Confession time, I spent most of Saturday morning with tears down my face, no wasn't chopping onions, Miss Hoodie took me to see Dolphin Tale, she used her free tickets, so I treated us to icecream, it was the biggest screen, and there was only 6 of us in there. Litterally at the start I started with a tear, then full blub, trying to be discreet, the film was absolutely amazing, it had everything inc a happy ending.
I can't wait for it to come on DVD, its going on my I want list.
Very proactive this afternoon, made 3 xmas cakes in small loaf tins, and 6 mini ones in shapes of xmas trees and angels. There lush, we had some mix over, but wasn't enough for a standard cake, so we made 6 in bun trays, look so fab being small, they went within 15 mins....

Hi mum2one and everyone else!
Just found this ongoing thread and am impressed! Hope it's ok if I join in...?
Santas Challenge – October
Posting Dates
15th – UK Standard Parcels
This is the only one I need to worry about as only have one present to post to my friend who lives in Scotland. I already have all her little bits and various boxes to choose from to pack in, and I used ShopAndScan vouchers to pay for part of it.
Vouchers / Incoming
I know some ladies do surveys, cashbacks etc, if there are any vouchers, and your on payout request asap, as a lot of people will be wanting to cash out for Christmas, and some surveys aren’t know for being quick payments, so maybe set yourself a cut off date and use them towards next years shopping.
I'm due another ShopAndScan one next week after my points go on, and they are instant so that'll be £10 Amazon voucher but I think that'll be the last payout I have before Christmas on any of them.
Online Ordering
Again, check the delievery terms and conditions of sites as each will vary, and without sounding daft if it says estimated delievery that could be “how long is a piece of string”, not trying to put anyone off, but don’t want anyone missing out on important present.
I'm mostly done with the present shopping now, rest to be completed beginning of December but have a little bit left to spend in Nov. So think I'll be fine as have most of my online ordered stuff.
Christmas Cards
Spread the writing of them even if it is 5 per day, soon fly through them.
Good plan - I'm not buying mine until December I don't think, but I have my list written out of who I need to give them to.
Mediciations etc
Check your prescriptions and spread and reorders out through now and start of Dec, most people will leave prescritions to the last week, so get in before
Very good point, I'm rubbish at remembering to order them in time! Will need two repeats before Christmas I think, one soon and one will have to be close as they won't give it to me if it's too soon after the last one!
Christmas Puddings
Theres plenty of offers at the moment, so were spolit for choice. xx
I get the Christmas pudding, there's a lady at work who does a little baking business on the side and every year she does the most brilliant alcohol-y, nutty, Christmas puddings! So I'll place my order with her, which is usually mid November!

Hello all :j
elsiepac - welcome :T There's some good folk on here with some brilliant ideas and mse tips.......much needed by me.............lol
Well, one of the shoe boxes I 'covered' yesterday with some sort of wallpaper hasn't done a very good job of drying out ! Not sure whether I pasted it wrong, whether it was the paper or just meAnyway, think that's one for the bin and I'll have to find another one and cover it with something else. It's for sons girlfriends birthday around Christmas so can't use christmas paper. Oh, poo !!
After months of being so behind myself I thought I was on the go at last but seems not ! Oh well, maybe it'll have to be pressies in a jiffy bag this year if I wrap them nicely with something.
Then I dried to fit sons ''christmas in a bag in his shoe box with his scarf and wrist warmers..........can't get them all in  Back to the drawing board with that one as well I'm thinking.
Or shall I cancel it this year ???
How you're all ok and feeling more 'festive' than me:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi. Could someone tell me if they have seen and bublegum machines (for the kids stocking fillers) please? Or can you recommend where to look for some- As cheap as possible is good!?
Thanks!0 -
Cleggie, I am not affiliated with this ebay seller and can't vouch in any way for them but under £2 delivered looks good?
I love this time of year when loads of new people turn up in the threadwelcome new people and happy nearly-Christmas to you!!!
My list up there ^^^ is getting crossed off nicely. I just wish my house stuff was going as fast; with the Husbeast home things are messier and I'm getting no help at all because he's still too sick to do much. And my laundry pile is much bigger, I swear his socks and underpants multiply in the washbox.
My brunch invitation has gone out and four people with three kids immediately RSVPd yes plus one maybe with two kids. I suspect I may have gone in waaaaaaaaaaay over my head. Too late now though and I am sure it'll be awesomely fun.
Good luck tomorrow mum2one, thinking of you.

Hi elsiepac and welcome, sounds like your getting very organised.
Sugarspun - thank you, xxx
Good day 2day, cleared out few bits and made £20 at carboot, its only small one, but they only charge £4 and get a free cup of tea!! Were saving the money for a surprise, not 100% sure whether it be pratical, so every penny in pot. Hopefully know by Jan... so will be a big reveal. If it does come off be the biggest incentive to reduce the waistline!
Miss Hoodie went to the firework display with dad and absolutely loved it, there was a fun fair, she went on ghost train, and also miami ride, wish been there as it was her 1st time on big version. She said she felt bit sick but was ok. Dad was the best - given him £20 to go with, comes home, says out £4 change on the stairs for you, but I had to spend some money!! so feeling quilty! or generous, told him to have the £4 back, I'd given them £20, (£7 to get in).
Fun this morning, very nearly an a+e visit, with splinters in my rear, but well padded in that area. The wardrobe door broke in half yesterday, (not new set) built in wardrobe with a louvre door, yesterday broke to the stable effect, turning around to get trs on + next thing the door comes off and slaps me in the bum.... dad did say better get another door eventually, but going mse and going to get beads that drop down. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hello all :j
mum2one -hope everything goes ok today:)
Not much happening here that's 'festive'..............OH not well last night and in bed by 9pm -not like him, and didn't get up till 11 this morning. Was up and downstairs at 5am as he felt so bad but said I'm not to ring doctor or anyone. He has to take these new tablets for 4 weeks ! Crikey I'll go bonkers if it's going to be like this, plus can't seem to get an earlier appt with consultant:mad:
Still, gardener chap came up and planted heathers and bulbs in the pots for down the drive, put garden table and chairs in the garage (now I know winters on its way) and managed to find a biggish tub to fill with the pansies I got so least when I look out for window I won't be staring at a bit of bare concrete ! He cleared the back room/indoor shed that leads off the kitchen so electrician can get to things like putting sockets in for washing machine. All the stuff that was in there is now in the garage.......seems as soon as one space gets cleared its filled up with ''stuff''
Not heard from floor people but they did say Wednesday -just thought I'd get a call confirming it. If they don't come I'll find a corner and sit and sulk............well I would if there was an empty corner anywhere that wasn't full of boxes:(
Never mind.............by the weekend ????
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
