    Good Afternoon

Back from hospital, the hernia op went well and it looks like I have got away with one scar for 2 hernias. Now taking it easy, still in my jamas. It's a bit sore when I get up and sit down, and not too comfy in bed but not as bad as I thought it might be.

Hugs to those having trouble with boilers and cars.

Hope poorly people are feeling better soon.

I'm not sure. I live in Walsall. I know HappyIdiotTalk is in Halesowen, so that's not too far.

Safe to say I'll be at your house before I get to see jackieglasgow. :rotfl:

Good afternoon everyone - hugs and thoughts to everyone in need.
Finally got home from Cumbria at 10pm last night- a 7 hour journey in total. There's more snow here than there, but the temp (about -1) felt positively tropical!
At least the recycled teenagers have got their water and heat back, thanks to a local franchise plumber who spent 6 hours digging things up and checking pipes in some seriously minus temperatures. The whole escapade has cost them £500 (argh!) and demonstrated the need for a new water main at the some point in the near future. Having discussed the situation with DH last night, we're going to push an Asda giftcard their direction in a couple of weeks.
Lunch was a mystery stew from the freezer with added cheese, which wasn't too bad. I've done no dedicated Christmas food shopping, but may pootle off to Mr t a little later , as there's only going to be myself andf DH to cater for. We're doing Christmas in February when we'll be able to get over both sets of RTs during my half term.
Keep safe everyone- this white stuff is a real PITA.

Ok Bitsy, what's the address and what time do you want me? :j:beer:
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

:rotfl: if i'm thinking of the cinema in quinton, not the edgbaston side of the hagley road, then you'd be disappointed to come back. Not sure the tiny cinema is even still open and it's a very quiet nice area, mostly inhabited by school kiddies.

i'm so restless today! after three hours of revision i decided to aimlessly shovel snow outside the house for an hour.

This was a big cinema with 2 or 3 screens that virtually perched above the M5 it wasnt a modern building. İ stayed with a friend who managed the main TSB bank in central Bham and had a riotous time! i am going back here to about 1985 but i was still on 60 quid a night expenses with my company!-could buy a lot of falling down stuff in the bars of Hagley road in those days with that--i loved the shopping in the centre of bham--it was in the days of the old bull ring!

That's what I meant by small cinema, think most in b'ham have ~10 now, I know exactly which one you mean.
All the clubs have moved to broad street mostly i think?

Its all sorted now. He followed the suggestion from Bitsy to remove the wee back window seal with a stanley knife, levered it out from the clips with a screwdriver and its now back on, siliconed into place with window silicone, and the strip back on.

Glad it worked :D Only knew about this because some nefarious character decided to remove the window from my brothers Golf GTi when he was younger :rotfl:

there's nightlife in Quinton?! :rotfl: The Kings pub where an old friend had her wedding reception has now been completely flattened. I think most people head into the centre of Brum. Broad Street is where the majority of the bars are......not that I'd know much about that

Sadly I am not cooking, we're round at my mums so if you can stand my FIL moaning about what a hassle Christmas is come on over ;)

And no Bargainbird there's nothing going on ;) :rotfl:

polly - glad your op went well.

Been busy with kids all day, just had my lunch (yes at 3pm ) Have decided in my madness to have a wee Christmas party for all the kids tomorrow as I have 4 in total tomorrow. Am not buying anything for this, just going to cobble together some party food from the stuff I already have in freezer etc.
Right off to make some cupcakes.
Try and check in later :D
