Im posting this incase you are eligible and you might get some last minute stuff for xmas:

EDIT - see below looks like you cant get things delivered for xmas

Free One-Day delivery on millions of eligible items sold by Amazon.co.uk

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200182130

Is there a Free Trial available?

If you haven't been an Amazon Prime member in the last 13 months, you can sign up for a free trial. Visit the Amazon Prime Free Trial membership page to start a free trial now, or look for free trial offers when you check out and on product pages. You'll need a current, valid credit card. While you won't be charged at sign-up, having your credit card on file will allow us to upgrade your membership automatically to a paid membership plan.

We sometimes offer other promotional memberships. Trial or other promotional memberships can be cancelled at any time by visiting the "Prime Settings" section of Your Account and choosing not to upgrade to regular annual membership at the end of the trial period by selecting the "Do not upgrade" button. The Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions apply to these memberships except as otherwise stated in the trial or other promotional offers

My Dad got himself a xmas job at Amazon, he says they have been laying off a lot of workers because people aren't ordering as they don't believe they will get orders due to the weather...
  • i actually had two trials going in the space fo about 7 months.
I think it was because i made quite a few orders paying for next day delivery,

damn not good :( but do you mean letting temps go early?
times like these, having high street presence makes a big difference.
  • I found when I done the free trial the products available for prime delivery were always more expensive and I was cheaper off buying without the prime delivery.

Noticed this on amazon.co.uk site yesterday
    "Christmas delivery
Due to adverse weather, we cannot take any further orders for Christmas delivery. For an instant gift, give a gift certificate."

Don't think even PRIME MEMBERS are now recieving next day delivery.

Not surprised. Amazon are being dreadful at keeping customers up to date. My kindle is on guaranteed for christmas delivery now Amazon are only offering to cancel the order as they are removing the guarantee. What is the point of a guarantee if they can remove it when they want.

Prime hasn't been offering pre-christmas delivery since Sunday:( (I signed up for the free trial last month). & I'm still waiting on something sent on 14th & 2 orders from Sunday.
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

Yep its the temp workers mostly that they bring in for xmas... but even so they generally keep them all on till xmas eve, this year they've let a lot of them go already.
