Thanks Angela, I'll take a look. He's a pretty good cook, but I'm thinking DD is possibly a bit young! Might be a good idea for next year though (she's only 17 months at the moment - could probably help stir things etc this time next year!). I'm definitely up for getting her involved in cooking asap - I used to help make cakes etc (the usual stuff!) and loved it when I was young.

So might think again for something for this year. Yikes, not long left.

    Hello all :j

Bit of a weird day....sunshine then it goes then comes back again ! One cushion for garden seats delivered..........why on earth not all three at once I don't know.............lol Still, ones better than none.
Been to the dentist.......nothing done but have to go back in August to have one re-capped.It'll last till then.

Angela -he had crutches when he went in for the operation, came out with new ones and he's a bit like me, won't let it beat him. Long as we take it a bit at a time we're both ok. If OH stayed in all day every day he'd go off his head and we all need some sort of normality in our lives don't we.
Hes had appt to see back 'boffin' 29th June so should know more then but he does seem to be walking better at the minute.:)

susan -my back.......well some days it doesn't bear thinking about, others it's sort of bearable. There's always pain there but I'll not let it beat me.......I'm in charge, not the back pain.............lol
I must learn to know my limits though. I do overdo it at times trying to do things I know I can't.
I think I've come to terms with it and this is probably as good as it'll get..............well I can live with that.:)

Ooops..........still have foraged for the glass paints........knew there was something I was going to do.................lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi everyone, I love reading the posts on here every day.

Today I dug out my Rulolph Club, Houseworks Plan, special occasions folders and notebooks and realised that it's time for an overhaul.

Some of the really useful things in the RC I haven't done in ages. I also think I need to make better use of my houshold diary as often don't open it unless I have to arrange for ds's home visit hence missing birthdays because this year I also didn't mark up the wall calendar. I keep the year ahead list of birthdays under my armchair in the special occasions box, don't get it out very often.

I also find that even though I've memorised birthdays over the years, I often get mixed up what date it is, I think June came around much faster than expected.

Rufus - how is your online business getting on?

    clare - choccies for dad?

Mary, that was strange about only one seat.

Susan, your ds can get away without cooking as there are salads, or even cous cous you only need kettle. I've just ate a massive bowl of it feel a bit sick :(

Angela - ooops.....that was my mistake.......there were two cushions in the parcel except they weren't as thick as I thought they'd be. Been on Parcelforce tracking thing and it says whats been delivered and the bench cushion may well be on the next lot..........maybe tomorrow ?

Our poor eucalyptus tree has died......it's a big one and I was dreading the expense of someone cutting it down but chap we know is in the ''wood'' business and he's doing it for £100...........thank goodness. Be well worth it -don't want branches breaking off and blowing into someone elses garden and breaking anything. I've asked him to leave a fair bit of the trunk so I can use it as a sort of bird table.

OH cooked dinner........chicken casserole......was lovely, especially as I didn't have to do it............lol
    Expect its my turn tomorrow:(

Hi Everyone, dont often post here but look in from time to time as you all have some fab ideas.

Went for a nosey in poundstretcher today and they have a huge sale on, allsorts marked down 50-75% off. Picked up some Thomas the tank engine wellies for my sons, £2.99 reduced from £8. Some slippers for myself, lovely pink ones with hearts on and fluffy on the inside- reduced to £1. Candy canes, reduced to 30p a box and dated march 2012 so well in date for xmas. Airwick spiced gingerbread and warming vanilla candle £1.

Got fathers day and my little boys 2nd birthday coming up this month. Pretty organised, been to pick my little ones cake up today from asda. A bargain at £15, its called sweetie express and its a train with two carts on full of sweets.. he loves trains so will be impressed!

Fathers day i have a few things in the present cupboard for my dad left over from xmas, for my other half from our son i am making a movie hamper. Papering a box in red and white stripey paper to give the effect of a popcorn box. So far for inside i have a pack of pop your own popcorn, some jelly bean factory jelly beans, tube of haribo star mix, a kp choc dip pot and two dvds for them to enjoy together which was £3 each in Asda, bee movie and sharks tale. Just need a tub of pick of mix from candy king at tesco (my other half loves these for cinema) and some after eights (his fav) then i should have a nice sized movie hamper for them to enjoy together. Going to hand make a label, will add pics when its finished :)

    candie-girl -that hamper sounds fab.

mary - don't forget the paints, glad OH getting out and about.

Susan - Me thinks a student cookbook should be needed (thou shouldn't laugh,i even managed to burn rice!! blame it on having kids cooking with me!!)

I must be a gluten for punishment, i'm doing all day 2mor with Miss hoodies class, - gone down like a lead ballon, as she thinks I'm going to spend all day just making her read!!

Chance be fine thing, at school this morning, managed to hear 16 kids read, so good going. Assisgnment wise, just got over half on the computer, but it was the hardest half, as had to do 4 tables, so plan is to finish it 2mor ngt.
    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Candiegirl - well done with your bargains and your hamper sounds really nice.

Mary - nice for someone to cook the dinner isnt it, my OH often cooks dinner when he is not working.

Mum2one - i dont know how you can do a day at school and still be up early hours on here lol. You must have tons of energy, wish I did.

My OH had some news yesterday, he works in security for a big worldwide financial firm and his office put his name forward to work on a trip for the directors of the company in October. He heard yesterday that he has got the job, and will be travelling with them to Hong Kong, China and Singapore. So pleased for him, he is very nervous of it all as he has to do a lot of training before he goes and still has to sort out pass port etc but as long as they dont change the plans before then he will be having an all expenses paid trip. I told him he has to bring me back something nice.

He is off today and tomorrow but dont think we will be doing much as he dont get paid until Friday so skint at the moment. Might pop up town for a walk if the weather stays fine.

Is it wrong to be excited for christmas this early, 200 days til christmas!

Working on fathers day at the moment, as haven't a penny to rub together because of moving house, their pressies need to be cheap.
Loved candie-gill's moviehamper as it will only cost me the price of a dvd as we normally get pizza and goodies at the weekend anyway, but hubby will feel he's getting a canny pressie. Not sure what to get fil but my dad i am going to do his family tree scrapbook style on a canvas. Need photos though without hm knowing, i have all the craft supplies so very cheap there too.
Going to start sewing for christmas this year, need to start now x

    Hello all :j
Another grey and chilly day..........cardigan time I think..............lol

OH doing something with sausages tonight........told him off for taking over ''my kitchen'' (secretly relieved that he has.........at least for today)

Must now delve into drawer for glass paints.........I'm sure they're in there somewhere and if I don't get my backside into gear and do 'something' christmas this year will be ''cheque with card'':)

    Hope you're all ok:)
