one of our ladies is planning for 2012 as she got all her things for this year

    You called? ;)
Birthday gifts are done for 2012 except my niece and one nephew and one baby as yet unborn (I did an ASOS order today and most of my friends/female relatives will be getting Cath Kidston stuff). Lots of Christmas 2012 is done too because I am that obsessive :o

Can't believe I forgot the Christmas cards in the sales this year though. And I'll need to get some chocolate coins for my niece and nephews' Christmas boxes, and will cover and label the chutneys/jams I have as small gifts for this year.

I'm just chilling out for a minute, Miss M is watching an episode of Elmo before bed and once she is asleep I am going to wash the dishes, wipe down the kitchen and then settle in with some chocolate, a cup of tea and my gift spreadsheet.

2012!!!!!! My daughters change their minds more often than they change their clothes (and thats a feat!) There is no way I could even think about risking buying presents that far in advance! lol My thoughts are those who are are very brave and savy.

Thank you to everyone for hellos and holiday wishes - there is a heated pool at the cottage we have hired so even if its raining we shall be in it. :)

See you all in 2 weeks!!!!! :):) :0)

    Hi girls

    Christmas tip -

*line baking tins with foil in advance of the 25th to avoid a last moment panic of trying to do that as well as 100 other things at once - or to find you've run out of foil.

*get some foil containers (the size for baking bread) - because of the horrendous weather the last few years some foods had run out in the shops so I bought more of others - but I had difficulty putting it all in the oven as my tins and ovenware were the wrong sizes. It was lucky that I found some foil containers at the back of the cupboard that could be shoved into tight spaces in the oven.

I don't have a microwave so I really must make sure I take my own advice :) because I remember lining the tins on the 25th and worrying I'd run out of foil. I had a spare roll but couldn't remember where it was.

Only adult gifts! My mother for example has loved scarves and slippers since I was a child; she's not going to change her mind now ;)

The only kids' gifts I have for next year are for kids too young to express opinions - and that is mostly because they all get books.

    Hello all :j
Not usually here this time of night but having a touch of de ja vous...............OH's stomach pains got worse this afternoon to the point I rang GP at 6.30 and he came out. He arranged admission for OH on surgical ward as somethings not right then he booked ambulance to take him........2 hours they said.............well he's only just left and its getting on for 10pm and thats after dialling 999 twice ! He was breathless and in such pain. Dont know whats happening with our ambulance service at the minute............still, he's on his way now and I'm seeing him tomorrow. I'll ring surgical ward before I go to bed to make sure he's actually there and not been dumped in A & E............ambulance folk had letter from GP anyway.
So, hard to think about christmas pressies and stuff at the minute but I will...........I must in order to keep my sanity..............lol:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary, I was so sorry to hear about your OH, hugs. Have you got anyone at home with you I wonder.

To keep your sanity I'll tell you about a craft project I saw earlier online - a bouquet made from buttons and pipe cleaners.

We're well thanks, the husbeast is out of hospital and making a passable recovery with occasional relapses because he doesn't see any problem with heavy lifting and a broken shoulder (rollseyes), looking at new places to move to because I want to be out of here and in a bigger place by Christmas and Berlin is looming next weekend.

How are you? Where are you stopping in Germany? Rome is amazing, so beautiful and so much to see. The bus tours are not good though because it's so pedestrian friendly.
