  • Hi all....Sorry not been about the last few days.....MIL (who has been fighting cancer for last 6 years) got taken into hospital just over a week ago with flu/bad breathing....ended up having to have lung drained and was very poorly. At Xmas DH said he didnt think she had long left. Anyway yesterday she was moved to our local hospice. They have given her about 3 weeks if that so all in all its not a good time in our house. DH is dealing with it really well....its me who as usual is falling to pieces but trying not to in front of him DD is taking it really bad. There are family probs in their family aswell which doesnt make it any easier!! So for the mo....I am giving up on being organised for anything as the family will be relying on me to organise other things (thats my job in the family....The Organiser!!!. Thats me for now. Hope everyone else is ok and if not hugs from me 2 u.

    Much love

    Xmas Saver!
Had a good shop in our 2 Boots stores, spent £87, should have been £348, and was very mse as put it on dads credit card!!

Best bargains - were the Fern Hatbox, and Strictly Dancing Vanity case, they were £10 each, so there cover a few more presents, plan is to finish off sorting them at the weekend.

    Bar that been quiet....xx

I was incredibly MSE with the Boots sale - didn't buy anything because it wasn't necessary even though I was sorely tempted :money:

I've decided to send my nephew a slip and slide for his birthday and because I'll buy it from Amazon.com I can either use vouchers to cover the cost or put it on Husband's account so it doesn't cost me any money :money:

I've already sent the February birthday gifts off so the next one that doesn't come from my emergency-stuff stash will be the end of May.

I feel a bit of a fraudster keeping up with this thread when I'm organised already, my plan was to quietly get to 50% money neutral by myself because I can't keep up with the money thread as well as this one but I'm already at 35% after a couple of refunds for stuff and after my People Tree goody bag turned out to be ridiculous I have a pile of ebay stuff. So hopefully I'll get to 100%, but all this is better on the other thread and not really appropriate for here but I don't have anything to talk about here and yet I want to keep up, waaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Mary, I hope you're doing ok this morning and not too uncomfortable.

    Hope mummyslittleboy's doing better.

esmer, the thought of the cakes is so tempting that I'm not even clicking your picture :p

Well done everyone on your Boots bargains :money:

    Lisi, still thinking of you.

Well done Rufus on all your wallpapering.

CDS how was LO after her jabs?

i can understand what you are going through we lost our lovely Fil last july to cancer. it is so hard, DH still finds things so hard, im trying to spend more time with his mum and putting on a brave face for everyone else but i still need a good cry from time to time. if i could offer you one piece of advice it would be to talk to each other, its so easy to bottle things up and be scared to say anything for fear of upsetting each other. sending you a huge hug.

esmer - those cupcakes look gorgeous!!!

SugarSpun - Don't you dare disappear from this thread!! LO was fine. She got a little upset after the second jab (she'd already been jabbed once, so fair play that she moaned after the second one!!), but recovered very quickly and was fine all evening!

I'm going to have a little moan. I know it's NOTHING in comparison to most of your problems, but it's only just happened, it was my fault, and I KNOW you lovely people don't mind a moan and I'm sure I'll feel better afterwards. Just connected out external hard drive to my laptop to sort out my itunes library. The hard disk has all our music on and all my old photos (thank fully not pictures of LO!). Anyway, I managed to drop the bloody thing off the edge of the desk and now it's making a funny noise and not reading!! Had a technicial here in work to have a quick look, took it out of it's case and tried it inside a PC instead, but it still didn't work. I am REALLY annoyed. No idea if I can save the data off it, but I'm hoping I can find someone who can. Also means that if I want to save the data (fingers crossed!!) I'll need to buy another external hard drive. Looking at £50 - not extortionate but I can't really afford it right now. Just SO annoyed. Completely my fault. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Rant over.

Anyway, feel a little better now. I'm off to do something fun instead of beating myself up about it!

Have a good day everyone. Hugs to those who need it!

    Hello all :j
Not very comfortable today...........think I slept a bit odd -either that or didnt sit right on my bed pan during the night...................lol
Had forms from the council about grant but they want to know what dla I'm getting..........well I don't know yet and they want the forms back in 4 weeks else they'll cancel the application !!
Expect they;ll say we've got too much savings anyway so I don't know.........wonder whether we might just as well get it done ourselves and be done with it.

Cleaner came today and she cheered me up.........always so chirpy she is. She attacked the loo and bathroom and stairs carpet, did downstairs and is coming back Monday to attack kitchen floor and cooker..............lol :)

Toothfairy -so sorry to hear the news..............hugs ((((((:o)))) and thinking of you
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi everyone

cdsmiler, that happened to me and i stripped it down and still didnt work so i emailed the firm that made it and told them that it was making all sorts of funny noises. I told them i knew nothing about it as i wasnt very technically minded and there was important things on that couldnt be replaced. They told me to send it to them and they saved my data and replaced with a new one and no bill. I did lay it on abit mind about relatives that had passed away, the music not as important as the memories. etc etc

sugarspun - you chat all you want to, i dont care what its about, the money making thread will go quieter as peeps fall away and this one picks up nearer xmas, i`m on both and sometimes talk to people who are not even on that thread. But i`m silly like that

esmer - i shout, sticky toffee......mmmmmmm what did you make the topping with for it to taste of sticky toffee...come on spill the beans...lol, or is it a secret. And thank the one above i dont work with you, you`d kill my diet....lol x

mary - dont give up and put pending. My cousin has cancer and hes very poorly, his wife left him and he has to fill the forms out, he asked everywhere for help and its not forthcoming, he said hes going to give up to, and they stopped his income support as they sent his letter to his old address and he didnt reply. I told him, get all the forms, post them to me and i`ll find someone. its so annoying when a persons ill and has no- one
