Ok, me again. I trust your opinions ladies (mostly ladies?!), and was wondering if I was missing anything from the following list of pressies for my DD. She's 2 one week before Xmas, so we're looking at Christmas and Birthday pressies. Plus this list is the one I'll be sending out to quite a few friends and family who have asked what we want them to get her. So once people have chosen things off the list, I'm wondering if we'll run out of things, or whether the general 'clothes and books' bit at the bottom will make up for that.

Basically, ignoring most of my ramblings, is there anything any of you got for your children around this age that you'd recommend that ISN'T on our list.

FunPod (for her to stand in in the kitchen - look it up, it's fab, but expensive! Hoping in laws will buy... lol)
Small table and Chair (for drawing, eating snacks at etc)
    Play Kitchen
Charm (for her bracelet that we bought her last year)
    Mini Trampoline
    Dolls Pushchair
    Trike
    Big Aqua Draw http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tomy-Aquadoodle-Classic-Drawing-Toy/dp/B001F7AF4I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315258941&sr=8-1
Duplo (suggesting two types - Winnie the Pooh and a Play with Numbers)
Play Dough, Crayon, Pens & Paint set http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9366659/c_1/1|category_root|Toys+and+games|14417629/c_2/2|14417629|Creative+and+discovery+toys|14417805.htm
    Shopping List Game http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0007VTA5S/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_5?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
    Dressing up CLothes (?)
Books & Clothes (including new winter coat)

Now, I know that looks a lot, but when we count us, my parents, inlaws, sis in law, my bro & his girlfriend, friends x 2, aunt, my nan...all of whom will be buying a pressie for birthday AND xmas.......that's 9 people/couples, 2 pressies each.....

So really just looking for anything I might have missed that's obvious - small things welcome. Obviously, some people might get her something not off the list, but they're all pretty good.... (saves her getting doubles of anything!!)

(On a side, I've got her some PJs for Xmas eve, will probably do her some reindeer food, new toothbrush, usual bits, and for her stocking got a small jingle bell type instrument, will probably get her some chocolate, a book...not sure what else.)

Sorry, I know I'm repeating myself, but any thoughts or ideas would be great! Thank you!!

CDsmiler - clare your welcome, at 2 i would add a sleigh to the list ready for the snow we get after xmas and sleigh sell so quick. It lasts for years and my twins would get it out every year. When they were little they just wanted to be pulled everywhere and as they got a bit bigger they sat in it. And when they were old enough they were flying down the mountains...lol

I know what you mean about things they get every year money penny. Mine used to have lucky bags off santa every year. I wouldnt wrap them, they were just the first things they`d spy coming down to the presents. I didnt give them one last year (they were 18) but after opening the presents I heard them saying they were disappointed they didnt have a lucky bag, it wasnt the same.......:rotfl: so this year I`ve bought the lucky bag and it will take pride of place in the front of the pile...

  • mine sit together opening stockings we said that stocking could be opened once they wake but no one is alloweddownstairs where atna leaves the pressies without us. been lucky ours have never been early risers. first one up usually takes their stocking into anothers bedroom gathering siblings on the way and they sit comparing, or if they know were up they invade our bed. they always feel the presents and try to guess, it seems to be a competition to see who can suss out the toothbrush first.
BTW santa has never done gift tags so each stocking is wrapped in different paper so they know which sack down stairs is theres. they go down clutching a piece of paper each and compare to find whos bag is whos.
mine are not little the ages are 11, 16 19 and 22 the eldests left home but still wants a stocking with a toothbrush LOL

it was only a couple of years ago the eldest put her arm round me and said in a really careful way "mum do you know the truth about santa?"
she said shed never once seen me buy a pressie or spotted paper round the house and i had such an air of excitement she wasnt sure if her poor dad was doing it all to keep the magic going for me as well as them. up untill then none of mine have ever said they dont believe.

christmas magic is all about the traditions you make and carry on for your family. if it works for you and makes everyone happy stick with it. what works for one wont work for someone else.

    Hello all :j

What a blowy day............ Thought the wheelie bin was going to take off !!

OH got taken to his old bossess FIL's funeral today then went to little supermarket near the church so he's trying really hard to get back to 'normality'
I was just tidying up foster daughters little basket of baby blanket, baby coat and little sock monkey when she came in so had to hide it quick ! Forgot she's on maternity leave now. Got it all sorted once she'd gone. Just need some ribbon for baby coat now.
Did get 3 little fabric xmas trees done to go with the hearts and little stocking I've done..........another stocking I think then that'll do for that lot.............then I'll do the soft tree.
Sort of 'thankyou' extra xmas pressie for youngest son for keeping me on planet earth and sane (well sort of) while OH was in hospital. He always knew the right thing to say somehow.

Clare - I'd love to show you what I've done and I've got a camera now.............just need to work out how to take piccys and put them on here........brain been on other things as you know and think neighbours daughter will have to help out with it.........my old brains not very good with this modern tech stuff.................lol

Hope you're all well and keeping the hatches battened in this weather:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hiya all - sorry went awol again - was trying hard to keep up, do the money making on the other thread and keep DD occupied during the hols too.

Hello to any newbies (haven't got time to catch up with posts I've missed).

Mary - good to hear OH is getting out and about and trying to get things back to normal.

Clare - fab list - and I second Susan's idea, a sledge would be fab.

Mrs Moneypenny - your post brought a tear to my eye then. You sound just like me. Santa doesn't do tags, and both kids pressies are wrapped in their own paper. Christmas is about the love, and making time for each other, the pressies are second. Both kids (20 and 8) get new Christmas pj's but I've never thought of new toothbrushes (bad mum). They get get when they need them of course - I just didn't think of them for stockings. Great idea xxx
