Tele88 rates probably need to be updated on the Callchecker.
It gives 1.5p/min for landlines to Iraq, tried it and a recording advised another number... checking the Tele88 website, the price is actually 4p/min.0 -

Were you calling Baghdad ?
Call Checker does warn you. Always double check prices before using providers.
0844 303 0188 is for Baghdad only.

4p a minute to other Iraq destinations.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hi,can anyone help us with regards to telephone overriders....we recently returned to bt after using talk talk...we have used overriders to call my wifes family(mobiles) in thailand since our return in 2006.we were with bt in 2006 and had no problem, same with talk talk, everything cheap cheap....great.But we've been back with bt less than a month and have been stung with a bill for £439 for a handful of calls...on the bill it lists us as having called thai mobiles direct and not the overriders as previously.we havent done anything different,we believe the numbers to be still good so whats happening? why dont the 0844 numbers show on the bill even?
i tried talking to the billing department in india.....with no luck(there customer service is a joke, left on hold for ages and randomley cut off)Tried to disconnect as service was no good to us...(told it would cost a further £200) and was even advised to take out the international freedom package,at £5.20/month with 600 minutes free calls/month...great! when thailand isnt even supported on that package! i initially ordered the package but mistrusting them checked it out for myself and found the advisor had misled me.i would have incurred even MORE huge bills.
CAN ANYONE help us PLEASE! why arent the overriders working? or what can we do so my wife can talk to her family cheaply? (they live in a remote area with no landline or internet access)
any advise or help would be gratefully recieved, with how to call thai mobiles cheaply AND can we do anything about the bill?
Thanks,jon0 -

Personally, as you have a BT line, I'd join 18185 and use that Override Provider's prefix - your calls would then be 4p connection (instead of 13.1p) and 1½p/minute.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Heinz, thanks for you reply, well 2 of our listed numbers arent on there, although they are the same 2 companys as listed....telesavers and telediscount.the 3rd is dialwise and thats the same number as quoted on the list.
But on our bill it doesnt even list us as having called any of these numbers...0 -
You need to dispute those calls - I'd suggest in writing. Each of the numbers called will be shown on your itemized bill so you can be specific about which calls should be charged at 0844 rates.
Even before you start that process though, I'd recommend joining (and using) 18185.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Were all the access numbers you were using 0844 ones or were you by any chance using old 0845 ones ?0 -

She got a foo call code for 50% free extra credit but when she used the code on the foo call iphone app it doubled her credit! The same code worked for me to! Its clearly an error by them, so get in there quick before they fix it
the code is: FCFIFTY
Hi Ned, just to let you know this offer is still working believe it or not, a friend in france has just topped up and got twice as much credit as she should have!0 -
