eBay Stove giving no heat hardly

Good im glad you got a good stove.
With regards to the HETAS "Lie" unless mystic meg is sitting next to us when we post we wouldnt know where you are in the world. As this forum has lots of people from England and wales I can only assume people assumed you were in this area but now you have said what you have said I can only assume your in Ireland.
HETAS was created to ensure installations are safe. So In my opionion even if I didnt have to follow it by law I would still look at it and follow some of thr rules if It ment I was going to install safely. Ive seen soo many unsafe installations its un real.
You can buy and install a "cheaper" stove and get on with it very well and get good service.
End of day its like buying an old skoda and a mercedes. Both will do the same job albeit both are different quality and the merc will do some things better than the skoda.
This is my last post on this matter cos it could go on forever.0 -

The only two sensible things you posted to the thread IMHO
Glad to see that you do actually agree even if you did originally pull me for berating others for saying different0 -
Yawn ...

Keep up the good work mate. See you over at the other forum.0 -
Two observations.
The first is that it seems to me that HETAS (just like other government-sanctioned trade closed shops) seems to exist more for the financial benefit of its members than for the consumer. Under the guise of 'safety', regulations are tightened year by year. Solely for the customers' benefit? Forgive a sceptical MSE user for wondering.
The second is that the same people perpetually tell us we should spend more on stoves, more on installation more on... well, where does it end?
The fact is that for all the scorn CRP and others like to pour on cheaper stove brands they happen to dislike (Hunter appearing to be CRP's particular bete noire) there are plenty of quite contented Hunter users. I'm one. Others post here out of the blue now and then, apparently equally unaware that being a brand snob is mandatory on this forum.
Running a house, or a business, is a series of choices. For some people a cheaper stove is all they can afford. For others it's just a question of priorities. They might have a Miele washing machine but a Beko fridge. That's a choice they make.
Curiously, Which? magazine actually recommends Beko fridges, just as it does Miele washing machines. So much for brand snobbery.
Whatever vested interests in the trade want to pretend, you don't have to spend a king's ransom to have a stove. And no amount of brand snobbery will convince me otherwise. Particularly when it comes from people who sell stoves for a living.
Yes, a Morso might have been better than my Hunter. Maybe a Miele would have been better than my Bosch. I chose to buy an nice house in an expensive part of the country instead. It's all about priorities.
So can we just cut the brand snobbery please? Most of all, can we cut it from the people who make a living out of pumping it?0 -

What bewilders me is the fact there are dual standards from certain folks making a living flogging and installing boxes. Hard sell and we KNOW best on this site, but fine for folks who buy from Far East on other sites................
But hey, I have already been accused of being an on-line stalker via pvt messages, I better no say any more :money:

Of course there are folks who view MSE who are well heeled, I would reckon many of the latter being ok because they are shrewd. Folks who are perhaps not too well heeled, they can also be very shrewd people too. No matter where one is on the £££'s scale (which appears to be how you measure an individual) they do not need lectures on what box to purchase, ideas. suggestions, resonable debate is suffice. My sister in law has a Tiger stove as she's broke and she likes it but she would love a Charnwood or similar and understands how good they are. She isn't under the impression her Chinese stove is just as good.

engage brain, then type.
Ps, lets not forget, all MSE'rs who reply to these type threads are normal folks, you and your ilk, look at the potential financial gain that can be made, hence the reason HETAS regs are constantly being preached, no matter where you reside in UK. Any box fitters that reply here are mostly (not all) out for themselves, or their ilk. About time this commercial aspect was looked at by the webmaster!!

Your stove could be over drawing, meaning it is getting too much air which is taking the heat up the chimney.
Once the stove has enough air to support combustion all the extra air is actually making the stove cooler.
Try turning your air supply down until you just start to see smoke inside the glass, operate at that level for a while and see if the performance improves.
You could also try changing your fuel, fuels sold as being very high quality are sometimes not.
