Anglea - I have been making another quilt to put in my Folksy shop. Just need to sit and sew down the binding this evening and it will be finished. Cut out the pieces for another one this afternoon but it will need machine sewing to sew the bits together and cant do any of that during the day this week, so have got some more fabric down and hope I can cut out the pieces for a couple more tomorrow. It is very tiring though, I cut them out using a mat and rotary cutter so all standing up and leaning over and it does my back in, plus I have dodgy shoulders and arms anyway which doesn't help.

You are getting a lot done Rufus hope you don't overdo it.

I did that years back and now can hardly ever do any crocheting which I love, because at one stage I was doing about 6 hrs daily and it did my hands in.

Anglea - I have always had to have something to do. I cant just sit and do nothing, never have been able to. My Mum was the same, she used to always sit knitting or sewing of an evening and so did her Mum so I suppose it runs in the family.

I'm the same, I can not sit, I've got to be doing something, whether its knitting, crocherting or the computer!! Either that or I'd be in the biscuit tin!!

I never want to see another insurance company again... just spent 5 hours searching for car insurance for dad, his policy rocketed to nearly double... as for price comparison, there ok until you start adding the extras in. Started off with prices of £180+ then when you go through the site one rocketed to £700.

But he's now with M+S, for £260 and we should get £35 cashback, (be a bonus), but the "extras" that have been included is brilliant. I'm dreading when December comes round and have to do mine. xx

    Hi all

Nice to see you on here Clare.

Mary, what is it about buttons that OH dislikes?

I went to do some errands today, relieved I bought a lovely large card for Dad so won't be fighting with others for elbow room in the shop at the last moment on Saturday.

There was a time I used to make all my cards, I haven't made one for over a year now I get too distracted.

All this mention of car insurance, DS get's his important correspondence sent to my house then I send it on to him. The last lot I sent never arrived apparently.

This week his new insurance arrived and he is supposed to check it then write back to them within 10 days with the no claims bonus. Typical, he's away at the moment. I'll have to get his dad to check it at the weekend instead then I'll have to send it off. .

Anglea - I used to make cards too, used to make up packs too with blank cards, embellishments and other bits and pieces to make 5 cards, used to sell them on EB. They were all themed like football, fairies, flowers etc, was doing all right with them but after about a year they started to sell the bits in every shop you went in and the kits stopped selling. I still have some made up lol in a box that I never sold. I sometimes get a pack out if the kids come round and want something to do or I might give one out with a gift. I have a box full of cards I made too as I used to make up 5 cards using the same stuff as in the pack so I could show what you could make with it. They are only a5 size and I always forget I have them. The cards are so cheap to buy these days in the town.

I have been wondering whether to put some more of the card making stuff on EB as I dont think I will use it anymore. I have a few punches and some embossing metal things, might get something for them. Have to have a good sort out one of these days.
