if you are already Orange PAYG customer. Just call their CS to buy a OSF for £79. thats including a tenner top-up. Like someone already said then slip in a giffgaff sim. hassle free and you will be able to cancel the contract anytime you want.0

Hi,
What info do Orange need when you ring if you have an orange sim card? Do you have to be registered with them online etc or just basically have the phone number?
Thanks

I think the sim needs to be registered, if it has not already been. simples. btw register means giving them your name, address and DOB....does not take longer than 5 mins.
Ask for the sales person that any mobiles greater than £80 are eligible for a one off £30 for existing PAYG customers.
if they do not offer. Just end the call and call back again, depends on who you speak to. But in couple of tries I had managed to get one.0 -
my sim wasnt registered had been active a while but maybe only ever been toped up £100

I received an OSF as a present. Pay as you go.
Due to my total inexperience with android ,I apparently used the £20 top up on data before I made a single call.
I checked my online account and more than £13 had been used in the space of three minutes.
I called at my local Orange shop and the staff couldn't explain . Went to another Orange shop and was put on a phone to Orange's contact centre - the assistant simply read out the list of charges which I had incurred with no explanation as to how 3 minutes could cost £13. He told me that I would have been charged for any wi-fi connections.
I have sent emails to Orange ; all I get is an automated response.
Given the lack of help from Orange I don't want to continue as their customer.
I read in this thread about giffgaff.
Can I simply get a SIM from giffgaff and use their network following unlocking?
Can I keep my number and contacts ?
Is giffgaff coverage ok?
I would be obliged for any help.Forgotten but not gone.0 -

Can't answer all your questions as I have not tried myself, however I am seriously considering it.
I have heard GiffGaff runs on the 02 network which itself boasts (or at least used to) that it has the best UK coverage of all the mobile networks.0
