Welcome back 1more, your doing well, sounds like its the last few bits to get, can't believe its just over 4 weeks to xmas.
Miss Hoodie went back to school today, shes still pale, but not being poorly, apparently Monday half her class were off sick, sounds daft but feel better as theres a bug going round, that shes got it now and hopefully over with.
Slightly more mobile 2day! def baby steps, but in the tight direction. Did open the shed and shut it quickly, do need to start wrapping, but I'm one thats just got to get started and get it done in 2 days... but got 2 OU assisgnments in next couple of weeks.
Putting the finishing touches to Santas Challenge, as Miss Hoodie wants to help!!!! - so will be on in the evening!!
Quiet day here, xxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Cdsmiler, what lovely bargains! I totally missed all the Disney stuff and didn't buy a thing yesterday. Just as well really, the day before I was on the .com site just in time to see a less than half-price Les Paul guitar go on sale. I managed to accidentally purchase it for my husband, who not only loves it but knows it's coming and has been bragging nonstop about it to all his friends. So my bank account is now depleted of all the extra money I made from my ebay spree but I am hopeful it'll be worth it.
Am now patiently awaiting the Santa's ChallengeOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Clare - had e mail from amazon about Black Friday.........managed to resist it. After a forage about upstairs in the spare room I think I've got more than enough stuff. No idea what little grandson wants so I'll give his mum and dad the money to get whatever they think. He's got so much stuff already.:)
esmer -good to see you. Wondered where you were:)
Going to venture into town on Monday I think.........cleaning girl said she'll come with me -she can always come back and get the car if I don't feel like walking back.
I need to get some more ribbon, choccys for filling up jars etc. -Then I can get things properly sorted.(I hope.............lol)
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Santas Challenge - Nov
More a re-cap to start,
Prescriptions
double check that we all prescriptions checked, ordered, and next order reasy esp for going throu Xmas and New Yr, - the only lady at out surgery says 2days before they close are the worse, everyone remembers they need a prescription! Also check the chemist in your local area
Doctors Appointment
If your on a regular foillow up, book your appointments earlier rather than later...
First Aid Kit
To me basics, plasters, paracetmol, micropore (tape), melion (never spell it right), cold/flu items, lemsip, strepsils, cough medicine, if you got children, paracetamol and calpol. Some things your find your need others not.
Batteries
For presents, and also if you have a torch, handy to keep one safe, also handy to keep spares for those presents that are due to appear on Xmas Day minus batteries!
Candles
No, not for those lovely romantic nights in, incase of a power cut.... we don't want a baby boom Sept, Oct time!!
Just over 4 weeks to go
We all work differently, but break your tasks up, get help, remember we aren't superwoman, ok we are really, but let the men think they have a use!!;)
Powdered Milk / Coffee creamer
May sound a bit mad, but handy to have in the house, extra visitors, or if your finding your using more milk than normal, you've got an emergency backup
Spare Presents
Hopefully we all have a spare present, keep in handy just in case.
Cleaning
As this is Miss Hoodies section!!, she had to think wrong and hard about this, and even discussed it with Bailey, he pawed so we took that as a I like that one.
Fridge - Give it a good sort out and free up some space for the xmas goodies.
Double Check where you are for Xmas, and New Year.
You
We have all worked really hard this year, so have tried to keep this one gentle, the main point of "you", find yourself some treat time, whether its a glass of wine with a film, or even long soak in bubble bath, - HAVE A TREAT - Chocs can be added as well.
Christmas Eve
Anything that can be done Christmas Eve, fire away, whether thats doing the table, preping the veg, making the stuffing balls, - even if its a 30sec job, save that time on the day.
Santas Challenge December
I know this may sound a bit mad, but with next Santas challenge being Christmas Eve, its going to be a rush and family time, so pop the challenge on now, but will repost it again on Xmas Eve.
If you find theres anything you want to do now then fire away.
List
If you can get a list together for birthdays and Christmas presents, with a budget, (just to give you an idea of what yor going to need, or make money with the help of the sister thread.)
Christmas Day
the list - whos brought what, ready for thank you letters, emails etc, also very useful, if a present is not suitable, and needs recycling your not giving it back to the same person!
