It does make you wonder if this change was initiated by Zu or Nochex?

I don't think it was by Nochex as before zu sent out the email I was in contact with Nochex regularly as the were trying to contact them for me and seemed as much in the dark as I was. By the way grayme-m I'm sorry if my post seem like I'm snapping at you as I'm not, I'm just jutted that my self and all the other people waiting have to go through this.

No worries. I was lucky not to have bought from them but managed to get myself embroiled anyway.

Nochex may have withdrawn as a result of failing to contact Zu; didn't you pay by Credit Card?

Not necessarily, many businesses take your money (or a deposit) before they have the item. Then them not having the money to refund could be down to generally bad cashflow.

    Unless you can prove deception?

    (Me defending Zu! :))

Your right with the bit about proof. The one thing I always did was keep copys of emails that zu sent me claming that they had sent me a refund and knowing full well that they hadn't as Nochex had no record of it. I had an ebay situation before which went a bit the same way and the one thing the police told me was always keep your emails they do come in handy.

I'm ok my situation is being dealt with but I seen people on this site that have paid by bank transfer, and I know that there are alot of people that watch this site but are not signed up and may be getting a bit worried now and I know how they feel. As for waiting for a reply mybe mabe not as I also contacted Nochex after the email and they told me that they were still trying to contact them then I got an email from zu asking why I had a problem with them lol (I didn't have time to write them a 1000essay). Anyway Nochex said that they would contact me when they had made contact with them(I'm sill waiting).

You were right it's not the Ivory Coast it a appears to be worse. This is what I thought would happen, and at that time I got in contact with my cc company so I hope every one thats been waiting does the same. Don't wait for a refund because I just don't think it's going to happen. Worse case as I said in my past posts contact the police if you didn't pay by cc card. One good thing is the traded through Nochex so the will have all their records and be happy to pass them on to the trading standerds or police.

Ok Edhead, I think that you are just stirring things up here a bit, it has been well proven that Zu HAVE PROCESSED REFUNDS and even HAVE delivered the goods. Certainly this company had problems, but they are NOT crooks.

Companies close down all the time, jeez lets call the cops! Listen, you are just panicking others so please quit with the drama. I got a refund from Zu, no problems and I can see on this forum AND OTHERS that Zu either delivered or refunded most people.

I would say that you WILL get your money back within the 90 days. My husband is an accountant and when I asked them why 90 days, he said it probably coz Zu's suppliers or creditors had them on a 90 account and the company is working out how to administer the cash thats left.

I see they also have set up a help desk for people needing refunds, how very criminal.

Less of the drama please, Zu had problems, they have delivered or refunded most people, so they may have had a crap service, but they arnt NOT crooks.

    nuff said IMHO

You seem very emotional about this. Who did you say you worked for?

By the way I was still waiting for the answers on the last post you gave. Funny that.
  • I work for HMV actually, why you ask?

What because I bring a bit of reason to the table, I work for them?

Just the response I would expect, seems only negative comments are welcome on this forum.

Good look to all those who are awaiting their refund, have faith it should all work out, it did for me!:T

They told us that they were changing payment processors and there was a delay in refunding our card, this seemed a bit odd

Your right this does sound a bit odd, if they can still collect payment on products they sell then there should be no problem sending it back the same way. In fact no matter what payment system you chose to use for you business when first using it you will have more trouble taking payments from people then giving it to them for obvious security reasons( I know I've been there). So saying they are changing payment systems now sounds a bit convenient but should not make a diffrence if the company is still trading. As I said if you can accept payment by cc then you can refund by the same source, if you can take the money straight away, you can refund straight away.

festive season will probably slow down the refund process as they are closed until Jan 8th.

I understand what you are saying but if they sent out the refunds like they said they did way before their closing date then the monies would be with their payment system(nochex), and fact that they are closed until jan 8th should not make any difference as the have parted with the money already and then now becomes a nochex problem.

Yesterday a cheque arrived from them in the post, with an apologetic letter explainig why they couldnt refund our card and it all seems to make sense.

Can you tell us what the letter said.

In fact I'm at a loss on why you would be browsing this forum if you've already got your money back and are happy.
I can only hope you defend HMV with such determination.

If you don't work for zu what makes you so sure that every one will get there money back, just because you did?. Yes there are a few people that have got there money back and a good few people that haven't, unless your willing to refund all the people that are trusting in your words, I'd be careful of who you sing the praises of.

Congratulations on your recent marriage :)

It does appear that the people of Zu are working towards issuing refunds however in their own words 'the company has sustained severe losses over the past 6 months' so how much you will get back from them is far from certain.

To get 90 days credit from a supplier is most generous and probably very rare but if you are winding a company up you try to do it as quick as possible so I fail to see what your own credit terms with suppliers have to do with issuing refunds to customers?
