Good Morning All
A little milder here and been raining so nearly all the snow is gone :j sorry for the snow lovers but its been so disruptive this year and has cost us a fortune.
Today have quite a few hours on my 2nd job, but next few days will be a lot quieter. OH is off and is tidying the house, he is also cooking shepherds pie for dinner tonight
Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) NMLC & anyone else who needs one.x0 -
Morning all
Bit of an icy start here, which made driving to work interesting  Glad I braved it yesterday or I wouldn't have been brave enough today. I need car for after work as want to get some crates of beer and hopefully a real tree so can't carry them home when walking :rotfl:.
I'm not looking forward to attempting to move my minibus though . I'm going to leave it til end of day so hopefully roads will have thawed a bit. Or I'll shamelessly play the girl card and ask one of my male colleagues to drive it:rotfl:.
Today is work kids last day with us. They have a presentation to do this afternoons for friends and family about what they have done in the 12 weeks with us. I'm in work early to prep some bits for it.
OS wise - need to wash up dishes, dinner will be a freezer meal, and I'm going to put the tree up tonightI did all my wrapping yesterday so all sorted now.
Have a good day all, stay warm

How sad. My hat goes off to you and everyone who work with such tragic news. I am not sure I could cope with it
The song I'd picked for this morning seems really inappropriate now but will post it anyway

It's snowing at the moment but really small weedy flakes. not has the amounts you've had Tappers unfortunatelySnow is melting looking at the icicles we have hanging down from the roof!
Off to the Doctors this morning, brought up blood coloured mucus off my chest  and I wasn't coughing hard so it's not a broken vessel in my throat. Bit paranoid about pneumonia so off to get it checked out.
Other than that I will be trying to entertain the kids.

Morning everyone...
WE are still slushed out and the snow keeps topping up!
Mad day yesterday...Im sure I got a weeks worth of housework done in one day. Still a ton to do and the last of our Xmas shopping. Im determined that we will get everything done by tonight..as we have Xmas tomorrow in this house before we all go our seperate ways for Christmas. That way, from tomorrow I can just relax and enjoy. Yep...now that sounds like a plan.GC January 2015 - £0/£1200 -
Morning all,
My sister got home from Spain :j, she was very lucky as the flight before and after hers were both cancelled, we have no snow here at all now its all melted, but she said coming back from the airport there were still places thick with it. I do hope that all loved ones manage to get home for Xmas, Marie I hope your family get home ok xx
Tru :T thanks, thats my favourite carol
Ok so today I need to have a good clean through, hoover clean and polish, I have two washes to do, and then I think that will be it untill after the big day. DD still has presents to make, she is making all her own, and she needs to wrap her gifts, also she can give her room a good clean and tidy.
Dinner tonight will be 2 x steak and kidney pies, which were found in the freezer, might do a potato pie to go with them, dd had plenty of veggie choice in the freezer.
DD and I went food shopping yesterday which was not too bad, although the carpark at sainsbugs was packed, have realised that I dont think I have enough dog food, so will have to nip out to the local shop later on.
I have the most terrible itchy head its driving me mad scratching, we have checked for nits but there is nothing there, does anyone have an os cure to stop the itching ?? if not I will nip to the chemist and see what they suggest.
Hugs to all those on need, have good days all xx
NMLC big hugs to you too xx0 -
If you don't hear back from me I am in the jail. Husband locked the only set of keys for the BMW inside the car with the engine running and a full tank of fuel in it! I have been unable to locate a locksmith who can get here before 2pm. Said car is purring away on my driveway. I had the genius idea of smashing the small side window and retrieving the keys/unlocking the doors, and worked out that through my insurance this will cost £50  or I can buy a window for £200. Locksmith will be around £60, but all the petrol will have gone by then. OH refuses to let me smash window, and has gone to his lockup unit for window suckers in the vain hope he can pull the window down enough to get at the lock. He won't be able to do it, and we will lose the fuel and the money for locksmith and/or new window. Lots and lots of diaphragmatic breathing going on in my house right now. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

:hello:
More snow! Nooooooooo!
I'm fed up with it. I didn't like it to start with, and I'm not liking it any more now.
If it stops me making the 200 mile trip to Kent to see my folks then I get no Christmas dinner. That will mean I'm coming to one of YOUR houses! :rotfl: Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!
Seriously though, I'm not looking forward to the trip much. Fingers crossed for anyone else making festive trips across the country. Mine could be a lot worse, out of 204 miles, 190 of it's on motorways, so I should at least see a bit of grit. Pretty flat too, so unlikely to get stuck on a hill (touch wood). I was going to go on Christmas Eve, but can't risk missing dinner so I'll probably go tomorrow now.
Finished work until 5th, so it's time to make some ginger biscuits for my mum's Christmas present (the treacle toffee's already done) and a cake to use up a few eggs.
Hope everyone's preparations are coming on well, and not too badly hampered by the nasty white stuff. Stay safe and warm.

How much will it cost to replace the rubber trim round the window? Can you cut out a side fixed window with a stanley knife and get in that way?
When I locked my keys in my old mark 2 golf the AA man who came out used a plastic wedge to lever open the door, mind you that didn't have central locking and he could loop a something round the nobbly bit of the lock on the top of the door. I am betting the BMW doesn't have anything like that.........
Off to google some suggestions.
