    Evening all

Yay Mary, you have a toilet at last. I have a downstairs loo which is fine during the day but I dont have one upstairs and its a nightmare during the night having to come down.

I made a start on my dining chairs today, I stripped the old fabric off two of them, took me ages as there were thousands of staples. The chairs have fabric backs as well as seats so loads of them to hold it all on. I got the two chairs sanded and varnished too so now I can check tomorrow and see if they look alright as they are or whether they need another coat of varnish. I have 6 chairs altogether so I need to get my finger out to make sure they are done in time for Christmas.

Rufusdog/mary. I dont have an upstairs bathroom or loo, so alas I have a camode. DGD calls it granny's potty!
I was mortified when it was first delivered, but now I thank god for it. At the moment, I can manage to empty it and clean it myself, so dont have my carer to do that! That would be embarassing I think, at my age anyway.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Picked up the grabbit olay items today 2 for £6 to go into Mum's Christmas pamper hamper. I'd really like a night cream to go with it to but not really any decent offers on anywhere. I'll keep an eye out for an offer and see if its worth it.

Planning on starting the bath salts this weekend as hoping everything has arrived by then. If not I'll do the ones I can and leave the others for a week or so

glad you now have the toilet sorted mary
poor miss Hoodie, i hope shes feeling better now. my youngest did a similar thing when he was in the church choir a couple of years ago but he managed to upchuck infront of the altar in full choir robes and neck ruff as he was attempting to escape the choir stalls descreatly mid service. Needless to say it was not in the slightest bit descreate but apart from one quick thinking person at the front the service went on as normal.

made 25 bags of reindeer food last night but ive run out of cake decorations so need to go shopping today for more to do the other 25 bags

    have a good day all

    Hello all :j

rufus - congratulations to all -what better christmas present than a new grandson:T

mooloo - I've still got the commode the hospital sent me home with in January. I kept it 'just in case' -well, you never know do you when you'll need these things. It was a blessing to me. Thank goodness I can now manage the stairs but we always said we'd have a downstairs loo in the room that leads off our kitchen and was a dumping ground for everything and anything - now it houses washing machine freezers and boiler plus cubicle with loo ! New door so I can wheel my washing straight outside and if I'm in the garden and need the loo, not far to go.............:D

esmer - been thinking of you with all that white stuff...............hope we don't get it as bad as last year around here. OH slipped on the ice and broke his pelvis week before christmas and that seemed to kick everything off with health problems.
Here's looking forward to a better end to this year and a good start to the next one.
Oh, found some foot stuff on amazon in the end - all gift wrapped and delivered.......arrived today.

OH had his hospital appt yesterday. Driver picked us up at 2pm (appt was 4.45pm) so we were very early and consultant was running 45 minutes late !
At least when we did get to see him it was worth it. He explained things clearly. There's nothing they can do for OH.......he may improve with time but no guarantee. All down to the inflammation around in his stomach not helped by the 'mishap' (consultants words) of the gall bladder op which meant serious surgery. Now we know whats going on inside him its easier to cope with. There's no ulcer (other doctor got that wee bit wrong!) and he's being referred to the pain clinic and back to see consultant in 3 months. Consultant was relieved/surprised and pleased to see OH on his feet and walking !
Came out of there at 5.45pm - driver had gone but told us to go to the ambulance station and they'd sort out transport..............well, we did and there was no-one there, not a soul and they're supposed to be there till 6pm. Doors were all unlocked but it was deserted. Sister at the clinic was furious -she had to arrange a taxi for us to get home...........and we weren't the only ones.........there was an old chap who was stuck as well so he had to have a taxi. By the time we got home we both felt worn out -hospitals are very tiring and stressful places.

I managed to walk into town today -and back !!:T
Back now aches like mad but I'm pleased I managed to do it. It's not far but its long way to me at the minute. Got some more bits of fabric off the market, quick look in the charity shops -nothing. Was looking for lampshades for new loo and the back room.............2 in one shop but felt I couldn't face painting them (they were lime green !!)...........daft me.............been home couple of hours and wondering what to do with the fabric I got...............could cover two lampshades and still have spare ! Hope they're still there tomorrow when OH pops in.

    Oh lor..............I've rambled for Britain................lol:rotfl:

    Hope you're all ok.........keep warm:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I hope everyone is tucked up safe and sound from the wind - its pretty bad here but nowhere near as bad as it is up in Scotland

My dead sea salts arrived today ready for the bath salt making at the weekend - hope it turns out ok!

Well its our Christmas do tomorrow night and I must remember to take in something for the Christmas hamper at work we're putting together. Plus really need to make a start on the cards and get the family cards sorted then there's only the pjs left to buy

    Evening everyone

Thank you for the lovely congrats. We popped round to see the baby today, he is so gorgeous. I had a nice long cuddle with him until he got hungry and wanted his Mum again. I must say, its lovely to be able to give them back again lol.

Came back and did some more of my chairs. I only have one left to strip down now, another one is stained and varnished and I can cover that one tomorrow, then two more are ready to rub down and varnish. I will be glad to get them finished as they are doing my neck, shoulders and arms in.

We didnt do anything Christmassy really today except post all the cards off and take Son's cards round.

Managed to finish off the last of the xmas cards, even got Miss Hoodie to write hers, bless her she was absolutely shattered today, she didn't get up till dinnertime, then moaned that she missed breakfast!! shes back to normal.

She's done her fancy dress outfit, shes off to church youth club, - xmas theme, so shes going as a present, got a box and cut the head and arm holes, bless her she can sit down, but she can't get her hands to meet, so shes got to have some help with her drink. she was nit more upbeat today. Takeing every day as we can,
    xx
