Thank you for your support esmer, the tears are flowing now I feel all over the place, all I have tried to do is support him and I end up feeling like this, is it worth it? I'm not sure anymore

I searched the whole of asda earlier for muffin cases and couldn't find any, I got some different sprinkles that were on offer though and I got an icing bag kit, reuseable bag with 3 nozzles for £1.50, I might make some more cupcakes tomorrow to take my mind off stuff.Aiming to completely pay off the credit card in 2012!0 -
Hi everyone
I don't think I have tried the doublebase cream before I will have a look out for that, is it a general moisturiser available in store? I am currently using dead sea spa magik dry skin moisturiser which is doing well for me to keep my skin hydrated and it doesn't bring out the eczema but doesn't clear it either!
I have dead sea salts for the bath as well which help.
I think I need to move to a hotter country, last time I went on holiday (8 years ago) I went to Teneriefe and my skin has never looked so good, the atmosphere out there cleared it right up.
I have to confess I spent my cokezone HMV voucher, I have been wanting Adeles album for weeks but couldn't spend the money but it only cost me £2.99 with the voucher so I am pleased to get a little something.
Esmer I was just wondering where you get your cupcake cases from and how much do you think is reasonable to pay?
Twinkle hope things start looking up for you soon
Hope you don't mind me offloading but I don't have anyone else to talk to. OH has been really grating on me for a while now I am fed up of his selfish behaviour, it all came to a head this morning and I have asked him to leave for a while, not sure how I feel now or what to do....
I dont think you can get Doublebase over the counter. I have it prescribed to me, so just ask your doctor for it? I dont see why they would not put it on repeat pescription for you. It can be used before showering too so that showering doesnt dry out your skin too much (it creates like a barrier). I was given a bag of lots of different moisturisers by the hospital to try a few years ago and I liked this the best as it soaked in quickly and goes on clear. The tub I get is 500g (apparently I should be getting through 2 of these a month but usually only manage 1) and then get 100g tubes to keep in my handbag too for when I have flare ups. You can apply it as much as you want, I apply twice a day by routine more if at home all day or I have a flare up. I also use it as aftersun on holiday. Most peoples ezcema is better on holiday because the sun is good for it (which is why lots of suffers use the sunbed and some have light therapy) plus you are less stressed
. I have tried lots of moisutrisers before this and would recommend all ezcema suffers to use it rather than shop bought items, I even use it on my face now instead of clinique as clinique just doesnt moisurise enough!
Also other tips I was given my the dermatologist last year.... (in his words!
NEVER ever EVER under any circumstances have a bath! It dries out the skin far too much.
Do NOT shower ever day, again it dries out the skin too much. Every 2-3 days is ok.
If you have a flare up under NO circumstances can you shower more than twice in a week.
Hydrocortisone is almost useless. Should only be used when flare up is very slight, if its gets to certain stage hydrocortisone will have little effect so a stronger steroid like betnovate needs to be used.
I know everyone will probably go EWwwwwwwww but.... Ive implimented it and seen an improvement.
And my tips my years of suffering...
If you have antihistamines take them all year as it stops the ezcema from itching as much.
If its particularly bad wear gloves to bed (my OH has had to hold my hands down when Ive been asleep and scratching myself to the point of bleeding, because Im asleep I dont realise and think I never scratch so cant understand why its so bad!)
Sorry for turning it into a ezcema rant!
Offload all you want
. Thats what we are all here for
I think sometimes we all need our own space to process things through our mind, and we also need to be able to to discuss little issues with our OHs before they escalate into huge ones. The space will do you both good, and I am sure in a few days you will see things clearer. We are all here so dont be afraid to talk to us

I don't normally post in this thread but have just caught what Giggles says below and will second everything she said about eczema. Unfortunately those who have never had it can never understand how it feels and to have someone saying 'well don't itch' just makes me want to punch their lights out, along with every b*gger at work thinking that they can comment on it just because it's on my hands/face/neck where they can see it.
It can make you feel really down when it's bad, I've burst into tears before at work with someone making a wrong comment and considered signing myself off sick because I hate the way I look.
I do find baths helpful for me as it's the only time I don't feel itchy but I use Oilatum every time and use an emulsifying/paraffin wax combo prescribed by the doctor when I get out (even says stay away from naked flames it's that bad!) I also have Dermovate for when it's really bad, anti-histamines (4 a day) and Doublebase as much as I need (use about 2 tubs in just under 4 weeks). You just need to find a doctor who understands, my last one couldn't give a toss and I had to put in a complaint!
I know that this doesn't help either if you are having problems at home so feel free to rant if you need!
And kec09 - chocolate always makes me feel better so chocolate muffins here I come - where did you say you lived again? :rotfl:0 -
Bunbun - sorry to hear about DS2, I hope the consultant can sort him out xx
Savvy - I'll look out for that shampoo, my hair needs a miracle
Sorry to hear about your mum being 'off'
Well done to those who've had a redeem, and especially to Elysia for the very profitable ones and stressed for your amazing total
Esmer - hope you've had a productive day. The only advise i've got about the car is to check the tax implications, I had one like that years ago and it made a huge difference to tax, so I was better off with a private car
Giggles - hope you've enjoyed your girlie day
Twinkle - hope the new drugs help your pain
I've done no money making today but bought some new bedding at JL using survey vouchers
. my hands are really hurting from being on my crutches for so long though
Juat a thought re your crutches I had the same probs with my hands literally end up with callous, - I got mine changed the new one s have got a hand grip and it takes a lot of the pressure off. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

ah so true
. How anyone can think 'Aw your skin looks bad today' is a great comment to make is beyond me, I have literally walked away from someone and been in tears for an hours because they felt the need to say that to me, made worse by the fact I thought I was having a good skin day!
My childhood doctor told me I would grow out of it and was just at that time of my life where I was stressed (even though I was very much a carefree personality with very litle stress in my life, which I told him) so there was nothing more he could do for me. This was when when I was 16-18. Was so bad I got eye infections every 2-4 weeks because the ezcema on my eyelids was infecting my eyeballs. I happened to see another doctor one day and he referred me to the hospital sraight away... I have never seen my childhood doctor since! Fingers crossed I think I have found a much more sympathetic doctor now (I have seen many since then as you see any available at our surgery) so will make appointments with her in future.
Sometimes I think to myself 'Its only your skin, its not life threatening get over yourself' but when Im sat in tears cause Im in so much pain, or I cant bring myself to look in a mirror because I am scared of what I will see looking back at me I realise that the mental and emotional strain is enough to justify my feelings.
Good luck to all my fellow sufferers
.
Back to the money making theme!... Well I have woken up feeling like poo, which is very unlike me. So much so I have got out of bed to have a lempsip! Though I may as well see if I had some surveys come in over night, the early bird catches the worm as they say! But I got screened out straight away haha0 -
Morning everyone
Less money making but more money saving... M&S have 2 of the comparethemarket meerkat autobiographies in stock reduced to £1
I ordered the other day and was very pleased as the book says it was rrp £10, bro is meerkat crazy so that's one pressie sorted.

edit - If you order it for home delivery and tell them that it wont allow you to order to store although the option is stated they should knock off the delivery cost

Bunbun - so sorry to hear about DS2, I hope that the consultant can help.
kec09 - went through this a few years ago with my oh, really didn't think we would make it. But here we are still together.
Hugs to anyone else that needs them.
Been catching up on surveys this morning, spent the whole of yesterday sat on the sofa after a night out on Friday where a bit too much wine was consumed
. A completely wasted day but the night was so great I think it was worth the trade off. lol
Have to big up Mysurvey. Did a survey this morning that took me to enough points to redeem for a £25 amazon voucher. Put the redeem in and I had the code within £15 minutes and on a sunday too!! Very impressed.
Off now to do the hundreds of surveynetwork links in my inbox. I know I will get screened out of 90% of them but nevermind.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend
Take care

My son asked me to help him sell some bits on Ebay and yesterday I found he had paid in £95 to my Paypal account as half of what he sold. Nice amount to add to my total.
Just checking my totals on spreadsheet and realised I had enough in Ipsos to order a £10 Amazon voucher.0 -
Hope you feel better today giggles, good on you for having a night off and having a couple of glasses, think I could do with some tonight too

Well done on your paypal Rufusdog, that is fab!
Just getting ready for a meal out with all of OHs family, wasn't overly excited at the prospect but hubby just handed me my clothes from the drier and they are all ruined, bra, top and trousers!
Bloody fabulous, just when I thought I was doing brilliantly with the money making, OH ends up doing something stupid costing us more money, seriously getting p'eed off with it, a few weeks back had to chuck a big bag of makeup and toiletries away as he had spilt orange juioe on it months ago, didn't think to tell me and everything was covered in mould. No way I am putting anything on my face or hair that has had mould on it.
Will try to get through this afternoon without losing the plot, not sure how that is going to work though!
Have a great day everyone, keep up the good work!Comping wishlist for 2017

Savvy thanks for the meercat link - I bet DD1 would like that. Sorry to hear OH has ruined your clothes - Mine does that too. He thinks he's helping by putting the washing on and mixes all the colours. Forget money making, can we re-name this the 'I hate men' thread. :rotfl:
DD2 is so much better today - you can tell by her eyes she's still not over it, but at least she has colour in her cheeks. She could do with another dose of Nurufen because her temp is still high but she refuses.
Stepmum - I couldn't beleive mYsury either when I redeemed earlier in the week, my code came through instantly. Amazing, why can't other companies do that?
Rufus - What a bonus £95 paypal. Well done hun. My dad is retired and mooches round those cash converter places looking for things cheap, now he's on a bugdet. He found a camera lense for £30 and he made £20 by selling it to his friend but after I checked on ebay, it was going for £250 with a couple of days to go - so I told him next time he finds a bargain, to tell me first, and I'll put it ebay and we'll go halves on the profit.
On T i've just had a survey for a film and at the end it said I didn't qualify because I had answered a question incorrectly - it was all about opinions - how can I answer incorrectly? It's probably because I said their film was rubbish and I wouldn't see it.
They made me complete the whole survey first though - it's just another ploy not to pay, I reckon.
ETA: Dooyoo is back up and running again. I made it to the £20 Amazon voucher. Woohoo. I may try and keep on and go for the £50 cheque (amazon vouchers are too easy to spend).I :heartpuls M.S.E.
