Sugarspun, you are almost there, the other bits wont take that long will it, fingers crossed for you kitchen xx
Mary, glad its all turning out nicely now, you both deserve some good luck xx
Hi Anglea xx
Fedup , hope the cold gets better soon xx
OH got back in the loft yesterday as I was sure we had some more gift bags, he found quite a nice selection in the end and some more sheets of wrapping paper so we look like we will have plenty. I might start wrapping some of the bits up later on and put them in their bags so we can see better who's got what.
My first roll of fabric came yesterday afternoon for my sofa, its really nice and feels like a good quality fabric. I cant wait to get going on it but I cant start until I get the rest of the bits. I ordered most of it yesterday but there are still some bits we need from Dunelm Mill which I cant get until I have a lift there and OH is on nights all weekend.0 -
Hello all :j
At last.......pictures are on the kitchen walls and its starting to feel like 'home' :T Builders made a start on the back room for plastering it out and building cubicle for loo............least in there they don't have to walk right through the house every time they're in and out.
Managed to sort out (I think) whats going for charity shop and whats going for pressies. So, when cleaning girl comes on Monday we'll have a final sort out and she can take them out of my way so I can actually move !
My friends birthday tomorrow and her daughter is calling on the way to the hospital to take her 'bag of bits' for her so that'll be something else out of the way. There's so much stuff piled on top of stuff !
But we're winning -I think..............lol:)
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hello all :j
sugarspun -don't panic..............I'm sure it'll be done with time to spare. Once our old kitchen was out and the joiner arrived to fit the new one, couple of days and it was sorted, then electrician fitted oven and hob and that was it. It's been the decorating, re-tiling, new floor etc. thats dragged it out along with other building stuff going on.........and still going on !! Now they've started on the back room all my washing, carpet sweeper, bucket and mop etc. is on my new kitchen floorJust when it was looking 'posh' (well for me anyway) it starts to look like a squat again. Never mind.............this time next week..................(how many times have I said that ??)
Been trying to made some sort of headway with boxes of 'stuff' surplus to kitchen needs and not got far. Need a bit of help I think so I'll wait till cleaning girl comes on Monday. She'll give me a hand with it all. I've got enough boxes to put it in, its the sorting that I'm getting muddled with.
Ho hum..............such is life..............:)
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi everyone
Sugar, I agree with Mary, it shouldnt take long to fit it once they start, will just be a pain in between while you have no kitchen.
Mary, yours will all be done soon too xx
I have been making a start on my sofa, made some new back cushions this afternoon, just the inner bits. Its a start, still waiting for some more bits to come, hopefully they will turn up on Monday.
Off out tonight for a meal with ED for her 30th so I better start getting ready soon.0 -
Hello all :j
Had a go at being a bit 'festive' today........I've made all the cards (did that earlier this year when I couldn't walk) so thought I'd do the 'special' ones for family...........well one down and the rest still to come ! Haven't got as much xmas paper and stuff as I thought and feel loathe to buy any more till I've used up what I've got so I'll have to sift through it more another day. Builders here tomorrow and cleaning girl so not much chance of doing a lot except hopefully getting rid of some boxes of 'surplus to requirements' stuff to charity shop. Have to be careful though..........having a rummage and I found 3 four leafed clovers from my friends garden that I'd framed for ourselves and now don't know where to put it...........oh, silly me..........as I'm sat here there's a gap on the wall straight in front of me................lol:rotfl:
Once the surplus stuffs gone I'll know what I'm left with for xmas pressies then it'll be off to tescos for some cheapie chocolates and biscuits to fill the storage jars up for the kitchen pressies........yippee :T I'll be nearly done then...........even found two wicker baskets upstairs that I can put some of the stuff in.
OH seeing GP tomorrow so hoping he can give him something for the pains in his stomach and gee up the consultant for an earlier appt than January !
Hope you're all ok...........you all seem very busy:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Molly41 and I have been on a course making Christmas decorations. (Not cost effective if you add the cost of the course, but we were residential so it was a bit of a holiday too).
Here a few of the things we made.We have made more since the photo was taken, the three in the centre of the picture are the ones that I have made. I am hoping that they will become sort of "herilooms" for the future.
I am really thrilled as I would never have thought I could make something so pretty as these. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Evening everyone
Hope you all had a nice weekend, I had a lovely time last night out with my two daughters and the grandchildren. The food was lovely too so a good night out.
OH got up a bit earlier this afternoon and said he would take me to Dunelm Mill to get the rest of my sofa bits so now I can get on with a bit more tomorrow. We bought some paint to, some for the ceiling and some for the woodwork. Oh will do the ceiling may be tomorrow afternoon when he gets up (finishes his night work tonight). I will do the other paint work as he is worried (so am I lol) that he will get the paint all over the wallpaper where as I have a steadier hand than him and dont over load the paint brush either. So a busy week for me what with the sofa to do as well.
We are undecided as to whether to buy a real tree this year for Christmas, we have a lovely big fake tree we have had for a few years, it really looks nice but it isnt the same as having a real one, only thing is we have so many beautiful decorations for the tree I dont think they would all fit on a real tree as the branches are a bit more sparse.
Edit to add, Mooloo, I wish I had someone to go on things like that with (plus if I could afford it too). I only have one friend who lives near me these days, (they have all moved on) and she isnt that near, not near enough to walk to and it takes three buses to get there or her here. Sometimes my sister in law will take me to craft fairs but it would be nice to have someone else to share things with.0 -
Hope everyone ok, Miss hoodies parenst evening was so so, shes good at a lot but doesn't always apply herself, but we then had to drop the bombshell on the teacher, shes being really supportive, just waiting for everyone to get their parts in place.
Another present brought on Fri, got my friends hubby 5 bottles of beer from Home bargains, cheaper than the set from Boots, and he gets bigger bottles.
Just Miss Hoodie, mum and dad, so plzed now.
At a tutorial on Sat, managed to finish a hour early, which was nice, I managed to jump on another tutors meeting as mine were scheduled for evenings, but spoke to the tutor we stay in touch with as he is teaching the same course, and said no probs come along, There was only 4 of us there, nice group. Miss Hoodie had mum wrapped round her little finger, they had been playing wii games and Club penquin, but Miss Hoodie, apparently made up the rules!
Had a quiet day today, doing a craft fair next sunday, so have just been finishing some babies cardigans.
Bar that as they getting there slowly!!, want to start wrapping but got OU assisgnment to write this week, be a weekend start of Dec. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
