Hello again
Susan, LOL I love the nickname idea
You are so busy with all your lovely makes, I loved those pegs.
I don't know how many of you read the tragic story in the papers about a baby that died after being given some marshmallow from the top of some hot chocolate in a restaurant. I know the baby was too young to have been given it, but for whatever reasons, it's made me feel uncomfortable about buying some more. It's strange because I've never felt like that about nuts, and lots of people have accidents with them.0 -
Sorry ladies. Keep forgetting to check in. Well I am now even busier, as I have forsaken my car for the family wealth. Hubby has taken family car to get to work.
I am still waiting for VO to clear. Have been quiet because I have been reading tutorials. I want to further my crochet skills. Sure there will be a chance to profit from some lacey female beanie hats in Autumn.
Christmas is getting ever closer my friends. Hope we are getting sorted, lol.SWAGBUCKS Nov 17sbs redeemed; 2 x £5 Amazon

Hello all :j
Ddraig - Christmas getting closer  Just thrown into state of panic as not done anything apart from knit hat, wrist warmers and scarf for sons girlfriend ! Oh and framed some 4 leaf clovers.......the rest is ''stuff waiting to be done''.i.e. empty jars, tubs etc.
Get the feeling this year it may well be that everyone has a cheapie pressie from some website or other.
Plumber been to check the leak near boiler and why we'd got no hot water...........he fixed the leak but thinks the other problem is the circuit board that takes electric to the boiler -or something like that- so electrician is coming out before the end of the week. If it is that it'll be about £200:eek: Meantime we've got the immersion heater on .........just hope that keeps going else I'd hide in a corner and cry................lol
Floral walking sticks arrived !! Took them on their first outing to the post box just roung the corner from us. It's not far, farthest I've been and they didn't fall apart and I stayed upright..........lol Was a bit worried as they're classed as 'slimline' -not as chunky as the NHS ones.
Lovely day but very windy.........poor rose trees are getting a battering..............yard looks like someones got married with all the rose petals everywhere..............lol
Trying to think of something 'creative' to do today and can't...........brains drawn a blank as always.
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary - I found a pattern for the slippers I was telling you about
http://doyoumindifiknit.typepad.com/do_you_mind_if_i_knit/2008/01/knitted-slipper.html
It says use chunky but my Mum used to use two balls of DK together instead to use up any scraps. Might be good for you later on to do for Christmas presents if you have any more wool left over. I like the pompoms on the front.0 -
Our hanging basket out the front was looking a bit lost, we had put some plants in it but it was quite small and the bracket is up quite high so you couldnt see anything except one leafy thing hanging down so went to B&Q and got some more plants and a new basket, one of those pointy ones. Managed to find half hour in between the showers to plant it up and looks a lot better already.
Have two black sacks full of clothes (tops) from ExMil to go through and see if I want any or can use them for something or sell on EBay. Will give me something to do tomorrow morning.0 -
rufus -thanks for that. May well have a go later on using the two balls I've got put together.....they'll be like chunky knit then.
Had real lazy afternoon...........back ached too much to do a lot and I'm out shopping tomorrow so best not to overdo it today:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I bit the bullet, rang the solicitors, spoke to his secetary, she hasn't typed anything up, but is going to ask him 2mor, apparently hes in and out of court, so i said I'd ring her back 2mor afternoon.
I did well waiting 48 hours.... just hope that he hasn't done it, should know more 2mor.
Like a big kid, got my replacement battery charger for netbook, only £7 from ebay, but it works!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Fingers crossed he hasn't Mum2one - how bad will that look, but saying that he still has the weekend, so don't get your hopes up too high.

Just a quick note - Lakeland has a sale on. There's nothing much I wanted, but there are some great codes around if you did. £5 off a £25 spend, and free delivery over £20.
I bought one peg bag in the sale £1.99 but still managed to spend £17 (£32 before codes) I bought a load of jam making stuff, as everyone liked it last Christmas.
The marmalade stuff in the tin, you just add sugar and boil (cheat) now comes in strawberry and lemon flavours, so I've stocked up.

mrs-moneypenny - Reindeer food definitely on my list! Thanks! Traffic jam... :rotfl:
rufus - I've bookmarked that thread too!! lol LOTS to read on there now. Blimey. And your story of the reindeer poop made me laugh!!
mum2one - thanks for the flavoured coffee idea - I'm just a bit worried about doing anything edible/drinkable..... maybe unnecessarily... Fingers crossed for you with solicitors!!
mary - lovely idea's thank you. COuld possibly do some fabric christmas decorations with left over felt after I've made my daughter's advent calendar....
susan - thanks for that, I'll take a look! Like I said above, still not sure about the food/drink element...
Angela - I didn't see that article. Sounds horrendous. Was it because there were traces of nut or something??
Ddraig - *wave*
elysia - thanks for the info regarding the marmalade! Had to make some for OH two weeks ago - didn't realise it could come in other flavours! Is it as bitter as marmalade or more like jam?? (thinking of the strawberry - I'm guessing the lemon is like lemon marmalade!)
Ok, this is what I'm hoping to make for the charity 'pink party' so far:
Bracelets
Handbag Charms / Key Rings (using odd beads!)
Reindeer Food
Bags of humbugs (they're wrapped so not worries about them! lol)
Might also do some tealight painted jars and somethign with candy canes. I think that might be enough though for now!!
