The RMT are blood thirsty w4nkers

Any reason for a dig at the RMT for a thread about an ASLEF strike?
  • Its good to see that the ASLEF action has in fact made a point that the vast majority of non-unionised workplaces would not make for fear of being sacked......

Or at least none of the office strikes seem to have been impacting enough to make the news.....

Now I see see why there is s much resentment, because LU Drivers can take action and most of the rest of you would probably be sacked for even thinking bout it.

    exactly.

ryan may want to close this thread but I'm enjoying reading points of view coming straight from the evening standard/daily mail - it's like these guys are incapable of independent thought! it's laughable.

so tell us, guys: what's it like to suckered by the media on a daily basis?

Tube drivers have to worry about and respond to the actions of other drivers all the time, no I didn't think so.
Tube drivers decide their route, no I don't think so.
Tube drivers who hit someone will generally only do so when they are already slowing down to enter a station, not high speed impacts.

Does the technology exist to replace tube drivers-yes already exists and is in use.
Does the technology exist to replace coach drivers-no

Much easier for a computer to run a tube train than a coach.

Which one takes longer to train ? and then I think you would have found your answer !!
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

i feel bad for the 900 people who will lose their jobs driving tubes.... just as i feel bad for the thousands of people in local councils who will be made redundant.... just as i feel bad i work in the academic sector where there have already been waves of redundancies with plenty more on the horizon with the government cuts.

none of us are that special. cuts will hit everyone. if tube drivers hadn't made so much of a fuss so many times, then i might care this time. i'm fed up of it. it's like the boy who cried wolf!

fwiw - most of the public sector is massively unionised. i guess most of them haven't seen the need to try and hold a whole city to ransom on a seemingly monthly basis to make their point!

Slave Labour....... not even my son would come out with such a ridiculous comparison, and he's an idiot. I feel a career suggestion coming on. Comments like this make me understand where the problems are.

When you strike you effect millions, you know this and use it to get what you want that’s why you strike, otherwise there would be no point would there?

So there is NO illusion, NO misconception, NO justification whatsoever as to the damage you cause to everyday people who have nothing to do with your problem, other than to be victims. I can’t help liken this to other terrible groups we hear about on the news every day.

How is it that you think that anyone is going to “side” with you whilst you make their lives miserable? I would really like to know what genius invented this line of logic and sold it to underground workers although sold might be a strong word.

How about a new logo for the Underground that you can all be proud of "I Strike for a living, what do you do ?" kind of makes anyone and everyone actually working or unemployed more important in my eyes, however I’m sure the grandchildren will love all those stories of woe at bedtime.. won’t they?

Any fool can strike so what are your clever people getting paid for?

Excuse me gob5hite almighty. Whether i am in management or not makes no difference to how my reaction is, I worked !!!!ing hard over many years to get where i am and i started at the bottom of the ladder where ive been the victim of physical abuse by the so called lovely passengers.

.. You may have missed it earlier when i said that its only this strike that i dont agree with and the timing of it.

Of course given that i have been the lead in the last 2 negotiations with my staff where we have got them something they wanted without striking bears nothing to you because you do not have a clue what your on about do you.

So keep your glib opinions of my role on the railway out of it.
    There he goes again...

I sure hope those 'under' you aren't spoken to by you the way you speak to people here! It's a trait of a bad mamager that choses to belittle people in public. Actually, aren't the management usually the first jobs to be cut on the railway? Food for thought maybe?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
