elysia - thanks. I'm trying not to worry and get him not to. Didn't know whether it was what seems endless operations he's had or his thinning bones thats caused such a drop. First time anyones bothered to weigh him in ages. I know I lost a lot of weight when I got osteopisis and he's got similar/same.
Different consultant now he's changed wards -thats 4 he's had all for the same thing -daft or what!"

hello, would it be okay if I joined?! I don't have children, still live at home with my parents and don't have many people to buy christmas things for but i'd love to get just that little bit more organised and 'thifty' with what i do spend money on, especially as this is my first year in full time employment since graduating last year :) want to start my 'working life' on the right foot! so i hope it's okay :)

    Pick a room
I really need to do this in my bedroom, it's overflowing with 'stuff'! I'm sure there's things in there i could sell on ebay if i look hard enough!

    Sales
might trawl through these and see what bargain presents I can find :)

    Revamp the Xmas List
This will also have to be done!

    :)

Hiya ALJA - you are most welcome hun. The more the merrier. :D

This is the perfect time to join - you need to get into the thrifty habits now. It's better to be careful with money in the beginning than to worry about it when you have thousands of pounds worth of debt. ;)

You're in the right place - Mum2one (who runs the thread) will soon have you bought, and wrapped. You'll be sitting there, laughing at everyone running around like headless chickens come December. ;)

If you need to make a bit extra cash - the money making thread will help you do that too. (sorry for the blatent plug guys) :D

    Woohoo Christmas is coming. :D:D:D

elysia2003 - Thank you! I have loads of student debt, but still that's a lot different to 'usual' debt, so being thrifty with my money will help pay this off over time too without leaving me out of pocket! :) It would be great to be the one laughing at others once i've sorted my pressies too! hehe!

    i LOVE Christmas! :D

Hi everyone, welcome to the new ones and welcome back to the ones returning, lovely to have you all here xx

I got back yesterday afternoon from my Dads. We managed to get all the old wallpaper stripped off and all the painting done with a day to spare. Only trouble was we hadn't got the new wall paper or we could have made a start and there were no shops within walking distance to get any so had an easy morning yesterday. My BIL came over lunch time and we all went out for lunch then he took us to B&Q and Dad got his wall paper so its there ready for next time I go over.

OH is working today and tomorrow then hes off till next Wednesday. Its his birthday this weekend and GD's on same day. We will be taking her presents round a bit earlier as we are going out on OH's birthday with his Mum and Dad (although it might end up being a BBQ at home is the weather's nice).

Hope everyone is well, Mary, I have been thinking of you while I was away xx

    Hello all :j

Well, doctor did ward round, looked at OH, poked and prodded stomach, OH mentioned weight loss, doctor made no comment........looked at his stitches and one of thems been weeping.........made no comment about that either. Just said we'll see how you are in couple of days. Nothing mentioned about the blood tests he had last week or the ctscan and all the panic over that. Different doctor this time..........4th so far for same thing..........maybe he hadn't read the notes ?

Debated whether to make another button necklace but washed bathroom sink instead...........lol
I can do that sitting on the stool upstairs so it wasn't too bad. Lovely day so washing to go out then might pick up my knitting and sit outside and do it.

    Hope you're all ok:)

think doctor needs reminding its a good idea to read the notes expecially given what your poor DH has been through.

i think sitting outside enjoying the sun with your knitting sounds a lovely idea in fact i may join you in my own garden

Ahh that sounds nice you two. I don't have any knitting on the go, but I might join you with some cross stitching later.

ALJA - DD is starting her third year of Uni in Sept, so I know what you mean. ;) It's wonderful seeing everyone rushing in December when we're all finished.

I've had a good weekend for Christmas shopping and bought DD2 some toys from Tesco for £42 (original cost £88). She'll be so excited - It's just what she wants. :D

  • Hello ALJA

Welcome back Pips Mum and TQ.

Thanks Angela i forgot i posted about my wooden chests before so will look back :T

Well done Sugarspun on the ebay.

Mary you and your poor oh have been through so much. It is such a nuisance when you get different drs and they dont know or bother to read the medical history. I had a big operation back in Feb and to be honest i cannot praise my local cardio hospital enough. I was extremely poorly at the time and had quite a rare condition but the whole ward was well looked after and consistantly had same drs and consultants which i think makes a massive difference. You could always phone and speak to the ward sister or matron adn ask about your husband results. They should be able to tell you if not ask if they are available to talk to you when you next go in to visit.

I have done very well this week. I have now got all 3 of my daughters main presents brought thanks to various daily deals on Ebay and other shops promotions. Have also brought jeans, hoodies, t-shirts and trainers too for my son over last 3 week when they have been on offer on Ebays daily deals (all new from sellers like M&M direct etc). Also my local Body shop consultant who is also a friend was running a Facebook promotion of £100 worth of stuff for £30. The first one to repond got the offer. Thats was me so have brought loads to use and for hampers. Very pleased :T

I wanted to buy some personalised bits and more importantly i like their wrapping paper sets from Studio cards or Ace but i have to set upn a credit account which i do not want to do. Is there Any other places that sell similar wrapping trio sets and items ????
