ESA & DLA Cancelled

Check that you're not entitled to a bit of help in the form of council tax benefit, https://www.entitledto.com. Also does your husband claim DLA? Your husband will get free prescriptions but you should get an HC1 form and fill it in (from jobcentres, pharmacies, opticians - HC1s are everywhere except online). If you qualify you'll get free dentist, prescriptions, eye tests and a voucher towards the cost of glasses.0

I've worked since I was 16 and I'm 24 now. I've also studied full time in between then and at one point had 2 jobs and was studying. I worked from the age of 12 as did ny husband
I score 27 points on the ESA descriptors, I probably score more but that's the definite can't be argued with ones. Just because I choose to go down the route of supported work does not mean that I am not disabled. you think that would pass as I and my husband btu its not that easy
I claim DLA MC LM, WTC disability element, access to work pay for taxis and hearing aid batteries. I don't need to wait to become ill I already am. I have a syndrome that will kill me before I'm 35, if I'm really lucky I'll make it to 40. Don't dare assume that because someone is young then they can't understand disability issues.
ETA the only reason people can't claim income based benefits is because they already have a household income more than or equal to the minimum that the gov says they need to live on or they have savings. It's not like there are people out there who really only live on £65 a week for house, bills food and everything.
Our house hold income is under £200 including DLA but we have a bit save up to help us through, we do live on this and this alone without any kind of help except for a band reduction.
Prople do realiy on these payments no matter their heath problems0 -
15 points for losing conciousness without warning at least once per week.
DLA award letter states "for experiencing a loss of concious without warning at least 3 times per week".
Even if I did have to go to an appeal I'd get the award in the end.
The other 12 are for continence (6) and hearing (6). I could probably get 9 for hearing because at the moment they can't find an aid that works without interfering with my pacemaker so technically I'm unaided hearing wise which knocks me up another 3 points on their descriptor.
The remaining are for "mental health" descriptors which annoys me really because I don't class learning difficulties or autism as mental health problems. I've not actually read the MH descriptors lately, not that interested in them just now tbh.
Just now I see my DLA as the state pension I'll never claim and the child benefit/place in a school that my children will never take up.0 -

You may find that some of the mental health descriptors apply to your physical health too. I've found this.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
i have given up taking notice of all this speculation and scaremongering, it was last year i heard "absolutely everyone on dla or incap will have to have a medical with atos or recieve no more benefits/ne exceptions or excuses"
what a load of rubbish that was, i have just had my dla award for another 5 years and my incapacity benefit continued, and i didn't go near an atos doctor either, if they really want to save some money they should sack half the idiots they employ to make these decisions and cease paying atos the millions of pounds they get from our taxes, this entire country is packed to the rafters with good for nothing wannabe chiefs milking whatever they can from when it really needs more indians, i dont know much about the internal workings of the political system in this country but politicians seem to change their minds more frequently than i change my pants, if somebody wants to start a campaign that will do some good why not get "parliamentry privilidge" removed, they would think twice before acting if we could hold them accountable for there actions0 -

He got DLA for 12 months but that is now finished. He already gets free prescriptions because on top of everything else he is insulin dependant diabetic. Have reapplied for DLA but if he cant get ESA dont hold out much hope.0 -
An HC2 form would give you both help with health costs0

there are plenty of people that read the discriptors and think they they will score points but they dont, ATOS dont listen to a thing you say and they ignore the evidence that you provide from your consultants so that you get 0 points, my husband should easily get over 50 points but he got none at his first medical and everyone is the same, he was lucky and didnt spend up to a year on £65 a week like many wronged claimants are forced to.0 -
Wow, he must have listened to the budget, its not exactly new stuff.I was told today from a friend who works for the Benefits Agency that the major changes over the next 12 months.
Both ESA and DLA are being cancelled in some cases stating that they are acting on information received.
Anyone who has made a new claim over the last 24 months are being targeted first I beleive.
Your medical form that you will get, will then be sent to a independent OT/Doctor who will never meet you, to do the assessment.
Also DLA is being changed to PIP (Personal Improvement Payment ) which is assessed on a medical examination.
Anyone wanting to appeal will have to wait around 3 months for a decision.
Just when you thought thinks could not get any worse.0 -
You need to pay 30 years of NI contributions to claim a state pension. As I only have a 40 year life expectancy at most and didn't start working when I was 10 I won't live long enough to qualify for one.
I can claim DLA as long as I need constant supervision because of my medical condition. I just tell people that I claim DLA instead of state pension as it seems to comfort all the oldies who try to patronise me with the "wait til you grow up and get a real disability".
And sunnyone they don't knock back everyone, they knocked back your husband and their decision may have been wrong but let's acknowledge that a lot of claims do go through with no issues.0
