Thanks for that Susan, I guess I am just a worrier lol. OH is saying now that we might be able to take them to Kings Cross where the second train goes from so would be even less to worry about.0

i`m a worrier too so know what you mean rufus. But now she`s a globe trotter, she knows trains and buses to everywhere...:D
mary - hows OH doing
mum2 one - have heard anything from the lifebook?Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Hello all :j
OH woke this morning in such pain in his stomach-doctor was fetched -different one this time. Seems OH's gallstones are inflamed and he's having antibiotics and one might have 'come loose' (don't really understand that). If it has they can sort it with an injection through the stomach OH says (thats if he understood it right). Anyway, he's being monitored for a while...........poor soul's been monitored since he went in ! So, can't see him coming home this side of next week.:(
I was so fed up I nearly didn't go shopping with cleaner but I made the effort and glad I did despite the rain.
Usual cleaner not back yet -her MIL got dates all wrong- so she did a bit of hoovering and dusting and then the glass fell off the front of the kitchen clock !! I'm thinking thats a good excuse to get new one...............lol
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi everyone
I had to go awol since Sunday as my computer broke for good - lost everything. Now got windows xp and it's really weird, the reply box for everything is really small so is the font, everytime I make it bigger it goes small again. Don't think I'll be using the computer much.
Sorry to hear about all the dramas Mary, poor OH.
Rufus how is your MIL?
I saw the solicitor today, I had been dreading it but everything went fine, I need to get 1 more thing sorted for him but will leave it a while as I was busy on a complicated form the last few weeks and can't think straight.0 -
Angela - Sorry about the solicitors, they don't do things easy.
Mary - Hope OH goes on ok, sounds at last there finally getting somewhere.
The lifebook saga, phonecall yesterday from cafcass, the lifebook arrived, but it turned up at least 2 days later than what was meant to, and to make matters worse it was the officer who I put a complaint in, so very politely told her, that although the letter apolgised, that i'm still waiting for her apology (fell on deaf ears), and that i would need to take legal advice regarding as to whether I have to go ahead with the lifebook, as its outside the court order. There ringing me Fri afternoon.
But... rang my solicitor and because the life book has materalised, then I have to take her to see it, but he's writing to his solictors and the court, about that it was over 3 days late.... but I'll let cafcass stew for a bit longer. His lordship won't be happy as he's trying to get hold of me through facebook, he's not stupid enough to leave a message, but does "friends" request, I told the solicitor that this is the 3rd in just over s week, the 1st one I said don't rock the boat, see what happens, so he's now writing another letter to the court and to his solicitor and saying stop harrassing her, otherwise we go for a court injunction, if the court can't see through that, then they must be blind!
Wheres his brains does he really think i'd say on yes, come on in and share my life.... the profile locked, and careful what pics are on there, but there for friends that don't see often but can catch up.
I had my fist mainatance payment today, a grand total of £13.80, via a giro....(2 weeks money!) so I'm guessing it won't take long for him to realise, as its being stopped at source of his benefit payments.
Miss Hoodie had a good day 2day, she was playing in a local schools concert at the local theatre, sods law couldn't go as had govenerors meeting, wouldn't got there in time... it was funny, the bloke I was sat by thought I was playing footies under the table, my knee is giving jib, that I can't kepp it still for more couple mins without being on the ceiling in pain, - wasn't till we were leaving, i apoligised if I'd caught his foot, he said he'd enjoyed it!! No - no romance, he's married, don't think I do things by half!xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Mum2one - hope this all goes alright, must say I dont really understand it all, when I split up with my OH it was back in the 80s and all that happened was that he was told he had to pay them just 5p a year each maintenance because I had the house, nothing about the fact that they put all his debts on the house too and I had to remortgage to pay them off and he didnt have to pay a penny of them. He had access to see them but it wasnt very often.
Anglea - thanks for asking about ExMil, as far as I know she is getting on ok, I bumped into her daughter yesterday who has been up the hospital with her most days. Think its going to be a long recovery. Hoping I can get up to see her soon, wont go at the weekend when her family goes though, will wait until next week and go in the day time.0 -
Hi all
Crikey, I thought reading about 13.90 on mum2one's post was bad enough LOL and now Rufus's 5p for maintainance a year. Are we all living in a parallel universe???
I've just had a horrible discovery. For the last couple of years when I've got the house insurance , I just filed it without reading, apart from a quick skim.
Just now I was in an organisng mood re June's challenge and thought I'd write the policy number and phone numbers in a prominent space, and had a read of the policy details. I had no idea I had legal cover for family matters, I thought it was just for other types of cases. Never heard of the solicitors they mentioned, they said for family matters you get a reduction, not free.
I've never heard the name of the company so guess I'd have to travel a fair way to their nearest branch. Even though the chap I've got is expensive but he's on the doorstep and I don't drive.
But I'll have to phone the helpline to double check about all this. Plus I also discovered I also had access to 24 hour emergency repairmen and cover up to 1,000 pounds.
So a tip for everyone - ALWAYS OPEN YOUR MAIL AND READ IT0 -
My maintenance was nothing - he went to live in our house in Calais. Which was paid for. Couldnt get him to sell it (he`s still there) and maintenance £0 in 18 and half years he`s bought them one top each and seen them once since they were 3 (thats when i legged it) when they were 13yo. How do they get away with it I want to know. Arrg:mad: it makes me so mad.
Mary - hope they sort OH out soon, must be annoying not knowing whats going on
Angela - solicitors....they wind me up as well so I`ll not talk about them:D
mum2one - tell him to sling his hook and get lost. I`d take weeks between letters i would. Slow it right down....
rufus - it winds me up OH debts n all, as he waddled off to france they came looking for me 5 years after seeing him said I owed £120,000:eek: But it was fraud because he`d taken out £100,000 when I was attending my fathers funeral 200 miles away, both him and the financial advisor got done for forging my signiture but i still had to pay £20000 for another one with another company who wouldnt believe it wasnt me as it was all done via post, i wondered where he got all his money from, he told me he was working away 3 months at a time...he was away but we wont go into where:mad:Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Hello all :j
angela -Thanks for reminding me. I ought to check out ins.policy out.
Well OH woke up to not so much pain -doctors went round and said he could go home today if he wanted ! Bit hasty I thought -one swallow doesn't make a summer does it. Bill thought it was a bit of a snap decision and said he'd hang on and see how the morning went -they'd gone round about 9am -bit early to make a decision like that. Lunchtime came and his stomach felt a bit ''iffy'' so he's staying in rather than risk coming home, something going wrong and having to be rushed in again. I'm relieved about that..........I'd have thought the doctors would want to see what he was like for at least two more days before discharging him..........I mean, one really bad day and a few hours good........doesn't make sense to me.
He'll have to go back in about 6 weeks for op, I expect to remove whole gall bladder. They said they can't do keyhole surgery and want to make sure his stomachs settled from his colon op.
Oh what a carry on............I should be making the most of some ''me'' time but can't focus on anything. Maybe tomorrow ?
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

We've used the legal side of our house insurance before, been an absolute godsend, thou in our cases the solicitors haven't been local, the one I have at them is based down in Swindon, and were Midlands. But def worth checking into.
Like yourself I ound out too late about the legal side of the ins, as when we did find out, it was when I was sueing BK, and found out by accident, but becuase I had a solicitor at the time on legal aid, and the case was going through, they couldn't take it.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
