    Hi everyone

Rufus, I've never heard of the Shard. What an ingenious idea to make for your OH, you are very creative indeed, and as a money box as well!

Sugar spun, so glad the birthday girl loved her pram and well done on your money neutral this year.

Elysia thanks for the wishes for DS, when he was going 2 trains were cancelled so if something similar happens on the way back he could end up at any time. How are things with you?

Mary, not surprising you had to lie down after everything going on for you, I'm going to follow your lead and attempt to have a quick lie down before DS comes home, I've got a headache too I think it is hunger although my sinuses are playing up. This sounds like hypochondriac's corner LOL

Clare I think you've had lots of ideas for the birthday, I've never bought presents for girls so have no clue.

Presents - Last weekend I handed over the Summer cash envelopes for DS2 and have been looking ahead to the ones I've already made for Christmas. All done. For his birthday in Jan 2012 I've done about half. What I keep finding is fantastic photos of cakes, meals etc inside magazines and I'm hoarding them mainly for myself. I love some of them that much that I've made myself collages of cakes LOL

In 2010 I had taken loads of photos (not digital) and planned to put them into albums for DS2 and my dad. However as ex FIL died in the summer and he was featured in a lot of the photos, I didn't go ahead so just handed dad some of the photos loose as I didn't have enough for the album. Dad and xFIL were really good friends.

This year I'm not sure about in an album for DS2 because whenever I've put photos into an album (with names on the back) the care home have taken them out to make collages for DS2's bedroom wall. So I might have to have a word in advance. I'll have to start making a list because otherwise I'll forget.

How are your lists getting on girls?

My close work colleague and I have a phrase "can open....worms everywhere!" for when we are doing one of those projects when one problem leads to another which leads to another! I really want to make her a Mug with it on for when I leave!

    Hi everyone,

Sorry to go MIA had a crisis

DD who lives in wales (200mile away) was thrown out of her house, landlord wanted it back for his daughter. He did it all properly, even gave her 3 months notice but she didnt tell me until the weds before and she was out on the monday.

I had to dash to wales as she couldnt find any accomodation being 18 and sort her out. Not easy when landlords only do 21 and above
(she wanted to stay in wales) and she had £5 to her name.....

Well at 10pm friday night got her a house , had to pay 6 months in advance :( and she has the tenancy for 6 months to see how it goes. Managed to find some one to move her on saturday.

So crisis over she happy as can be as she loves wales and i`m absolutely skint as you can imagine.

But i`m back home now, i have a doctors appointment today and hospital next tuesday.

Cdsmiler - hi nice to see you back, glad you had a great holiday and as regards presents for 2 year olds, start looking on gumtree, freecycle or yellow paper, and get an outdoor shed or wendy house, mine lived in there when they were 2-4 all summer. They had table and chairs which i picked up in morrissons cheap. Think theres some on grabbit board in B&Q, they had a kitchen, pots and pans, a tset, a basket with groceries and a till. They had a bit of a cafe going and when there mates came to play they used money to pay , was very funny....

mary - what good news OH is home - lets hope he takes it easy and mends soon. And you dont over do it lady

pips mum i seen those travel mugs somewhere...i`ll put my thinking cap on, i`m sure it was amazon . no it was asda £8 but perhaps someone knows a cheaper place

1more - welcome, join in, more the merrier, you can get ipad 2`s on gumtree, they`re 2nd hand but peeps are selling them that they bought and have hardle used, i picked one up for £200

mum2one - hope your having a good holiday

    angela / rufus ....whats shard?

    happy birthday - baby sugarspun

elysia - tut tut on the challenges - lol x

hi money penny - flying out? Have you got a plane? lol

    Hi all

Susan, sorry to hear about all the last moment panic with DD, what a relief you managed to get it all sorted. It's strange how these things tend to work out in the end because when you think about it, you might not have been available or even have the money spare.

Hope the doctor's visit goes well.

Welcome Anny and 1more? :j Hope you enjoy all our banter and challenges. What is your situation Anny, how many to buy for?

Pips mum, that's a good idea for your friend.

Mary, sorry to hear about OH, I suppose after all he's been through it's likely to happen.

Well, DS didn't turn up in the night, strange because I could have sworn I heard the door bell going a few times so I went to the door. Must be the tinnititis again.

I eventually dug out the paper where I'd jotted down his flights, and there is no way he could have got home by 1 am. I tried ringing him a few moments ago and didn't get a reply.

So either he was on that holiday company that went bust, or he's staying in London for a while before coming home. Wish he'd understand I'm going to be concerned if he doesn't make contact.

He was very evasive before he left about his arrangements and I had to prise out the flight numbers in case of emergencies, but I didn't make a note of the day he was returning. It was ex on Sunday (after having to get involved with DS after the trains kept getting cancelled) that told me DS had told him Thursday.

Susan - glad you got your daughter sorted. The Shard is a building that is being built in London, its called the Shard becasue it looks like a shard of glass. I think its going to be the tallest building in Europe when its finished. OH is mad on tall buildings for some reason.

Mary - hope you get the zipped files sorted xx

Anglea - hope you hear from your son, I would be just as worried if I hadnt heard anything and its true, they dont stop to think that you might be worrying xx

    Hello to the newcomers xx

We had our visitor most of the day but he has gone now. I managed to get a bit of sewing done this morning before he came so I could get some more bags finished for my shop.

    Hello Newbies -

1more - it sounds like you've got your hands full and quite a list there. We'll all help you. We post loads of bargains when we see them and there are challenges on the 24th of the month to help get us organised.

Anglea - I'm fine thank you. Other thread keeping me busy, but I'm trying to pop in more.

Susan - It's hard coming up with these challenges every month. ;) I'm glad you're ok - I worry about you when you go awol.

Clare - they've got some bits for little girls in Wilkinsons 75% off sale. ;)

Mary - I'm sorry to hear OH not feeling too good today.

Mum2one is quiet lately - I do hope everythings ok.
