    candie_gill - lovely movie hamper!!

Angela - hmmmm, maybe.....although 'DD' got him chocs for his birthday. Might have a scout around on ebay see if I can find something unusual!

Got a friend's wedding in september so will be cross stitching them something. However, hubby and I are witnesses and he's wearing a matching morning suit, so I really need a dress to match! The suit will be grey with burnt orange cravat and ivory waistcoat with orange wiggly piping (hard to describe! lol). So I need a dress that's either grey, brown (go with the orange but not the grey?!) or orange!!! I'm leaning towards the grey... starting to look on ebay for a bargain....

rufus - that's fab news for your OH!! My OH has had some crappy news today - his work is being taken over (charity taking over another charity project) and they all have to reapply for their jobs. That's the short version - it's much more complicated than that - basically his boss is crap and didn't stand up for his team in any which way. So it's a case of him reapplying, probably working under a different crap manager (another long story) and sticking it out until he's finished his OU degree. Exam a week Thursday thena few more assignments until he's finished (I think) at the end of September. Not good overall. But could be a LOT worse I know....

Hugs to all! (Gentle ones to Mary with your painful back!)

Clare - Your OH's job situation seems to be the way things are going at the minute.........silly I think it is but the ''men in suits'' know best (so they think!)

Found my glass paints in the drawer and now have two little painted glass dishes.........just the right size for a tea light and the jars had ridges round the side so the easiest way was to just do stripes............OH likes them anyway and a boy we used to foster is candle mad......he'll love them for his birthday coming up in July. Plus he's one of those who appreciates something ''hand made'' even if all I did was paint some stripes...........lol:)

Trying to think of bits and pieces to make a ''bedtime hamper'' for my friend.......she has trouble sleeping. I've sent for some sleep capsules from the ''freebie'' board (they're not what you'd call sleeping tablets just something herbal that relaxes you).......I've heard somewhere of a ''sleep book'' but can't remember where I saw it. Any ideas of anything else I can put in it ? She disabled so can't do much, already has enough books to stock a library..........same goes for dvds..........so they're not an option. I did think of a little teddy bear.......she loves them (don't we all) and it would be a bit of fun for her as well. So any other ideas ?
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi girls,

Rufus, that job offer sounds exciting for your OH, sort of reminded me of the latest in Eastenders, Ricky off to Dubai.

Clare, that must be horrid for your OH, what a mean thing to do, apply for your own job again. Good luck getting a dress.

All this talk about Father's Day, I might get a really nice card and then some cakes as dad really liked the ones I got for Mother's Day for mum.

Bedtime hamper - something with dried lavender, puzzle book, dream dictionary, dream journal and pencil, Horlicks, to do list pad (if she's up worrying about future chores), relaxation CD

Had a voucher from Joe Browns today in my email for £10 so bought youngest daughter a pair of pumps with it for her birthday.

How about some lavender, some radox for the bath, an eye mask to block the light out, comfy bed socks, a relaxing candle or insense.. i received a free relaxation cd with an insense kit from poundland recently, they have stocked them for a while :)

Def agree with the grey for a dress, at least that way yu can wear it again, thinking orange you could be stuck with....... or you could the mse way and borrow an easy jet uniform!

Sorry to hear about hubbys job, a friend of mines for a charrity, shes one of the core staff, so for the last few yrs her job has been safe, whilst others aren't, now as the council has had their budget slashed, their budget gets slashed, shes had her hours cut from 40hrs a week to originally 20 per week, thou they've got a new project for the duration of that shes upped to 25hrs a week, - in a way financially lucky as when her and her mum brought the house it was a then council house, so low mortage, shes said at a push she can manage on 25, but as she said if it had been a "normal" house purchase, she'd be up the river without a paddle. i think businesses just don't bother about the person on the ground xx

Awww thanks guys. It might work out (weirdly!) for the best. There's a managers role that's been advertised for his level of experience, so he might go for that!!!

Mary - there's some nice sleep therapy stuff in Avon. Might be worth a look.

mum2one - yeah, I would have NO use for an orange dress!! lol Was thinking brown as that would go well with the orange, but probably wouldn't with the grey. Shame as browns really suit me! Well done on your assignment!

    Hope you're all good!