Batteries
Hopefully this won't be needed, but have some spare, a general rule of thumb, most cameras AA batteries, MP3 players tripple A batteries, most games C cell batteries.
Rubbish
Obviuosly recyle what we can for ourselves, cards they can be cut for gift tags, or if there a really nice design can be used on blank cards.
Boxes - I know it may sound daft, but if you've had a new TV, XBox360 etc, if you can dispose of it yourself, or fold up small, with stuff on top.
Check your collection dates as Xmas and New Year can affect the collections.
Wrapping paper - can be used for shredding in baskets or lining in hamper.
Father Christmas
Don't forget Father Christmas, with all the houses he has to visit, I'm sure he would like a whisky, and a mince pie...
Make sure Santa doesn't go off with the glass.... as 2 yrs ago Santa mislaid the glass, and when Miss Hoodie saw him, she asked him to make sure he returned the glass that Christmas!!
Sales
Whether its £1 or £100 that your hitting the sales with, have a rough idea of what you need, whether its cards, paper, any presents, or treats for yourself. Lists to the ready.
Childrens emergency pack
Less painful than it sounds!! if your doing the rounds of visiting, get a small colouring book, or a game that the children can play in car.
Also at home - have an emergency box, whether its craft items, or the old faithful colouring book
Cleaning Challenge
In all honesty ladies, with putting xmas prezzies away, sorting the tree, being Nigella in the kitchen, suppernanny to the children! we're usually the ones putting everything away, so we'll class that as the challenge.
One for everyone-
What makes Christmas for you, do you have a familiy tradation, share it with us all.
A massive massive thank you to everyone for all the support with the thread, heres to a successful 2012 thread x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the double challenge Mum2one and Miss Hoody xx I think I will get my OH to have a go at my fridge as I cant bend enough to get down there to reach all the shelves at the back.
We went up the town yesterday and bought the rest of our Christmas presents although I still have to get OH a few more bits and pieces just to make it look more. I am thinking of having a look on Asda or Sainsbury this morning and see if I can get a small delivery from one of them as the delivery charges are not that bad and I only have Co-op within walking distance, anything else and OH would have to take me in the car.
We also had a marathon wrapping session in the afternoon. OH was sorting and I was wrapping. Managed to get most of my family done, all except ED's bits which I can do today and OH's things. Then all we have left to wrap is his family's which isnt half as much as mine as I have a very big family.
YD broke her toe last night messing about in the kids park in the dark with her friends so we were up A&E for the evening. Thought we would be hours but as the toe was broken they saw her quite quickly and we were in and out in about an hour along with crutches which she is well proud of. It cost me a fortune in taxi fares though, came to nearly £20!! OH had been drinking so he couldnt drive us.0 -
Afternoon all
Had a nice day today, YD decided she would manage to hobble on her crutches to her friends house and is now going to stay overnight so I went up town this afternoon to meet my friends seeing as how I didnt have to stay in and wait on her instead.
I finished wrapping the rest of my presents this morning so just OH's family's to do now and I will have to wait for him to sort them out as he has things hidden everywhere and I dont want to come across something I shouldnt be looking at.
I was a bit disappointed with one thing we bought yesterday though, we bought a chocolate Santa for my son as an extra present as everyone else had something sweet and when we got home it had smashed into a thousand tiny pieces lol. The pieces didnt last long though as I was munching while wrapping.0 -
Hello all :j
mum2one - just read the challenges......crikey fair wore me out just looking at them:eek: Thank goodness its just me and OH so all we have to think about is medication -comes direct from chemist so no worries there
first aid stuff - already stocked up
food - not even sure what we're having yet -OH's dept.
Sorting out the fridge/freezer - nigh on impossible at the minute as the builders are still in that room creating muck and dust and racket
Cleaning - thats down to my gem of a cleaning girl
Extra ''in case pressies'' -checked spare room and there's loads of bits to spare
Thats about it for me -at the minute anyway.
Actually started wrapping this afternoon !!! Only 3 small pressies but its a start.......:)
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I think ours is good, but I'm going to stock up on flu remedies when in the UK. And plasters, for some reason they're ridiculously expensive here.
