mike, like i said, contact nochex and query zudirect.
i did, they couldnt cancel my order and refund me quick enough...
a sorry tale from start to finish.
as i said previously, got mine from game on saturday, and i'm lovin' it!!!
i'd have to say with a mile wide cheesy grin that it's worth the extra money.
i would say though if you do get one from game, ask them to get a few out and pick the best one, also turn it on and check the screen for dead pixels. mines got one, i phoned game to see if they would change it, but they said if it's only one, then no they wouldnt.

Did you manage to get your refund from zu, I'v been trying since last week and I'm not getting anywhere. Even Nochex have sent them emails but I'm still getting nothing. I think my next route will be the credit card company or the police.0 -
just as a side issue, seeing as game told me to, i rang the sony customer care line about my dead pixel. their response was it's second hand we wouldnt touch it with a bargepole.
so i said, but its sold as being a pukka sony refurb, surely that means something.
No mate, it may well have been refurbed by sony, sony are the only peopel who can refurb them, but it's still second hand. any warranty comes from the seller not sony. as far as we're concerened anything not sold brand new is not our problem.
i found that a little disconcerting, even more so if i'd got it from Zu.
just for info
Cheers

Hi Cheap,
Regarding the dead pixel problem-its a tricky one as the goods are refurbished one could expect minor flaws to be present, if the dead pixel is really annoying it might be worth seeing if game will replace the unit for you although that may be down to their descretion but its worth a try.
As far as Sony is concerned-although correct that the retailer is responsible for any faults, if the refurb PSP was sourced from Sony then they would be liable to the retailer and if a major fault developed then the retailer would return the PSP to Sony themselves.
A lot depends on what warranty was sold with the refurb PSP in the first place, on a refurbished product its fair to expect about 6 months.
The sale of goods act may be a tricky one to invoke in this instance as I mentioned earlier with a refurbished product minor flaws should be expected but the goods should still be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose etc.
If the PSP had been bought online you most likely would be able to return it under the Distance Selling Regulations. Of course the DSR wouldn't be of much use with zudirect if they can't be contacted other by e-mail and then have to wait for them to reply.
I'm sure there are more knowledgeable members of MSE than me who can offer more advice but the first option should definately be to pop into game and see if they will replace it, buying something from the shop at the same time may help.
That said if I bought a refurbished PSP and it had one dead pixel I wouldn't mind to much as long as it wasn't too annoying, over time I might even grow fond of that dead pixel (now i'm just being silly).:o0 -
