We've beem prime mebers for a few years, we have ALWAYS recieved our items by at least 8am the following day (we have a fantastic postie) and we have 3 orders outstanding from the last 3 weeks.

Cant blame amazon, as once its left their hands it out of their control.

Im just glad their not presents as we did all our shopping in October.

I ordered a kindle for my DS and have always had prime. Dispatched on Thursday by RM - rang CS to say where is it and was told that I would have to wait until the 24th and then they would refund or replace :eek::eek:

How are they going to get a kindle to me on Christmas Eve?? First manager told me they would issue a replacement and then put me through to someone who started with "Let me explain the situation - its just not possible.......:mad::mad: Noooo let me explain this to you nothing is impossible! So they cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas for the most expensive item but my book order went through citylink a completely trackable service - !!!!!!???

One manager told me that many of the kindles have gone by RM and they cant understand it either. They told me that the computer allocates all the delivery companies and "its completely random", strange how randomly most of the kindles have gone by RM then......

Very very unimpressed with Amazon this year, and prime only guarantees expedited dispatch not necessarily quicker delivery.

I found their description of expedited quite confusing and must be stupid as I thought it would be delivered by a quicker, at the very least trackable service.

So now I'm stuck, waiting for an Ipod touch I can't trace. But it gets more complicated, normally we wouldn't spend anything like this on the kids for Christmas, especially as we are buying for for both older children. But I have 1 sitting here we payed full price from HMV, got with it a £20 HMV voucher free with it which is my brothers Christmas present and a free £25 itunes voucher with it, got a second £25 itunes voucher on the clubcard deal they were doing so done really well so far. The second Ipod we are waiting for for mostly paid for with Amazon vouchers mostly from transferring nectar points and from some others we had.

How can I give one child theirs on Christmas day and not the other. Dh gets paid early before Christmas, but even then we can't afford to go and buy one, firstly we can't afford to spend any of next months wages early anyway and even if Amazon refund, it wouldn't give me the money to buy one anywhere else as it is Amazon vouchers. I am trying not to worry as my post hasn't been yet today, so that is still 3 posts, but I don't feel at the moment it is looking good.

I emailed them on the 16th after post had been and then they replied 19th and told me to wait until the 21st and told me that i can reorder but it will not be here for xmas or i can have a full refund.

I bought from Amazon because it was free delivery and cheaper than anywhere else. So i emailed them back to say re-issue and i'll give an IOU to my BIL :o

I emailed yesterday so I guess it will be about 3 days before I get a reply. My 16 year old will end up with an IOU too...hope he understands. ! I may end up dashing to the shops on Xmas Eve and paying a lot more

There seems to be no logic in which service they use. £149 Kindles frequently go out using ordinary Royal Mail, but we've had single DVDs costing less than £5 come via City Link.

I think it depends on when you order, i find if i order late in the day a DVD for example will be via City Link if i order in the afternoon it will be Royal Mail Special Delivery

I guess the City Link trailer leaves later than the Royal Mail one.

I have prime and it is good value at £10 (i split it with friends:)) , but i ordered a router last week and it was just sent 1st class and it hasnt arrived.

Contacted Amazon yesterday and they replied after 5 hours which i though was pretty fast, they gave me a choice, wait or have a refund and return item when it arrives, i took the refund option.

You do well! Most of the smaller stuff I order (books, DVDs etc) just come by ordinary First Class mail.

I am finding today that stuff I have ordered later is arriving quicker! Citylink have delivered today stuff which was ordered 2 days ago......RM has delivered stuff ordered after the Kindle.

UPS via an Amazon seller has delivered today - so no excuse for bad weather to be honest as they were ordered same day.

Very poor show by Amazon this year.....I pity those working in customer service.

I'd agree with that, too - the sooner they ditch Royal Mail altogether the better!

I don't agree, I would order a lot less if they stopped using Royal Mail.

I hate it when they send it by courier, especially now they have started using Yodel who are a bunch of cowboys. HDNL were better when it was just them, now they have bought DHL and transformed into Yodel things have just got worse.

Thats cos the warehouses are backed up and all the newer orders are being placed on top of older orders, so newer orders get sorted quicker, the older orders just keep sitting at the bottom of the pile.

I can understand everyones frustrations but people should just be grateful that at this time of year and in these freezing conditions, you have a roof over your head, your warm, have food in your belly and you have loving family around you. There are 1000's of men, women & children in the UK and around the world who don't have these things which we so easily take for granted.
