topsy the AA would charge me £90 as apparently we've had too many callouts this year!
I just showed him Bitsy's links and he said "I may practice those just in case I ever need them in future", I said "if you think the circumstance ever arises again where you might need to do that, you will need to learn how to phone an ambulance with two broken arms, not open a car with a coathanger!" :rotfl: I think I may get a lot of mileage out of this one. He still teases me about leaving my purse in a phonebox when I was 21!It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

Sorry to hear MR Bramble is being an ignorant so and so--i hope you firmly lay the blame at his door if xmas isnt so good! İMO xmas is over-hyped!
İ am back in Mrs De's good books after a day of 'non-peace yesterday' -i was thinking about the jona Louis track ' call the calvary' but we are now 'giving peace a chance' !--we dont have tantrums or squabbles regularly its just i am a typical male who cant keep his thoughts to himself!-its usually about money and she gets her own way!
The day is sunny and warm -i am stuck in work with a patchy schedule--hope your all warm and things are beginning to clear in time for your xmas holidays Gxxmfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

Jackieg.... I can totally commiserate with you.
Bramble.... Forget the presents if money is that tight, just concentrate on keeping warm and well fed, people will understand if you explain things to them.

BB We made a box out of polystyrene and an old pillow to cover the condensor pipe last winter. Works fine and doesn't interfere with its purpose. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

İs that safe?? i know the pipe has to be placed well away from open windows so that fumes dont get 'dragged' back in the room--shouldnt the exhaust be clear to let thing blow away!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Mrbadexample - hope you manage to get to your parents, which OSer is the nearest to you so you can go to dinner there?:D
I'm not sure. I live in Walsall. I know HappyIdiotTalk is in Halesowen, so that's not too far.
Safe to say I'll be at your house before I get to see jackieglasgow. :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I'm going to get the presents, I get paid weekly and will get money for christmas which is going on our january stock up shop!
Not defrosted the stew yet. Got some pork chops for £1.30 from waitrose yesterday so he can have them tonight. Will save the stew maybe for boxing day.
He's calmed down now, I've told him i'm going to tescos tonight when i get back from work (Wahoo for 24 hour supermarkets) and will get cheap cuts of meat and a ham to boil for lunch meats. Going to spend the day looking for the best meals to make to see us through to the new year.
Had 4 letters from debt collectors today....been burying our heads in the sand for far too long, so have emailed them and am going to start 2011 afresh and start getting things repayed.
