Why don't you start a new thread and ask? Go to the Old Style board - have you searched the recipe base there yet?0

From what I've found you just eat them as you would a normal crab, it's just they're smaller!0

softuk wrote:Well I've searched Google and Alta Vista, and there are lost of references to Velvet crabs, but no specific recipes apart from to say that they are "highly prized" on the continent! The only other reference I have found is on a menu where they were served as a starter with salad. I guess then you treat them the same way as an ordinary crab, just on a smaller scale!
There aren't many but I found a few........

That's great, many thanks. I like the look of the crab souffle.
BTW - if anyone hasn't already tried them, the plum tart, cherry and custard and rhubarb tarts (frozen) from Aldi are well worth trying. (Apols if someone has already mentioned this, I'm still trying to find my way round here!):-)
Other goodies that my little lot like are the jars of herring (Lidl) - a favourite with a beer whilst watching rugby! The frozen south american steaks - also Lidl -are excellent, and they also have (fresh) lean diced steak £1.49 500 grams at the moment.0 -
lidls got the 24 packs of walkers crisps for £1.790

...and papayas for 45p each.0

I don't shop at Lidl at home, there are none local, but they were great in france.
The wine I bought was great quality and really cheap. Went back on our way home, but it had sold out!!
Perhaps French have a similar site to this!!!!
I like quality, now I am working full time I can buy somethings that are luxury!! But only at the price of ordinary goods!!
With the use of ecodes and recommendations from
ecodes etc allow me to buy a little luxury !!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
I can't see that anyone's mentioned the langoustines? Anyone tried them? Are they better value than the lobsters?0
