    Hi all

Mum2one, that sounds like a happy ending for all concerned, you never know how these things can work out. Lovely for Miss H to get those presents too. I was thinking about Mary when you mentioned a clover necklace.

    Xmas Saver!
    Santas Challenge

Its hard to believe its over half way through the challenges, only feels like yesterday was doing Nov/Dec challenges.

    June's Challenge

Christmas Preperation - Presents, cards, etc

Christmas Card List - Do I need to buy or craft any cards. How many do I need to post, (if poss see if can keep to standard posting).

    Christmas Present List
Update and see who still needs present, and set budgets for them.

Vistaprint tip - If your ordeing 4 freebies for a person or a family, have it sent direct to them, - esp if you would have to repost on.
For us - order for Irish Granparents, - get 4 freebies, then let them know package coming, on avergae worked out £1.00 dearer than Uk posting, whereas would cost £7 from P.O to them.

    Cleaning
Will try to be very gentle, but we have dad to blame for this one!! (his plans for 2mor!)
Clean the fridge - don't forget that lovely icebox.

The freezer.... hopefully as weve had a couple of freezer cleans, hopefully there won't be a build up of too much ice.

    Christmas Tip
If you had to give one top christmas tip what would it be!!

    Parents -
I know we've got about a month left at school, but it be the "best teacher", "teaching assistant", and if Miss Hoodie had her way, the whole school!! so if we can craft, or be very mse, we've got time to prepare.

    Medicine etc
I apologise that its a medicine reminder, but thinking school hols coming up, everyone be panicing, and rushing to get mediciation in.

Prescriptions - Check to see how long your current order will last, do you need any extras for holidays....

Home Kit - Paracetamol, plasters, diarrohea tablets, rehydration sachets (or can use flat cola).

    Sorry another Parents one
Contact List, - check all contact numbers are up to date,

Emergency Kit - Have a few bits on standy for when the friend pops up to play, its rains and you get the I'm bored... for Miss Hoodie, I usually do something craftwise, (always try to have it ready for when her friend comes.

Hopefully have been gentle!! as you can tell Miss Hoodie is in bed, otherwise be an all night job!!

    xx

xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I should hope Miss Hoodie was in bed when you posted at half one this morning lol!!!!

I am "reading with interest" and lurking on on the board at the moment, keeping abreast of the situation. Christmas prep will not start until middle of July for me as we go away for 2 weeks tomorrow and I am not worrying about Christmas till I have done my (maybe rainy) stint at the beach in Cornwall!!!! Although, I took a lot of things on board inspired by this board last year and already have a fair amount already in place as I shopped for things in the sales directly after Christmas! Main budget for presents is well on the way to full, as I save with Park hampers and have £500 vouchers delivered in Oct/Nov to do the main bulk shopping.

I shall start getting excited about Christmas once I am back from holiday - but I must concentrate on my University assignments as I need to pass this final year!!!!! lol.

    Morning all

Glad it went off ok Mum2one, as you say, wait and see what happens next.

As for the challenge, thanks for reminding me about stamps. I have had the free stamps up to now but wont have them this year so will need to start buying a few now and then so I dont have to pay out in one go at end of the year. Will just buy the 2nd class ones this year. I usually stamp all Dad's cards too so will have to get extra in as he posts more than me. Shame Superdrug dont do them discounted now, and they dont let you use their card either.

Meeting my friend up town this afternoon for a wander round. Dont have anything particular to buy but will keep my eyes open for any bargains to put away. Eldest grandson still needs a birthday present, plus I might get a couple of birthday cards in while up there for OH and granddaughter for August.

I was just thinking last night about its gone past mid summer now and its all sloping down towards Christmas again lol, this year has gone quickly.

Went to my brothers yesterday to meet their new dog, its a little black poodle called Buddy who is only three months old, so cute bless. Will keep my brother on his toes now he is retired. He said its like having a baby in the house again, he had to sleep one night on the settee as the dog wouldnt settle and kept crying all night.

Lovely to see you posting again Diddley. Have a wonderful holiday too.

Glad everything went well Mum2one. :D

Here's a freebie day out for your OH's and the kids. Register (they send no spam, honestly) and click on the purple banner in the corner - you can get four tickets, watching rally cars racing at Silverstone. It's a brilliant day out, I'm told - I got my Dad tickets last year and he loved it. :)

mum2one - glad everything ok with the grandparents, and glad they spoilt miss hoodie. My twins met their biological parent after 10 years and he said he`d get them a present, one twin wanted a laptop, worked out it was fair pressie after missing 10 years worth, she got a footy top, the other twin expected nothing , he got a hoodie, unfortunately none of them fit. He disappeared again now, that was 5 years ago. Its lovely that they tought to give pandora, a lovely keepsake.

Thanks for the challenges, :Di am definatly going to do the freezer and fridge one. I started making cards...lol and my pressie list is shrunk as decided not to buy for 6 nieces and nephews . They never say thank you so I wont bother this year. And as the twins will be 19 yo:eek: hoping not to spend so much. Have already got OH done so i`m prepared....

elysia - cant get the link to go properly, i`ll try again later

rufus - i only said yesterday the same thing about xmas, OH wasnt amused. good luck to brother on his new dog, whats his name?

hi diddly - have a good holiday and when you come back you`ll be raring to go...

    angela - thank you .

mary - be interesting what you put in christmas in a box

    June's Challenge

Christmas Preperation - Presents, cards, etc

    Christmas Card List
Card are bought, just need a few special ones and I have plenty of stuff here to make them, just need to get around to it.

    Christmas Present List
I have loads of spares for unexpected presents - Just need to sort the main pressies out now.

Vistaprint tip - If your ordeing 4 freebies for a person or a family, have it sent direct to them.
I don't sent to any relatives far away. Good idea though.

    Cleaning
Will do the fridge before I go shopping in a couple of hours. Will do the freezer later when it's more empty.

Last night we had potato wedges with our evening meal - trouble was, I found four packets with only a few in each, so we had them all. They were four different flavours as well.:D. Mexican, cracked pepper, plain and spicy. It made things interesting. :rotfl:

    Christmas Tip
Do as much as you can beforehand so you can relax and enjoy the day.

    Parents -
I know we've got about a month left at school, but it be the "best teacher",
I bought DD's teacher a pen off vistaprint and a notebook from funky pigeon. All FREE! :j

    Medicine etc
    Done

    Sorry another Parents one
    Contact List

hi twisted angel welcome to our thread, your welcome, mum2one is our boss....lol, she`ll be along shortly. We`re a bit quiet here this time of year, we have a sister thread run by one of our ladies Elysia to make money for xmas , so we`re on that one too. I started about a month before xmas two years ago and i`m still here. And one of our ladies is planning for 2012 as she got all her things for this year

Just received another load of paperwork from hospital, have to read through it and jot all my questions down....decided to get OH to read through it and get questions, I`m burying my head in the sand.....lol
