Bit silly that Sugarspun, cant you borrow a child from somewhere? They must think adults dont "do" Christmas or something.
Im still slogging on with my sofa, got the bottom seat cushions done, and the back ones cut out ready to sew. Having a coffee with my friend this afternoon so I can get out for a break and its eldest GS's birthday today so we are going to see him this evening.
OH has got most of the painting done in the living room, hes working today and tomorrow so will finish it off over the weekend. We are thinking of may be changing the wallpaper over the chimney breast now as well lol. Depends if we can find something we both like. Would only need one roll for that bit. Not sure if we are going to do the rest of the room.
He told me yesterday he has ordered new curtains for the room. Wish I had had some say in it. I hate it when he does things like that. He would go mad if I ordered something for any of the room without asking his opinion first.0 -
More felt cutting last night for the advent calendar. Orange felt ordered too (free because a Pinecone payment arrived in my PayPal account - great timing! Managed to pick up some small piant brushes this morning ready for applying glue. Thinking I might brave covering my 3 snow flake shapes with some PVA glue and sprinkling glitter over them ready for sticking on the calendar later on. Need to brave the whole 'sewing the advent pockets on' pretty soon me thinks. I also need to consider what I can do about making the whole thing a bit more stable and unlikely to strectch - is it just me or does felt feel stretchy?! Thinking non felt material same size as the advent calendar attached to the back. Might see if 1) my mum has any and 2) if she's bung it through the automatic sewing machine for me for that bit!
Also ordered some beads to make a bracelet for my friend - been meaning to do it for ages but kept forgetting!
OH christmas shopping today with DD! Think it's his first meal out (lunchtime) with DD on their own. Looking forward to finding out how it went! Normally I'm juggling her feeding herself / trying to pinch mine while I try to eat mine before it goes cold!! He normally doesn't get involved!!! hehe Payback time?!
Love to all!

Hi Clare
I have been so busy lately, trying to get the sofa done and the decorating in the room at the same time. It is a big job to do. I have got all the cushion covers made now, and I have started stripping off the old fabric from the frame. Was at it all day today with hardly a break so I am tired out now. Wish I could go and have a lovely relaxing bath but I cant use the bath anymore, I cant maneuver myself out of it if I even managed to get in it that is. Dont know how we are going to manage tonight and tomorrow and may be the next day as well without the sofa to sit on. We do have a two seater one in the room but its not facing the tv and there isnt much room to change things about but OH will have to do something.0 -
Hello all :j
Had a blinding headache most of the day:( Cleaning girl isn't coming till tomorrow.....just as well as she's taking me to Tescos for stuff and I couldn't have faced it today. No builders in thank goodness so been nice and quiet..............tomorrow might be different tale so glad I'll be out in the morning.
Shan't get everything but it'll be a start and might give me incentive to get stuff wrapped.
I keep looking at our overflowing bookcase.......I'm sure there's some halfway decent books in there that might make a pressie or two..............(oh i do sound a meanie..............lol)
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I'm back and have bought a few more christmas bits today
Mr T's have this offer on all selection box sizes Buy 1 Get 2 Free. One box costs £3 meaning you get 3 for £3.This includes all sizes small treat sizes, medium, and finally the large 7 full size bars. In the large ones you get 21 full size cadbury bars for £3!
I bought 3 of the treat size ones for £3 or £1 each and then some mini Lindt reindeer to go into pots of gold. These cost 50p each or 4 for £1! The packs of 5 were £2. Also bought another Thorntons Santa for £4 at half price. So, although the shelves had been cleared of the large boxes I'm pretty sure they will refill the shelves.
Really need to stay away from the seasonal isle! I am determined not to buy any tins of biscuits this year and make some myself alongside the caramel nut wheels.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Sounds good to me Mum2one. I was hoping I might be able to do a fair, had an email off the woman in Rochester who runs the fabric shop saying did anyone want a stall there near Christmas, gave us an email address to apply and never heard back.0
