they will be based on the chipset on your motherboard.

im not sure which brand dell use im afraid.

Pentium D is the processor not the motherboard.

motherboard will be by VIA or SiS or something like that

Does your system have a service tag attached? You can enter the number and go through a troubleshooting sequence on the Dell site:

If not, you can still select the appropriate model and go through the steps.

I realised that after I posted ....sorry...

It's a Dell Dimension 9150 but haven't a clue what the motherboard is...

There are six long sounds (it's a buzzing sound!)

I'm going through the diagnostics and it's telling me to open the chassis, re-seat the memory and :
