    Hello all :j

susan - our council (along with most I expect )are known for being slow. I'm sure they hope folk will get fed up waiting and do it themselves.
Occupational therapist was brilliant - she got me raised loo seat, extra stair rail (godsend !), head rest for the bed, bed rail, wheelchair(but need someone to push it and now Bills out of action:() and walking sticks. All that was given to me fairly quickly and helped a lot. Walking frames I brought out of hospital along with commode.

GP phoned this morning with OH's bone scan results:eek: Not good.........he's now on the same medication as me to stop his bones getting any worse. How weird is that for both of us to have the same thing wrong ! Have to wait till 25th May to see consultant and see what MRI scan showed.
His mates taken him to the pub and I've sat here wondering how we'll cope.........mind you I can walk about the house now (need sticks outside and can't walk into town even with them) and yesterday OH was ''on a mission'' and planted some potatos (long overdo) into his ''spud bags''. He was worn out afterwards but felt he'd achieved something -I know that feeling well.:)
I'm sure we'll manage though.......ways and means etc.:)

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi everyone

rufus - thanks. You can work as soon as you have your number..mine did. lol, out the door for them....

Mary - it is strange both of you laid up same time, it always happens like that though, it does get easier, the hard part is accepting your limitations, some days you feel great so you do too much, next day laid up. Then you feel pants some days . Once you work out whats best for you and everyones different it`ll be better, took me years to work that one out....lol

    Xmas Saver!
Will catch up properly later, but have some good news, DD had her interview today with the court officer, we've been on tenderhooks literally expecting a telephone call from the school sayings she upset come and collect her, but completely the opposiate, she came bursting in, can I meet that lady again she got me out of lesson, (ok), I've drawn a picture of the house, drew round buttons and named them as family, from what I can gather Bailey featured very highly in all the pictures, she asked me about my dad, and I told her i don't want to see him, and she told me I don't have to if I don't want to.
I was ready to ask 1001 questions, but knew that would be the worst thing on history, so have just let her tell us at her own pace. i know the court report is only part of the process, but if it is right what DD said its a big relief, thou as the saying goes don't count your chickens till their hatched. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Just posting this on here too, incase anyone misses it.

Theres also an offer on the Grabbit for a three month museum pass, (takes us into the beginning of the summer hols) for free. OK I know museums are boring for the kids but it depends what's near you - we have Blists Hill (not near but not too far) It's a Victorian Living Museum and it makes history come alive, and the kids love it. It's expensive too, and if you can get in for free what more could you ask for. LOL There are 200 places over the Uk, so there's sure to be some near you. :)

Here it is. Sign up with a separate email for each person. ;)

Rufus - as soon as they have their NI No they can work.

DD1 never bothered with Saturday jobs etc - she's living off her student loan - you can't tell them sometimes can you? In one ear and out the other. I had a job lined up before I was 15 (on the till in Woolies) I loved that job best of all. £5.56 per week.

Lol at £5.56 a week sound silly now doesnt it. When I left school I had a job in a John Lewis store in Brixton near where we lived. Worked Tuesday to Saturday ( had Mondays off as you had to work the Saturday), used to get £20 a week and had to give Mum £5 of it for living expenses. Had to pay bus fares out of it too.

Mum2one - fingers crossed for you, lol at Miss Hoodie, she`s a star. My twins father turned up on doorstep one night ten years after leaving him....that was a shock I can tell you. Visited once and havent seen him since, that was 5 years ago so perhaps if it dont work in your favour, perhaps he will lose interest. At least you will always look like a saint as you never stopped it happening.

elysia - thanks for the link, never mind kids, me and OH will enjoy...

I always worked too from being 6 years old...child slave labour, I had the cheek to talk the sunday paper man into letting me run the papers for him. I did that until i was 11 then had the round myself...I used to earn £18 a week which was awesome. Got an apprenticeship for £40 a week . And my mum told me had to give paper round to my younger sister. She did 3 hours work for £18 , I did 45 hours for £40... I must have been nuts lol...but I`m thought I was rich. Bought a car, gave mum £15 and then bought an house at 19...those were the days....lol

    Hello all :j
All this talk about wages makes me feel old......:( Can't remember what I got from my first 'saturday' job in a shop but when I left school and worked in an office I got £3.10s a week .........lol It was enough for bus fares to work, lunches, give mum 10s towards keep and buy clothes, go to cinema etc. ..............lol Oh those were the days............:rotfl:

Been on my weekly trip to supermarket-cleaner is off now for 6 weeks so her MIL is filling her place. I know her from years back, bundle of fun, very creative and has promised to inspire me to do something and get me going.

Managed to pot on the rest of the tiny begonias yesterday and today a load of herbs arrived I'd ordered ages ago...........all in tiny pots and instructions say to pot on within 24 hours  Eeek ! Haven't even worked out where they're going yet !
    Still, something to think about.

    Hope you're all ok:)
