:rotfl: just cleared the fridge/cupboards ready for the food shop that will come between 6-8 and now have empty pots etc scattered everywhere.... ds decided to help too
just heating a tomato pasta bake for ds' tea from the freezer. we'll have something from the food shop.
have forgotten washing powder  will have to go first thing in the morning as ds has a hearing test in the morning and then a party at the local church in the afternoon so will be a busy day
need to finish wrapping presents too
have taken the turkey out of the freezer - its says 36 hours to defrost and i plan to cook it xmas eve. getting rather nervous about it  we cooked a tiny turkey last year (no idea why when we didnt have dinner at home :rotfl:) and lived to tell the tale but this one is even bigger
hope everyone is well and not too cold! bloomin freezing here today "I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
morning all!
we have lots of SNOW:eek::snow_grin
six to 8 inches overnight in our garden. I rang into work to say I wasn't going to drive in - its 10 miles but I'm not a confident driver in winter weather and luckily there are people there who live within walking distance of work so I'm not leaving them in the lurch. DH had a lie in and went in to work at 6.30 - hoping to get out later and make some deliveries.
The dogs are loving the snow - Louie had dug his ball out of the snow and they've been racing around the garden having fun together.
I've de-snowed the bird feeders and put them some water out.
DS2 is worrying about how his GF will get to us later on but DH will pull out all the stops to get her here.
DS1 is stranded in Worcester atm but is stopping at a friends.
Might make some cheese and potato pie later as I didn't get round to it last week - its nice comfort food.
Molly - hope you manage to get home! x
Bitsy - hope you got lots of snow!:D
Halight - how much snow have you got?
have a great day all, keep warm and safe x
just wanted to share some good news with you - my cousin gave birth to her first baby 3 hours ago:T:j dont know any details but think she is going to be called Victioia after our late nan.
I have heard taht parts of the aera have had a very good covering while other parts have had nothing. We did not get anything in the night and the snow that was due in the day was a bit of a light dusting and did not even stick to the roads.
Sorry that your son is still stuck i know that you were looking forward to him comming home. I hope he can get over to you soon.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Now vodka and rum.....hmmmm well that's a different kettle of fish.
Ok, since you are married, I shall politely ask if I could fetch you a vodka and rum ( most people use a non-alcoholic mixer, even at Christmas) and steer you over towards the mistletoe.

Trust me it's depressing hearing it. Doesn't make me stop eating mind just makes me want to gag him and tell him he's a long time dead.
Will have a lovely day though, bless him my FIL is lovely but he's really a shy Irish man who finds social situations very awkward. Am drooling about my pigs in blankets alreadyI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Guys,
I am home :j:j:j:T:T:T:j:j:j
Although I wont be jumping around as Im still on bed rest for the majority of the time. Its just so lovely with the christmas lights twinkling. Molly dog is lying on the bed with me (on her blanket) and Im so happy. Im as weak as a kitten though but will gradually up my activity.
I will direct operations such as toilet cleaning (has not been done for a week :eek::eek:) and floor cleaning etc. Tomorrow the Kids dad and DD going food shopping. We are getting organised. Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Evening all
Molly - glad you're home
Polly - glad today went well
Jackie - silly husband! glad you sorted it.
I had a good day at work. Work kids did a great presentation. Sadly the audience was small due to weather but the local MP came and she really impressed me. She asked questions about what we do, and then spoke a bit about the programme in her speech. She gave out the kids' certificates at the end and she had learnt their names. She stayed around afterwards to talk to people too, really impressed me. I thought she would be in and out with no hanging round!flutterbyuk25 wrote: »I'm not looking forward to attempting to move my minibus though . I'm going to leave it til end of day so hopefully roads will have thawed a bit. Or I'll shamelessly play the girl card and ask one of my male colleagues to drive it:rotfl:.
Turns out I didn't have to play the girl card as such in the end! I was the onlyone with a car in work so I followed the boys in the 2 minibuses and brought them back from the hire place. Quite glad as we ended up having to go at 10am and roads were still a bit slippy!
After work I popped to Asda to get some beer. I got 3 crates in their 3 for £18 offer. I'm not a massive beer drinker - this lot will last me 6months! - but I like to have the odd beer so it's nice to keep one or two bottles in the fridge. I rarely drink at home so opening a bottle of wine is a waste!
I didn't get a real tree thoughwell I did get a minature one, 6inches tall :rotfl: it was reduced to £1.50. I'll put my artificial one up today or tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be my last day in work til Jan 5th. Well technically I'm meant to be working Xmas Eve but the boss has told us to 'work from home'
. I won't be doing much tomorrow anyway. We need to finish off this group of kids paperwork, tidy up etc. There are only 2 of us in so we are going for a late lunch (1pm
) and then not going back
. Yey Christmas!! :rotfl:
Have a good evening all

Mr BE I live in the opposite direction from your family, but if you are bringing toffee and cake you're welcome.
Bitsy My SIL lives in Walsall (not that she wants to know us) so I know where it is. Apart from visiting MBE (it would serve him right), it occurred to me tonight that if you're in that sort of area then a school holiday day out could be on the cards when the weather is better. Have Elf, can travel.
JackieG I locked the keys in our car one summer miles away from home. MrCranky just laughed and went sailing. I was left to sort it out :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have achieved very little today due to my garden tap pipe bursting and me having to turn the water off last night. It's sorted for now, but I reckon it will go again due to the amount of pipe still outside on the wall.
My sister has been entertaining me with stories from an Irish snowbound village. She has been walking to her job in the village shop.
Take care all of you0 -
Evening everyone
Ds2 is still getting more excited & louder as each day goes by and why when it us school holidays does he decide to wake just after 5am. Still cold here but snow is melting, don't want any more till new year now.
Os today made a dog cushion out of fabric remnant & old cushion filling, as I wasn't prepared to pay £20 for 1, he is now tucked up cosy in his bed, along with the draft excluder that I made that he claimed. Made a batch of spicy lentil & carrot soup, some to freeze and lunches for next few days.
Took pup & ds2 out again, ds2 took his sledge and we were out over 2 hours again. It definately is working on my exercise uptake.
Db gf dad went home from hosp yesterday, unfortunately there is not much they can do treatment wise, I just hope that he doesn't suffer too much pain. He is such a lovely man.
Molly - glad you are home for Christmas.
Polly - good news that you got home too.
Ladies make sure you get plenty of rest.
Jackieg - glad you got your car sorted, I didn't realise that you were only allowed a certain number of callouts with the AA.
Beemuzed - sending ((hugs)) hope your ds is ok.
taplady - hope your dh finds a new job soon
bramble - sending ((hugs))
npm - hope you manage to get some rest
bitsy - would you like another child for your party, have fun & hope you feel better soon
Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hugs to anyone that needs/ wants one. Take care.0 -

I'm only wanted for my toffee and cake.Sorry, the cake's expendable but the toffee's for my mum. Not negotiable.

 Why? What have I done to deserve that?:rotfl:
