Hello all :j
Sorry I'm not joining in with you busy lot but today I've been battling with DLA forms (ageconcern lady can't come out till after the date the forms have to be in ) So, ploughed through them myself till I got a but stuck and thought best to put them away till tomorrow. Then had battle with hospitals/surgeries as to who was supposed to arrange bone scan appt.............hosptal say its gp, gp said it wasn't..........turns out it is and also I should be on some medication for bone thinning. GP phoned me back, said he'd arrange scan s.a.p. and prescription ready to pick up today thank goodness. But it just seemed like an age sorting it all out.
Occ.Therapy are coming next Tuesday to assess my needs for rails and other stuff so least thats getting on the move.
Been trying to find a recliner chair or similar from 2nd hand shops in town..........they've got two that are too big and one too small  No joy there for now. Doesn't help that I can't get out to have a look myself...........there might be a high back chair that would do. OH's been round looking but poor soul is suffering with his leg today so we're a right pair between us.
Not to fret too much though. We'll get there eventually. I got a bed pan from red cross yesterday so I don't have to wake OH in the night to use loo...........so thrilled I actually managed to use it myself without him waking at all.........:T How daft...................lol Who'd have ever thought I'd get so excited over something like that and he'd be spending his time emptying that or the commode..............lol:rotfl: Well, you have to laugh at these things...........only way to cope with what really is a not very good situation
Hope you're all ok. Keep busy...........I might not be joining in with what you're doing but love to see it all going on.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Remember Valentines and Mothersday are next on the list. Could you make some stuff for gifts for those events and sell on ebay? someone was doing scrolls a few years ago on ebay for mothersday, I think there is a market there for stuff, and im sure with your talents you could make something.
I was thinking those cuddle mug thingys
in red for valentines, pink for mothersday, and fill them for chocolates and wrapped in Cello. Just an idea.
If anyone's after chocies for their 'makes', Card Warehouse have them at 99p for a bag of red foil coloured choc hearts (cheapest I've found so far)
They're by the till points.Hello all :j

DLA forms are a total nightmare
I have to complete them for my son and it's such a pain in the a** I volunteer for Banardos and they're in the process of training myelf and several others in my area on how to fil in the DLA forms so we can go out to families and support them with this - how awful is that???? The forms are so difficult you need to be trainned to complete them!!! Shocking really.....
Hope you get through it soon :hug:_____________________________________________party_ Handmade Christmas and Occassions 2011 _party_OS Moneysaving as much as I can

ooops, meant to say to anyone making sock monkeys - poundland have over the knee socks in lovely stripy colours at the moment (pink stripes, blue stripes, green & grey stripes) and as they long socks you get leftovers (great if you're making sock monsters or other animals!)
HTH someone

Mary - so sorry you are having so much trouble, must be terrible for you both especially you not being able to get out and about now. I hope they come and sort you out soon and the new medication helps.
I have finished my wallpaper, and sorted the room right out, made up the new bed, need to buy a mattress, will probs save up and get daughter a new one for her bed and use hers on the spare bed. Need to get some border too, but it will wait. OH took my sewing machine up for me so I can have a quick go on that tomorrow in the morning before I go out to see ExMil. She cant get out now walking, has similar trouble to Mary but its her hips and spine that is crumbling. Has to go in a wheelchair and is always hinting at how her other friend takes her out but she is a big lady and there is no way I could push her around with my dodgy arms. I would have trouble even if they were not dodgy.
They had some of those bags of chocolate sweets in 99p stores today like the miniature ones you get in boxes of heroes or similar. Bought a bag of mini Twixs to go with youngest Grandson's birthday present. They had others in there like Mars, cant remember the others now but thought they were good for 99p. Didnt see the dates on them but usually all right in there.
Went up to get a new broom and dustpan with the long handle, usually have loads in 99p store but hadnt got any in, just the normal dustpan and brush but I cant use them. Wanted a picture frame as well for an odd size print I have which is 16" x 10", found a couple near the size in Wilkinsons but were £7 each so OH is going to have a look in the loft to see if we have an old picture up there I can use the frame from. Want to hang the pic in my spare room.0 -

Hi,
Christmas past was my first attempt at making home made gifts. I did pots of gold for the family, friends and teachers. They went down very well, so I thought I'd try my hand at easter hampers. I looked on ebay for cellophane to wrap them in, and found a lovely cellophane with gold stars very suitable for Christmas, and similar to what I paid around £8 for just before Christmas, for just under £4 (which includes the delivery) for 10m.
Here is the link if anyone is interested:
