Hello all :j
Well, OH's hospital experience is turning into a right comedy of errors !
Later on yesterday afternoon he felt bit better so decided to come home and discharge papers were all sorted for him to come back this morning.
He was on the phone telling me all this around tea time when young doctor turned up..........she said he was anemic and needed a blood transfusion - 2 pints  Honest, he's been there 7 days and its taken that long to work that out - thats without the previous hospital op when I'd have felt sure anything like that would have showed up. Then doc had to send sample of blood off to get blood group..........thats already in his notes so all doc had to do was read them. I was so mad  What are they messing about at. So, now I don't know when he's coming home...........he's thinking either tomorrow night or monday morning but I daren't count on anything. Tried to find out from hospital this morning why he should need that much blood but no-one about to answer all my ''why'' queries..........won't even give me the name of the doctor in charge ! Can't get in as no transport.......soonest would be next Tuesday -hopefully he'll be home by them.
So..........the saga continues..................:(
Sorry to go on about it but its really bugging me now
Hope you're all okI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi all
Mary, not surprising you have a problem with it all. Very confusing for patients and their families.
Is OH using the hospital gowns or does he have his own clothing?
Shame you can't get in to visit.
I'm getting frustrated by the computer. Not only lost all my bookmarks, passwords etc but now all the font is coming up so tiny that my eyes are hurting trying to change them - but they won't stay put. And the reply box is tiny so I can't remember what I've just written.
So I altered the font for writing this message but the font for everything else on this page is ridiculously small.
I've got 2 birthdays coming up, must remember to do them in advance.
mum2one, so I'm not the only one that has started legal proceedings without realising about the insurance. I bet loads of people miss out on crucial aspect of their insurance. I know for years I used to pay for accidental damages without realising I was covered. I had imagined accident was meaning something entirely different it was only after hearing a friend tell me what she had claimed for that I had a lightbulb moment.

Anglea - your font on your message looks tiny to me up to all the other posts. Wonder what can be going on with it all.
Mary - feel so sorry for you both, you are having such a rough time of it. May be you should write a book about it all, bet people wouldnt believe it was for real.
Eldest daughter gave youngest daughter three bags of lovely clothes so she is happy she will have some nice things for her holiday and for summer. I finished her outfit and she got some guns in 99p store. Just need to remind her later on to put them in a bag while going to and from the party and not to wear them in the holsters lol. There were a couple of kids playing with toy guns in the park last year and the police were called and they turned up with the armed police. Kids were about 8 or 9 year olds. Suppose they have to be careful.
Going to see my Dad tomorrow, havent been to his house for a while now as saw him at my brother's party the other week and again at bro's house last week. Weather is lovely here today, OH been painting front of house so stands out from the rest of the street now.
Hope you all have a nice weekend, Rufus xx0 -
Angela - OH has some clothes and he said they'll do. He's able to shower and not as though he's doing anything to get them dirty. We both quite thought he'd be home by now. He's had one pint of blood and now has to wait 5 hours, have another blood test before he has the other one. I can get in Tuesday evening to see him and he says he sees that as his ''escape route''...........lol Reckons he'll come back with me and neighbour. I do hope so.
Hope you get things sorted with passwords and stuff. Such a nuisance when things like that happen
rufus - I'm writing all of it in my daily journal.......every little bit of it -need to keep a record in case I need to complain and if anything crops up or goes wrong the hospital will be on Panorama...........lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

angela - sounds like display settings to me, close all your windows down, then right click on the desktop. The background picture, anywhere. Then when right click a box will open up. Go down to bottom and you`ll fing personalise. A box will pop up and goto display settings.
Alter the resolution, click apply and ok. That should change things. You might have to do it a couple of times until the size is right for you (its personal choice). Those are the instructions for vista , i think xp the same, been so long since i used it.
If you cant get to display settings that way, go to bottom left hand side of screen, click start, then control panel and they`ll be in there. Remember to save after changing .
Mary - what a tale, its putting me off going in, last year i went to docs for some painkillers and they admitted me to hospital and i had a job getting out, i was having a heart attack but that wasnt the point, i only wanted some strong pain killers to go on holiday
rufus - that was kind of DD giving other DD the clothes. And enjoy your dayChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Hi all
Something very weird now with the computer. I've got ghost writing right across the top and sides of the page (all the MSE bits)
I'm suprised Rufus that my last post looked so small, because for me IT LOOKED GIANT next to the other posts.
