Evening everyone and Hi to elsiepac xx

We got our wrapping paper out if the loft the other day but thats as far as its gone so far. I have been busy doing some other jobs, had some net curtains to take up for FIL, they took me all morning. I have also been planning how to re-cover our sofa instead of buying a new one. We looked everywhere but couldnt find one in our price range that was suitable, they were either ugly or uncomfortable.

    Hope everyone is ok xx

26 people plus their kids invited to Boxing Day Brunch.

Call placed to the kitchen people to confirm that they're coming on Monday to put in my new kitchen. They say no. Not only are they not coming on Monday, but the bits of my kitchen have not arrived in the warehouse and they have no ETA for them and hence no date for my kitchen.

    Hello all :j
sugarspun -what a nuisance (to say the least) about your kitchen -keep on at them, on and on and on.
Having my new kitchen was upheavel enough......seems to have gone on and on but mainly because a lot of re-wiring needed doing before work could start them OH wanted washing machine moving to our back room where the downstairs loo is going so had to get plumber and electrician - again - to sort that. Kitchen in, then old pantry out -waited for plaster to fill the gaps so that painting could be done and tiling. This has taken weeks...........Electrician back again today (we've almost had total rewire !) and tomorrow the floor folk are coming -hooray :T Then the pine dresser can go back against the wall and all the boxes of stuff I keep tripping over can be sorted through of what to keep and what not -already had a bit of a sift through and I'll have enough stuff to do some nice 'kitchen type hampers'.............I might now just get a bit festive when I've sorted out who's having what....................lol:)

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi everyone

I got OH to order some more bits for Son's Thai hamper on our Tesco shop for this month. The order should come on Friday. There are still a couple of bits I wanted to get that are named in some of the recipes but I have not had any luck finding them on the Tesco site. I will have to get him to take me to the other supermarkets and have a look and see if they do them.

I bought myself a new top this morning to go under the jacket I made from my fabric. It is a plain black vest as most of it wont be on show just the bottom half. I also found a pair of black trousers in my wardrobe that I had forgotten I had and they still fitted so I have a nice outfit to wear for ED's 30th on Thursday.

I won some fabric last night on Ebay which I am hoping will come tomorrow, it will be the first of many orders I have to make of things to buy to recover our sofa. OH is paying the rest of the money into my bank on Thursday so I can order the rest of it. I am well excited lol.

I wrapped up ED's birthday presents earlier. I found some lovely pink and white polkadot wrapping paper in Card Factory this morning. I wrapped up the bottle of champagne by just standing the bottle in the middle and drawing up all the edges to the neck of the bottle and putting some sticky tape round it then I did the same again with a square of cello wrap and put some curly ribbon round it in pink and silver and a nice bow. It looks really nice. I have had a bit of a problem though with bows lately and them not sticking. I cello wrapped a load of mugs the other week which have chocolate coins in them. I did them the same with the pointy bits all up in the air and the ribbon tied around the top but the bows kept falling off (I have a box full of those ones that come with the sticky bit on the back you peel off). I tried lots of different things including some new sticky pads but still they fell off so tonight I brought them down while doing ED's bottle and stuck them on with Evo stick glue. Looks like it has done the job this time.

The various bits haven't arrived from the warehouse, so there's no chance of getting anything done till they turn up.

The brunch menu has been revised a bit so it is compatible with the less-than-ideal kitchen, but before the end of November we will have to go through the 25ish boxes in my living room and move all the non-electrical, non-food ones into the garage and the food and electrical ones into the basement. I need my living room for work and for tree decorating! Have been sorting my website tonight, it is coming together.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening :)

    How was it mum2one?

Thank you all, it was a hit and miss, the good news we've got the hearing postponed till Jan, so at least we can get through xmas without any hassle, but we dropped the bombshell from hell, as all the upset, the GP had referred Miss Hoodie for mental health assesment, as it was the only way round to her getting councelling and support, when that came out in court, the magistates said that her health is priority, but his lordships solicitor was trying to say its all us, and another block to the case. The magistarates have said next hearing needs to be a final one, allocated a whole day, I'll be a ngtmare by then, inbetween its getting conformation and see whats happening with Miss Hoodie. Guess its a waiting game, don't know whether he will drag his family out of the woodwork as witnesses. In a way be good to get a final answer, as Miss Hoodies only 9, shes too young to give evidence, so thats one big relief. Just want it done with so we can get on with our lives. He did a good one had a temper tantrum in the court room, so that didn't go down well.

Sugarspun, I do not envy 25 for brunch, hope the kitchen gets sorted soon, and Mary, hope hubby goes on ok, and the kitchen sounds like its coming together slowly. Love the sound of the kitche hampers.
Got a couple of OU assisgnments to do by middle next week, then it will be start the christmas wrapping and cards.

Ended up doing a Body Shop order last night, for stocking fillers for Miss Hoodie, it was discounts everywhere, got a £50 order down to £23, so v pleased.
Got Shea scrub and matching body butter for friend they worked out £1, instead of £25, some lip balms for Miss Hooodie, 3 4 2, and some mini present cubes, £6 each, but got 4 for £16. Even if they end up on bday pile, or my toilettry stock!!

Don't know if anyone has seen todays paper, but there was an advert in all Tesco christmas presents half price, not sure how long its on for.

    xxx

Mum2one - glad they had left it all till after Christmas, will give you a few weeks to enjoy yourselves and try to forget about it all for a while. What a p*at having a temper tantrum in the court lol.

Not up to much today, just waiting for some deliveries to come, two for me and a few for OH. Mine are not xmas pressies, just my fabric and a netbook for YD. OH has some presents coming, he has ordered his Mum a hamper from M&S and a couple of other bits.

    Hi all!

Mum2one - sounds like Monday went ok (as ok as it could!). Him having a tantrum wont do him any good!! lol Hugs for you and Miss Hoodie!

    elsiepac - welcome!!

SUgarspun - Oh my word!!!! Well done for not panicing!!!

MSE weekend - inlaws were down so had a nice lazy day on Saturday out looking around shops and things and they bought lunch. Then off to a FREE fireworks display in Caerphilly (amazing - all based around the castle!!) - can't fault it. Then they bought us Sunday lunch!
Oh and had my hair done for free Friday in the college where I work - hair students did it - ready for the Murdery Mystery I was acting in in the evening.

Monday was supposed to be having a makeover and photo shoot with my friend (buy a gift voucher) but they cancelled on SUnday due to staffing?? Pain in the backside as I'd swapped my day off and organised child care.....but worked out right in the end as they are giving us a £100 voucher for photos after the shoot as a sorry! Yeay! Will rebook it for January now.

Last night was quite productive too - OH and I got out all the stuff for DD and we've worked out what else we need to get. Nothing too much, so we're on top of things! Oh and got a nice £20 coat from Tesco!!

    Slowly getting there.
