If it's already been mentioned plz accept my apologies - on our sister money thread (seems weird as we have the slimming thread as well - thats on catch up 2mor!) - but one of the ladies said there Boots was 75% off.
So whether they havn't had much stock left and brought 75% in early, don't know.

I just thought let you all incase it was all stores xx

Hiya just to say it was me, my local store has lots of toys in the clearance section at 75% or more, it's not the official 75% off but a fair few of the toys included in my store were not the Christmas 3for2 ones and they had new toys in clearance.

You can read this thread for more info but it looks like many stores have been putting items on clearance. No idea why though?

    Morning all,

Hope you all had a good weekend! Bit of an MSE weekend (well, Sunday!) for us - hubby's dad bought us tickets to go on a steam train and see Santa before Christmas - paid for a group of us as they were supposed to be coming to stay near us over Christmas. Didn't happen - we ended up in London for a few days. But in fairness to the train company we were told we could still use the tickets until March! Sounds like there were quite a few people who couldn't get to the Christmassy rides (snow!!) as when we went yesterday, with hubby's cousin, husband and their two children, they still gave a free mince pie and glass of sherry to each adult, and the children still had presents at the end! The only things missing were the Christmas decs, santa himself, and the crowds! lol Lovely day. DD loved the train - dunno if it was the motion or the sound, but she stood on the wooden seat and jiggled (dancing!) all the time!! lol bless her.

Vista print order done - calendar and 10 thank you cards (Xmas cards altered!!). Might do some more - NEED more thank you cards but wondering if I get non personalised!

Anyway, bit belated, but just updated my blog with pictures of the cakes I made in December - would love your opinions!

    Hello all :j
Been away...........no holiday though........quick trip to hospital on Thursday morning -couldn't walk:eek:

Oh Mary!! Sending you loads of love. If there's ANYTHING I can do, let me know. THink I'm miles from you, so dunno what I could do.... I can do any vitual stuff.... rambling now. Anyway, you know I'm thinking of you! Love to your OH too and god bless your lad!! Hope the meeting went ok this morning!

Rufus - hope you're thawed out properly now!!!

junior - go for it with the travelling! Absolutely the best time in your life to do it. I never fancied it but know loads of people who did do it and LOVED it.

abdonz - *waves* welcome back!! Congrats on the house buying!! Can't help on the sewing machine though, sorry! lol

mum2one - hope you're all feeling better! Thanks for the advice on the car boot sales. Will have to get a wiggle on and actually DO them this year! lol
OU - hubby has been the same but purely because he leaves everything til the last minute! lol he didn't forget about the essay, he's just been 'saving it up'!! lol Needs to be done for Wednesday and he's just started!

esmer - love your cake! Funny the similarity between yours and the one I did for my Nan's 90th (with the flowers!!). What do you use to stick your decorations on? I've been using butter icing (as I use it under the main icing cover to keep it smooth) but it drives me around the bend! lol

Real Toothfairy / Lisi - good luck with the new prescription!

Hello to everyone else - I read all posts, just don't want to clog up the board with any more of my rambling than I already do!! lol

Need to sort through our Christmas pressies tonight and try to find somewhere for them to live (not any I've bought for next Christmas, the ones we were given! They're still sat next to where the tree once was!! lol).

    Have a good day all!

Oooo meant to ask. Anyone know any good/reliable/cheap sellers on ebay who sell large pieces of felt? Want to start making an advent calendar hanging for DD for next Chrsitmas! Have A4 pieces for the pockets and detail, but need something to put it all on to. Saying that, does it NEED to be felt?? Hmmm. Thinking out loud. Anyone done anything similar??

hey guys, not sure if you remember me from the start of last year, kinda drifted away i'm afraid to say. Have since split from my oh at the time and found a new one lol who comes with a whole host of problems but is so worth it (am a very smitten kitten hehe) have also had a promotion at work and seen my mother get married and my grandfather recover from cancer. However in the midst of all this i neglected my thrifty gifty ways, slap my wrists! Bring on 2011

Hello all :j Many thanks for the kind thoughts and hugs............good to know there are friends here who don't mind me having a winge.........lol

Meeting went well this morning, managed to survive without coffee till our lad came back. Cleaner has been.........brilliant she is. Next week she's tackling the oven.........she must love a challenge !!
Still can't get motivated to do anything.......mind you today has been a weird one really.
OH has appt at fracture clinic........vol.driver arranged to collect him and didn't arrive until it would have been too late for his appt. so he drove himself. Consultant pleased with how he''s doing and he's back there again in 6 weeks.
Have applied for more dla forms to apply for an increase in my needs and mobility ........expect they'll be like a tome............remember the first lot I had years ago !
So nothing been done.............maybe tomorrow I'll make a thankyou card for the hospital - they really were so good.
Oh.........am now walking along the landing to the loo with dads walking sticks...........I need two.......OH only needs one !! Can't see us racing each other yet a while............lol
Walking frame was too big for our landing but if I can manage it on sticks its not so bad.
Oh what a carry on..........think I'm still getting over the shock of it all. Really weird when one day you're walking, next day not
Still, gets me out of the washing up.............lol

Hugs to all who need them:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks, yours are great too. That was my first ever one. I use the sugarpaste in my cupcakes so made flowers and butterflys and snowflakes before. i used icing to stick them to the cake, but alcohol or vanilla essence can be used as a glue. :)

I prefer making cupcakes and adding stuff to those. The big cake was too much for me lol :)

Apologies if I have had anyone running to their local Boots - the sale was a 75% off toys - but not the 75% off that we want. Sorry xx

I had the most wonderful of surprises today, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, (have to take a photo and do the photobucket thingie)... I helped a lady out from another thread, she'd had an employment issue, and everything I'd been through with BK, pointed her in a few right directions, and the good news is her ex-employer settled out of court, and she sent me the flowers to say thank you. I just cried, I'm a soppy sod anyhow, but with the court case 2 days away is was just amazing xx

I had heard that vodka was great for sticking! I will have to try it!

Good to have you back! I don't think anyone could slap your wrists after the year you've just had! lol

Mary-op - I like the positive twist! Yep, no washing up (or cooking!!) for you! lol

mum2one - oh that's so sweet!! And well deserved too!
