ESA & DLA Cancelled

I was told today from a friend who works for the Benefits Agency that the major changes over the next 12 months.
Both ESA and DLA are being cancelled in some cases stating that they are acting on information received.
Anyone who has made a new claim over the last 24 months are being targeted first I beleive.
Your medical form that you will get, will then be sent to a independent OT/Doctor who will never meet you, to do the assessment.
Also DLA is being changed to PIP (Personal Improvement Payment ) which is assessed on a medical examination.
Anyone wanting to appeal will have to wait around 3 months for a decision.
Just when you thought thinks could not get any worse.

I agree!!!
Times when the JC+ told JSA claimants to claim IB in order to get the figures down and to increase the claimants income are well done and buried!
I think there should come a time when either JSA/ESA is repayable out of future earnings the same as university grants are. Both are given to help you back into work.
There are far far too many scroungers (those that say they are ill but aren't) and (those that pretend to look for work but don't) should be found out and banned from claiming future benefits for claiming illegally.
Benefit is there to help those that for one reason or another can't help themselves. And that does not include those that chose not to try.0 -

What about those people who are to ill to work but the ESA health care professional who done the medical assessment has lied. My husband has had major surgery for cancer and has been told that the cancer has metastisised to his lungs. He got 0 points.. how does that happen? He has been on the assessment rate for nearly a year now and his appeal wont be heard until at least April. What do the government think he is supposed to live off, keep warm with in this very cold weather? Everything isnt black and white you know!!0 -
and you will have your voice in appeal. If your case is genuine then you will win.
think of it this way, if there were less people claiming falsly then then your appeal would be a lot quicker and you could prove your case faster0 -
Having an appeal in April doesnt help with financial situation right now though does it. If the Atos idiots got it right in the first place (and how they get it so wrong so many times is beyond me) us people in genuine need wouldnt be left to starve and freeze. And the" if your case is genuine" remark, why would I want to lie about something like like this.. I find that remark quite disgusting.0

That doesn't make punishing genuine claimants right though does it?bungle4by4 wrote: »and you will have your voice in appeal. If your case is genuine then you will win.

It's like everything else. The minority have spoilt it for the majority. Now everybody is to be treated as a fraudalent benfit claimant until they prove that they aren't either in the ATOS assessment or at the appeal hearing.
That's just the way it is. DLA is going the same way - too many have claimed and been given it who don't really deserve it.0 -
maybe your wrong, have you considered that option?0
