mum2one - great minds!! We were thinking of getting her a pram funnily enough! We're going to buy a cheap 'baby' doll (she loves the one at the child minders), one where it doesn't matter if she dumps it in a puddle or something, for NOW (so not fair her birthday being so close to Christmas!). Then maybe some accessories to go with.

mary - will be reading back tomorrow to catch up! Hope you're both good.

    Hello all :j
OH home but you might know it wouldnt go smoothly..............got to the hospital and all his meds weren't there. Nurse couldn't do anything as she can't prescribe so painkiller he needed he had to go without, protein drinks weren't on his list either not were potassium tablets...........despite lengthy discussion about all this with a doctor at lunchtime yesterday.
So, went off to surgery this morning -receptionist made notes of everything as nothing had been sent through to the surgery.......I had to ring hospital while I was there to get the name of the protein drink needed and that seemed to take an age.....different nurse who kept insisting he hadn't had it.......I kept telling her he had, I sat and watched him have it and the dietician said he had to take it regularly to get his weight back ! Pain relief needed nurse had to admit in the end that he'd been having it while in hospital so it should be on his list. Our GP was off for the day -just my luck-and doctor on call has given the protein drinks but nothing else. Receptionist (different one this time and not too helpful) says to phone back at 6pm !!
OH had bit of a rough night last night......maybe partly due to adjusting to being home, plus lack of the pain relief he should have had.
The one thing the hospital did get right (after I'd had a go about it before we left) was arranging a nurse to come out and change his dressings !
I've asked for our GP to either visit of or phone tomorrow. Have to sort this out for OH's sake (as well as my sanity!)
This rate I'll be on page 8 of my complaints !

Sorry for winge..........still, least we had some sunshine today so OH could sit in the garden -till heavens opened this afternoon.............no sooner got in all the wet cushions than it left off......lol

    Hope you're all ok:)

Mary - glad OH is home, but why can't they manage anything without so many mix-ups?! I'm getting frustrated for you so it must be driving you crazy

CDsmiler - I know what you mean about December birthdays. DS is right at the end of November and this baby is due 27th December, I didn't plan that very well :o. For your DD, does she like dressing up? For my boy's 2nd birthday we got him lots of dressing up outfits and accessories and put them all in a special box. A lot of it I got second hand and at a fraction of the price, they looked brand new and he couldn't care less whether they came from a shop or car boot sales!

At last - rang at 6 and doctor on call had done prescription but needed to flap about as the chemist closed at 6.30pm and I can't exactly ''run'' down there............lol
So, very kind young girl who works there popped it in on the way home..........could have wept and hugged her:T So at least OH should get decent nights sleep.............and so might I...........lol:)

He's still very tired and not up to much but thats to be expected really. I'd got him some pyjamas.........the t-shirt and jog bottom sort and he did actually get around to putting them on -more like a lounging around outfit than 'going to bed wear'. I only got them as I didn't know how long he'd be in there for.............they arrive the day he comes home..............lol:rotfl:

Thank you everyone for welcome back :-)
Mary- not managed to read back through all posts but wanted to send you big hugs, sounds like things are pretty tough at the moment. So glad you managed to get OH meds finally though- hoping tonight is easier for you both.
CDsmiler - another idea (if not been suggested already) is a tea set my dd's (now 6 and 3) still can spend hours playing with theirs. In fact set so worn now may look at another for dd birhday in sept.
Christmas plans starting to come together (on hol at mo so will look at challenges when home) Going to get kids to make chocs/truffles/fudge for all godparents and looking at some possible hamper ideas for others. Also planning fun with elves that visit us every dec x

I'm glad he got his meds sorted Mary. I hope you both get a better night's sleep. It'll do you both good. :)

Clare - now the summer (what summer) is nearly over you can get loads of garden toy bargains. How about a toy house? Either the little tikes sort (solid) or a pop up one (like at ELC) she can play inside, in the winter and it can go in the garden after. Another thing, both my DD's had one for their second Bdays - a pretend kitchen, with pots and pans etc. Tq's post reminded me of it. :)

Tq - ooh we have an elf too - Jingles. He's bringing his wife to visit this year :) (are we mad or what? I love it more than DD does :D )

    Evening all

I have had a busy day decorating at my Dad's again. I got some of the wallpaper up. It was so warm though, the sweat was pouring lol. Was 30 degrees in the car on the way home. Supposed to cool down and rain tomorrow.

Mary, glad OH is home and you are getting sorted, such a kerfuffle though isnt it.
