Hope she has a good time Mun2one, the outfit sounds fab if a bit awkward. She will have to have a really long straw.

I thought I had finished all my Christmas card writing but I was talking to my Dad this morning and he said he was sending his cards back with my brother for me to write and post for him lol. So Sunday I will have to start again.

    Hi Ladies,

Just caught up on the last 3 pages.

    Congratulations grandma Rufus :)

Sugarspun, hope you arrived in UK safely

Mary, I'm so relieved you finally you've been updated about OH, but what is is about you and bad luck at the hospital? No transport. Hope everything in your house is working properly by Christmas.

Clare, what a wonderful advent calendar.

I've still haven't 100% finished one of my friend's ;) gifts. Changed my mind about something at the last moment.

    To buy - parents.
Cards - need to write a special card for DS2's care home- most fantastic place on earth.. Other cards to do as well.
Wrap - haven't done anything yet

From me -the boys only seem to want money and aren't interested in presents as such except for the hot choccie mini hamper they get each year with chocolates, biscuits, cakes etc. Might get some wine or something else as well.

    Santa challenge -
Christmas tradition - I've probably mentioned this before, I have a traditional Polish meal on the Eve (no meat) but lots of courses, and open presents after singing carols - this is at my parents house. Christmas Day they all come to me for an English meal - ex comes along to my parents and to mine.

    Afternoon all

Just off to meet my friend in a bit. I bought some car cleaning bits for OH this morning. Bought a nice gift bag in 99p shop to put them all in and then when I got home found it had shoes and handbags on it lol. It will have to do for now, I will get another one when I get up the town again. I ordered him another dvd this morning, still waiting for the last one to come from Amazon. Might be getting a bit of delay now on either them or the post as its taking longer than usual.

    Hello all :j

Angela - think I must be jinxed with that hospital one way or another...........still thats it till January and next appt for OH with the back specialist......that always takes an absolute age and he's always running late........typical :)

Least now OH has had his appt I felt I could do the letters to folk updating them on this year's events (for want of a better word) so that took care of this afternoon and cards are all ready for posting complete with stamps. I asked OH to pick me up a couple of cheap A5 notebooks from Tescos today -£2.49 each !!!!! And they look as if they should be half that ! Still, I can't complain at him........he's not to know is he. At least now I can cover them for next years journal and gardening record book. Mind you the covers are a bit on the flimsy side.........not like the hard back notebooks -much easier to cover.
Oh well.............can't have everything can I......lol
MIL sent us a cheque for christmas so I've ordered OH a coat............he wanted a Pea style ??? -sort of reefer jacket I'd call it but smarter.........cheapest I found was on amazon so thats him sorted. Just have to find something for my half the cheque......she'll want to know what we've bought and I can''t think of anything I want.

Cleaner came today but only for an hour -I said **** the cleaning I had a cupboard needed clearing out that was full of folders no longer needed -lot of shredding got done and in the recycling bin. Cleared a drawer out........just the one though................lol The others I'll do another day........(I keep saying that!)

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Gutted the dining room today, thou by the time put the wrapping paper, ribbos etc, it looks just as bad!! got to get wrapping 2mor, were meeting some friends Sun, our side of Chester, there from by Manchester, half way point, just finished a scarf in deep lilac, for her one daughter, -

    Just done om-line ordering, after asking dad to go to Game last week, they had just dance 3 on offer, they'd sold out but were expecting a delievery in the week, so he left it!! Any sensible woman would have gone to another shop!, no not him, been waiting 2 days for a phone call - sods law never materalised;

So we now have just dance 3 (for Miss Hoodie), Soliders CD (dads buying mum, but doesn't know!), Brendan from Coach trip - he's released autiobiography (ditto dad to mum), and Andy McNab for me (from mum and dad). Its my xmas tradation that I have his book for xmas.

  • Hey Guys

I have a quick question, i want to make a gift basket of stuff for my aunty but need a basket wicker type thing, not too pricey, it has to fit the following items:

All items from body shop, BS body butters 200ml x 2, Lipgloss, Body puffer, 200Ml shower gel, 50ml night cream, skin reviver 30ml, anti bac gel and a scarf, which i want to put underneath.

I already have cellophane courtesy of lidl 99p :) considering scouting the £1 shop for a premade basket then emptying contents?

Also another thing, got my cousin Levi roots cook book part 4, i want to add some reggae reggae sauces to it, mr t's have the bottles for £1 glass ones, but also have the squeezy bottles for £1 and they have more in and more variety, so could get her 3 instead of 2 diff flavours, what would you guys do? i know the bottles look nicr but the sqeezy bottles have more, i'm a bit stuck.

    Hi all

I forgot to ask before, how is Miss Hoodie?

Mary you ought to write a book about your hospital experiences, they are beyond belief. I wonder if these things have always happened or just in recent years?

This evening I took a look at all my hidden stores of food to see what I had for Christmas, no idea I had some Christmas cake - squashed as it had been amongst something hard. Assembled the boys bits in seperate gift bags.

the baskets, I'd try charity shops, wilkos, etc, or otherwise, plan B, use a shoe box if you have one, cover with wrapping paper then cello at the end, or get a cereal box, cut the large front panel off and cover the box with wrapping paper, and the front you cut off, just cut slightly cover this with the wrapping paper, and use as a strengthen in the box.

I'd go for the plactic bottles, not just price wise, but get more bottles same price, they both sound fab prezzies. xx

    Hi,
Bless her she went back to school today but looked a bit pale, bless her, no sick (phew) in herself shes up and down, more from the fact that we're all on a limbo regarding the court, ust trying to reassure her.

Shes getting semi exicted about xmas, think when she waked up xmas day with stocking, that should do the trick, xx

    Hi all

Mum2one, I really feel for Miss Hoodie. I am finding it a bit difficult lately because someone I know is dealing with the court situation from the other end, a grandmother not allowed to see her grandchild (nor is her son the father). They seem very decent people, the wife left the OH and went off with someone else and now won't allow the child to see the father.

She's very upset about the legal stuff and not sure if it was a good idea or not, I told her there are good reasons why some children are kept away from the fathers.
