    Evening everyone

Hope you all had a nice weekend, I had a lovely time last night out with my two daughters and the grandchildren. The food was lovely too so a good night out.

OH got up a bit earlier this afternoon and said he would take me to Dunelm Mill to get the rest of my sofa bits so now I can get on with a bit more tomorrow. We bought some paint to, some for the ceiling and some for the woodwork. Oh will do the ceiling may be tomorrow afternoon when he gets up (finishes his night work tonight). I will do the other paint work as he is worried (so am I lol) that he will get the paint all over the wallpaper where as I have a steadier hand than him and dont over load the paint brush either. So a busy week for me what with the sofa to do as well.

We are undecided as to whether to buy a real tree this year for Christmas, we have a lovely big fake tree we have had for a few years, it really looks nice but it isnt the same as having a real one, only thing is we have so many beautiful decorations for the tree I dont think they would all fit on a real tree as the branches are a bit more sparse.

Edit to add, Mooloo, I wish I had someone to go on things like that with (plus if I could afford it too). I only have one friend who lives near me these days, (they have all moved on) and she isnt that near, not near enough to walk to and it takes three buses to get there or her here. Sometimes my sister in law will take me to craft fairs but it would be nice to have someone else to share things with.

It was a lovely break. As it was WI, although we are not members, we were made so welcome. There were lots of ladies there who were on thier own, although most I suppose were together as friends. On our course we were the only ones that were together. The rest were all on thier own. Also another lady was not a WI member either. Perhaps we will have to have a savings pot and save up for a MSE meeting, and a course at the same time one day!.
Alhtough as I get so poorly, I had to go and miss part of the lesson and get my head down while my meds kicked in, and then in the evenings. Now I need to find more braiding/ribbon, as I need an awful lot for each of the decorations, and mine are all remenants and only 1m or less!:( and at the moment, my funds are depleated so much I am not able too!.
There was a lovely display of baskets made from piping cord covered in bias? strips of fabrics, and sewn together in coils? So I think that I may have to side track and see if I could make something like that, as it would make some good presents too!.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

The Beastling and I are now escaping from the first part of the building work, so a few days in the UK for us :j

It does mean I need to rejig her advent calendar, it has a chocolate bear in each pocket and an activity so far, but while we're away we'll need specific activities for while we're there - including seeing Santa :D

    Hello all :j
OH been to see GP........he said he can't do much until OH has seen consultant but has taken him off the pills that made him sick and given him some more of others he already takes. Managed to get his appt with consultant brought forward to Dec 7th instead of hanging on till January thank goodness.
He went to physio to make appt and he's no. 23 out of 52 people on the list waiting !!! They might be able to fit him in before Christmas they said !
Cleaning girls been and taken a load of kitchen stuff for pressies upstairs to spare room.........took another lot to charity shop and more to go when she comes again on Thursday. Got to make the most of her.......she's a gem and is moving to Scotland in January  Oh what am I to do -thought I ??......then seems there's a woman across the road from us who does cleaning part time ! She's always offering to help out if we need it and she did mention cleaning but I thought she was just being kind (which she was).......so might have a word with her before new year.
Thursday I'm off into town to see what biccys and choccys I can get to fill up storage jars then I might start feeling more festive.:)

Wonder if the builder will have finished by then ? He's been hammering and drilling all day but not got as far as building cubicle for loo yet:( Still, it'll come..................:)

    Hope you're all ok:)

    Hope you're all ok:)

    Hello all :j
I've given up on making anything else now for Christmas. Think I've got enough stuff I've made plus what I'm 'upcycling' from kitchen and bathroom. Can't get motivated to be 'crafty' at the minute with builder in and out and now OH having a panic about which outside wall the downstairs will go on -worrying about drains etc. I know nothing about drains -not really my thing and I'm sure the builder and his plumber know what they're doing.
I've got the joy of picking out a toilet and wash basin -how exciting is that ??:rotfl: OH is too enthralled with his new saucepans I ordered for him...........I'm sure they're very nice but to be honest a saucepan is a saucepan to me............lol

    Hope youre all ok:)

It sounds weird Mary but make sure that you and OH test-sit on any toilet that takes your fancy. My landlord put our new bathroom in and it is too high, my poor little legs swing.

We must be popular to be spammed by the Ugg Boot Lady ...

The cottage is put together and wrapped up because I am completely unable to just sit down and relax when DH and the Beastling go out - took me almost an hour of sweating and swearing, why do they put so many of those little ties on children's toys?!??!

I have bought a vast amount of the advance-buy Christmas stuff using the "Mr/Professor T" codes on Grabbit, plus a lot of baking stuff that was on 342 and some green leafy veg at £5 off fruit and veg. I ordered to my mum's house, she's never ordered food online before so that'll be nice. The Beastling and I will be in the UK in early December to collect it, while they demolish my kitchen  we're not staying for the whole 12 days of building work though, that would just be too much for me, so we're kicking off the festive season with loads of meals out and microwave specials. Just what my burgeoning bottom needs. So it's mostly fresh and frozen stuff to buy now, which I can't do till the last minute. I'll post the kids' parcels the week after next so they don't all arrive ridiculously early, but probably the two others this week BECAUSE I AM JUST THAT EXCITED and I don't want to wait, then the two for the UK and the cards can come with me for cheapness of posting. I have purchased all my decorating stuff and will be making salt dough stars once I find the star-shaped biscuit cutter, they'll be magic cause we'll make them, put them out to dry and then make a wish over them and if we've been good enough then they'll turn gold overnight (nothing to do with the can of gold spray paint I have hidden away, nooooooooo).

The only thing that is irksome is that I want to book Santa's Grotto while we're in the UK and take both my parents but there's a maximum of 2 adults per child. How ridiculous
