CDsmiler - I know what you mean about December birthdays. DS is right at the end of November and this baby is due 27th December, I didn't plan that very well :o. For your DD, does she like dressing up? For my boy's 2nd birthday we got him lots of dressing up outfits and accessories and put them all in a special box. A lot of it I got second hand and at a fraction of the price, they looked brand new and he couldn't care less whether they came from a shop or car boot sales!

Ooo congratulations!! Dressing up - not really got anything for her to dress up in so no idea if she likes that type of thing! She does call some of her clothes 'pretty' and goes on about shoes (she's only 19 months!!!!) - though I think he obsession with shoes is that she knows that when she's got shoes on she's going outside! Good idea though, thanks.

tq16 - Tea set a great idea. In fact I picked one up from one of those book people type things in work for £3 but it's not plastic (china style!) - do I risk it with a 2 year old?! lol to be fair she LOVES a 'cupa tea', and she can be quite gentle..... Forgot I had it til you said!! :T

elysia - summer house is a great idea, but will have to check with my parents - our house isn't big enough so would have to live at thiers! Maybe pop up would be the best solution as could then be in either house!
Kitchen - I was wondering about one of those, but wondered if she was a bit young? Maybe not.....

Thank you all for all your suggestions!! They're great! Also thinking of one of those small trampolines with a handle?? (for indoors!)

Mary - glad OH is home and slowly settling back to normal!
Hope everyone with court cases has positive news and arn't too stressed!

    Hi all

Mary so glad OH is home and his meds are sorted, what about the protein drinks? I've seen them in the shops in case you get desperate they can be bought somewhere I remember mum had them in hospital and to take home and I presumed you could only get them there.

Freezer door - when DS come home some weeks back from his rented house, he brought all the contents of his freezer and during a very long hot car journey most of it had nearly defrosted. I just shoved it in my freezer and it tasted as normal. The only problem is the contents of each bag clumped together so when I wanted to use it, I've had to use a wooden mallet to break up it up :)

Nicky you are going to have your hands full later this year.

Mum2one, I'm always astounded at all the presents you make everyone, all your neighbours, at the holiday centres, doctors etc as well as for your family. :T

Rufus well done on the decorating, especially in the hot weather.

I've got DS coming home from his overseas break in the early hours of the morning so hope I don't forget and get scared hearing the doorbell going as he didn't take his keys.

    Afternoon everyone

We had a little walk up the town this afternoon, got a bit wet with the rain but it was so warm out anyway it didnt matter too much getting wet, in fact it cooled us off a bit. I have thought of another present to do for OH for his birthday (Saturday). He loves all these tall sky scrapers and is fascinated by the Shard going up in London at the moment. It opens next summer and he really wants to go up to the observation tower so I went in Wilkinson's while we were up the town and bought a square shaped kilner jar (£1.75) and then this afternoon I have been playing around with the photo editing software. I copied some pics of the Shard and what it is supposed to look like then I superimposed some photos of OH so it looked like he was actually in the building. I cant print them out until the morning as he is here lurking around lol but once they are printed I will cut them out and stick them on the sides of the jar. One photo has a line going up the side and is marked off in £10s so he can fill it in and see how much he has saved. I have reckoned on him having £100 by next summer and I am going to put £10 in to start him off.

We have OH's brother coming tomorrow morning for a flying visit, then Saturday his Mum is coming and we are going out for lunch with her and OH's Dad. Then on Sunday we are going to ED's to take GD's birthday presents round.

I have quite a bit of hand sewing to do so I will have something to do this evening while watching TV. I have been making some more bags for the shop and hope I can get them finished off tonight apart from the straps and may be I can do them tomorrow evening after our guest has gone home.

It is my small daughter's second birthday today :D

Hit of the day has been her baby-sized pushchair, it was £7 and she loves it. I knew she would; she's seen them at other people's houses and loves them. Actually, one of those is a perfect gift for a child, they seem to absolutely love them and all Wee Beastie's toddler friends (and older kids) fight over them.

In other exciting news, my ebay sales are doing fantastically well, over £221 so far so I am neutral for 2011 and 2012 so far and will hopefully have enough money to cover the DD to DH gift I forgot for Christmas :)

Congratulations and happy birthday mini Sugarspun - I hope you're all having a lovely day.

Rufus - are you nearly done, or do you have to go back and finish off? I like that idea about the money box. Brilliant!

Anglea - I hope DS has a safe journey.

Mary - I'm glad meds are sorted - you can concentrate on OH getting better now.

Mrs Moneypenny - Hiya. How are you hun? You always seem to be in a rush. :)

Clare a kitchen would be brilliant, just like a teaset, she'll be copying you cooking. I was going to mention the trampette, but my DD was very tall for her age, I wasn't sure if it was suitable for littlies, but she loved hers at just 2 yrs old.

Angela............got the protein drinks today. Our GP rang up and sorted out potassium tablets as well so we've got them. Friend went and picked them up.
Course the drinks are choc and strawberry flavoured.............and oh hates fruity stuff...........lol Still, he'll have them and then I'll ask for the Vanilla ones -he actually likes those. I've seen those in the chemist but thought best stick to what he'd been having just to be on safe side.
He cooked dinner tonight, mainly because he was bored..............lol And he phoned his mum.......thats a first in a while......normally it's passed over to me but he actually sounded quite cheerful so here's hoping:)

I had to have a lie down for couple of hours lunchtime, raging head so OH told me to go back to bed............was ok till builders next door started banging on walls.............lol Still, the rest did me good. Think it was all just catching up on me as these things do:)

Elysia - I still have loads to do, I haven't finished the downstairs yet, its the hall I am doing so all up the stairs and the upstairs landing as well. Think next time I go I could get the upstairs finished and the rest of the down stairs and then I will have a go at the stairs another day or wait till my sister can get down again to help me.