How lucky your DD with lots of clothes. Those guns could be dodgy. I've also read stories about people getting shot because a toy gun was mistaken for a real one.
My day has gone right out of sync. And now got a bad headache. I think it's the change in weather.
Mary, a good idea to write a journal.
Your comment about the blood type already written down.
Mum used to tell me she was exhausted arriving by ambulance then having to recount the story (as well as lists of medications) loads of times even when changing from one bed to another one a few feet away. And it was all supposed to have been written down during the first telling.
Using invisible ink?
I wonder why such a last gap between blood.0 -
susan - I think you having a heart attack was a bit more important than pain killers at the time ........mind you it does seem that once you're in they don't want to let you out. Thought they needed beds all the time..........seems not:)
angela - I've kept a journal for the last few years.........always thought it would give one of my kids or grandkids a laugh in years to come........lol
I pop in bits about prices of things as well if I need to fil a page:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Could you girls do me a favour - what fonts are you using?
Thanks a lot Susan I'm experimenting now with your advice.0 -
My default font on here seems to be Verdana in size 2.
How is everyone? I feel like I haven't been on here for ages! I've been reading the posts, just never have time to post, or that much to say really!
Today I went shopping though and got some good bargains
In The Works (cheapy book shop) I got a huge (A3 sized) book full of find and seek pictures. The pictures are really detailed cartoons and then there is a tick chart at the side with a list of everything to find. At the back is a big sheet of stickers and a blank landscape for the child to create their own picture. That was only £3 and is a present for my nephew for the end of the month.
I also had a browse of their clearance section. I found a set of 4 baby books and cuddly toy, bagged up with a label saying 'some missing - £1.50'. I think it would have originally come in a presentation case but I'm not bothered about that at all. I got them for my SIL who's expecting soon. I'm doing her a hamper so it doesn't matter about them being loose
I also spotted a tub of 'baby bump' body butter in Wilkinsons. It's the stuff that is meant to help prevent stretchmarks but I use just to keep my bump feeling nice - I don't think much will stop me getting more stretchmarksAnyway, it's gorgeous stuff and was reduced to just £1 for a big tub.
Finally, I popped into T-mobile to get a replacement top-up card for DH. I nearly didn't go in as I don't like mobile phone shops much - always trying to push the hard sell. Anyway, I got the free top-up card and DS had spotted some pink and white beachballs in the window. He went to pick one up and the girl serving me asked if he'd like one. He said yes please, so she got one from the back along with a little bucket of pink candyfloss. I thought they were just for display but they seemed to have lots out the back. I don't know if every customer gets one, or if they're aiming them at children, but worth a try if you pass a T-mobile shop
Oh, the candy floss bucket is plain and see-through other than a sticker that's very easy to peel off. I've already decided I'm going to fill it with layers of colourful sweets and give it to my nephew as one of his Christmas presents - very MSE :rotfl:Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Nickybo - that candyfloss bucket sounds fab, look great with sweets.
Mary - Hope they get down to the bottom of whats going on with OH, I would ask to speak to the ward sister and find out what is going on, but with all the tooing and froming I'd put a compliant in with the hospital.
Mum had a nice surprise we ordered a new settee from Argos, and it said delievery by 30th July... had a phone call Friday can we deliever it Tuesday...Help... we were trying to decorate 1st, then Miss Hoodie threw a mood as she hadn't been told about the settee, (fair enough) but dad didn't know either. basically she took advantage of the argos card, buy now pay 12 months later, yes the system accepted her, I know it sounds stupid, but we didn't want to tell them until we had the paperwork through the post, but the call beat us to it. He's moaning as mum didn't ask him to measure up, (male pride!!), then Miss Hoodie cheered up, when she was told its a 3, 2 and chair, so shes claimed the 2 seater for herself and Bailey... but mums got her eye on that one!!
Miss Hoodie been out today to a charity day ran by the local housing assosication, then she went to a bbq, she left at 10.30am, didn't get dropped off till 9.30.. had a good day, just hoping the henna comes off her arms before school on monday!!!
Shes off to another funday 2mor, but dads doing the duty with that one and were taking her friend her took her today, so I'm on taxi service (makes a change!!). xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
