Mum2one - when we were kids we used to knock on doors down our road for the lemonade glass bottles. Used to take them back to the paper shop (it was over the main road and we were not supposed to go over there on our own so felt very daring going lol) and the man used to give us something like 6d a bottle (less than 3p nowadays for those young ones on here) with that 6p we could buy 4 fruit salads for 1d, 4 black jacks also 1p, 8 smaller sweets called mojos which didnt really taste of anything but looked a lot, they were 1d too and then choice of any other sweet too, usually ended up being a gob stopper as they lasted longer.

Gosh rufus - do i remember them. I used to have 8 jelly teddies for 1/2p ....

Mum2 one - I didnt know you could do that with vouchers, i put all my sainsbury ones in the bin :o

Well I just came back from the craft fair...it went really well had some fab comments about my makes and nothing was over a £1....I try really hard to source things for free or cheap. I didnt sell out but I made £70 which was amazing, didnt think there was many people there. I sold out of somethings which amazed me, and alot can be adapted for christmas.

They invited me back at christmas but they didnt know the date so hopefully it wont be when I`m away.

Mary - I like those flat canvas shoes, I found some on hte market, as they wasnt very popular they were selling them off for a £1. My favourites though are the ones like crocs but more "feminine" for want of a better word. They more fitting than big clumpy crocs. They`re £3 and come in all colours, I use them for slippers as well as they`re so comfortable.

susan - thought I'd found a pair yesterday and couldn't remember today which web site it was on.............lol
Trawled amazon and found a couple of pairs I liked so might order them.........more than £1 though.............lol
I'd bought some floral mule style shoes last year but can't wear them now with walking sticks and such like -I'm better off with flat shoes. Got one pair but they're blue and white striped..........don't go with a floral skirt somehow........lol
Well done at the craft fair:T

hiya everyone. apologies for no capitals, computer shift button playing up. oops.

well done susan on your craft fair, we need pics.

i hope you're all having a good weekend. just come back from garden centre. the dog has ruined the lawn out the back, so we're having a raised bed in the middle, and putting gravel down where the grass used to be. i'd rather just slab it but OH says no. hopefully will look ok when it's done. well, it's got to be better what the dead grass, and bare patches that we've got now.

Susan - well done on the fair, you did really well xx

Elysia - Rufus used to do that to our grass so we gave up and got gravel instead too. Then he started digging up the gravel lol so we ended up putting a fence around the gravel bit and calling it our gravel garden. Now we only have Harvey we still dont let him in there, the rest of the garden is paved.

    Hello all :j
Nearly finished baby blanket :T Next will be little jacket and maybe some bootees...............got to use this cream wool up somehow..........lol

elysia - we had the same problem with the lawn we once had..............lol Little jack russell demolished it in no time so we concreted it all..........hence the millions of pots to get rid of so I don't trip over them and having larger raised beds instead so they fill a bit of space but leave me room to get round safely.

esmer - glad you had a good time. York is a lovely place

    Hope you're all ok:)

    Hi everyone

esmer - glad you had a great time at york with DD, I love york, go every year

thxs for good wishes with fair everyone. I amazed myself.
Just come in from outing to hobbycraft and other stores. Nice to have some money and not worry about it. I didnt go mad just bought some paper and ribbons. :)

Elysia - i dont have a lawn our back garden paved. I`m not sure whether I`d like to have grass or not, but when i was a single parent and had grass I had to pay someone else to cut it as I suffered terrible hayfever. :( If my hayfever starts getting me down I goto the seaside for the day now. OH did take a couple (2) pics and I will upload them but they`re pretty naff.

Mary - talking of blue and white striped, no perhaps they wont go with floral. But OH just went in M& S outlet, and fancied a jacket blue and white striped. I cant believe it it was hideous:eek:, good job he was too tight to buy it....:D
