Afternoon everyone, just got back from my Brothers, was a nice party, afternoon thing, got there about 1. I decided to take the album as well as the cushion after all and was going to tell him to open it on tuesday when its actually his birthday but he seemed fine when I got there so he opened it then and really loved it. Asked me to send him a copy of one of the photos of his dog so he can do a painting of it. He was showing everyone the album, funnily enough there was a picture in it of him and his class mates when they were at school. I got it off someone on Friends Reunited who used to go to school with him and one of the other ones in the photo actually turned up to the party. He is a cousin of my SIL (thats how bro and her met through him) but I hadnt seen him since we were all really young and my bro and him were sitting trying to remember the names of the boys in the photo.
Had email to say the converses have been dispatched.
Gave Dad his fathers day card while we were at my brother's as wont be going there tomorrow. We are going out with OH's Mum and Dad for lunch. Was hoping we could pop and see my Dad on way home but OH has now said we not taking the car but going by train so he can have a drink so that idea is out the window. Still might see him in the week.0 -
Hello all :j
susan -what beautiful cards.............you're so artistic:T
rufus - amazing the affect photo albums have......after OH's dad died during the evening out came the photos of OH and his brothers when they were small and there was a lot of laughter.........really lightened up what could have been a ''down'' kind of atmosphere.
Well, we've put the heating back on it's so cold and wet.........and I've just ordered a pretty summery floral walking stick...................lol
Builders been and had a look at work we want doing, not too much scratching of the head and deep sighs............lol then had a long phone call from a lad we used to foster who now lives in Scotland and is dad to 2 ! Makes me feel older than I am sometimes but its good when they keep in touch.
So, apart from much further trawling of walking stick sites not much done today. Oh well.........maybe tomorrow ?
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary if you need a spare walking stick , I seen some jazzy ones in the £1 shop today of all places, you could cut some bits out and coat with a layer of vanish....nice to see they keep in touch, my friends mate is always bragging she fostered 63 kids....none keep in touch I wonder why? Its been nice here today for a change although the net keeps telling me its raining
Rufus - glad your party went well and brother loved the album, I did one once for a cousin and he hardly said thank you, i did another for a friend and she loved it to bits....enjoy your lunch out. PS love the stuff you make...
And I still havent made a christmas card - I made one for a new house lolChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
hope everyone ok, been organised and listed some stuff on ebay, whether it goes is another thing!!
Started degutting more items from Miss Hoodies room, as we're putting the stuff back in, considering she has the smaller room its like a tardis. Just started sorting my room, - think it be July before get round to getting the furniture up.
Dad got spolit today, he thought his toilet roll was brilliant, and his whisky, they've gone straight up to his bedside cabnet!!
No news re court case, as 2mor is the due day for this life book!! so that be fun and games, don't want to ring the solicitor as feel its tempting fete, just hoping his lordship has lost interest!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
mum2one -fingers crossed for court case.
Youre sounding a lot more organised than I am.......mind you, I haven't got as much clutter as I did have thanks to cleaner being very stern with me and making me throw stuff out.
susan -another lovely card:T Never thought of £1 shop for walking sticks. Oh well, they're ordered now..........oh what a carry on -different prices and sizes, fold up one or normal one -= ended up with normal one (the right size found eventually)-not cheap as I need two and might not have bothered if foster daughter wasn't sharing the cost, Might get a pair of cheapie fold up ones I can take in a bag when I go out on the scooter. That'll mean another lot of trawling round endless sites.............lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi all
I quite like this American site called The Simple Dollar, here is a link to their handmade gifts section.
Apart from the individual instructions via the links (with step by step photo instructions) there is also a photo of all the gifts laid out together on the table on the main page.

Good luck for OH, hope he goes on ok xx
Thanks mum2one and everyone else for the good wishes. He thinks it went alright but was annoyed that they were diddled out of about 5 mins at the end of the exam by the invigilator!! We shall see!
butterfly - thank you for thinking of me!!! Unfortunately it doesn't go up to my size, but thank you all the same!
Wanted to say a big thanks for whoever it was (memory like a sieve at the moment sorry!) who suggested the dad's cookbook for fathers day. Ended up getting this: My Daddy Cooks http://www.amazon.co.uk/My-Daddy-Cooks-Recipes-Family/dp/144471371X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1308564807&sr=8-2 and think it went down well!
That ebay listing - hey, if it means they sell at a higher price.... (no, it's not me! lol)
elysia - glad your mum is home!
rufus - your quilts are fab! Glad the party went well and he loved the album!
susan - love your Cards!
mum2one - got my fingers crossed for you re court case!!
Anglea - thanks for that link - will save that and have a look when I have more time! I have a bracelet to make for my friend's birthday next week, earrings to make for my bro's girlfriend (August) and a cross stitch for our friend's wedding in September - and at the moment I can't see when I'll get to do any of them!! lol
Btw, if any of you get the chance to see Avenue Q (went Saturday - bought tickets for hubby for his birthday earlier in the year - not MSE at all but hey!) GO! It's hysterical! Adult muppets basically! Not for young children though, definitely not!! lol
Hugs to all!
