Who said Lidl is 'down market'???

Options
Just picked up next week's offers leaflet and they will have a great range of seasonal foods in - hopefully!

Lobsters at £4.99 (already in our store). TWO types of crabs (£3.99 and £4.99). 16 langoustines for £8.99. Loads of different types of salmon.

Not just the odd goose and duck - whole goose, goose breasts, goose legs, whole ducks and duck breasts. VENISON! The whole goose is at £12.99, more expensive than Aldi had earlier this year. We'll have to see what Aldi's xmas price is going to be.

Big reductions on some usual stocked items - crayfish tails down from £1.89 to £1.29 and shrimps in brine down from 99p to 59p.

Oh yes, and there's a £1 or so off Bordeaux Blanc and Chablis!

Lidl's is great at Christmas, all kinds of lovely German food that you can't get anywhere else.

Especially the lebkuchen (which I am eating as I type...). I have a 'Continental Market' coming to my town soon though, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some bits and bobs from that as well as Lidl to go in my 'gourmet hampers' for Xmas. I love Lidl

Have they got any stollen? I am waiting for the cheap stollen to come through in Home Bargains, though I may have to make a special trip to Aldi if I can't wait. If you haven't tried stollen yet, give it a go. It is a really scrummy German almond cake-type thing. Tesco seem to view it as a luxury continental item and charge about £4 for one. In HB it was about 80p last year.

Are you from Sheffield? We have one fairly frequently & the foods can be really nice - although somethings can be overpriced.
