I had been looking at this phone - Orange did say instore that I could have £20 discount for working in a College, or if I used a student NUS card. I think they do the £20 off for key workers - council/education etc... they also offered £2 off the £20 Dolphin monthly SIM, I'll decide after Christmas as need to price up costs involved in iphone 4 first but think Interestd in this or HTC on PAYG.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

i bought this phone over the phone it cost £78.99 providing i had an existing payg sim, i'm sure they said on the phone that the new sim would also have £10 credit, it only has a 1p, when i rang to query it they said it would take 5 days , recieved phone on the 29th dec, so i rang again, the girl i spoke to thought i was talking about the £30 when you port your number over,
wht i'd like to know is there supposed to be £10 credit before i ring them again
many thanks0 -

oh yes - it has to have £10 as you can't buy it without an included top-up.
i had terrible trouble getting my £10, not due to willful neglect on their part but the usual dreadful scenario of the orange right leg not knowing what the orange left leg was doing, coupled with the dreadful lack of know-how on the part of several orange staff.
call the 0800 telesales line and choose existing order option. explain and wait to get passed from pillar to post. when you speak to the correct person they should ask you to register the sim in your name(set up the account), take the mobile no. and sim card no. - if this hasn't already been done. That was the way I got mine in the end. If you're happy to do that, make sure they do it properly. it can take 5 working days....took me 4 weeks....0 -
I'm not sure what happened when I bought my phone, although at check-out I was made to buy a £10 top-up it was never charged for or applied to the account. :-)0

Hi Slorimer,
You are able to use your SIM Only SIM card in other Orange phones, therefore there would be no reason why you could not take advantage of this offer and use your existing SIM in it. Alternatively you may be able to upgrade your current account if you wish to discuss this please contact Customer Services on 150 from your phone.
Hope this helps

Hi,
Can you shed any light on customers being forced to top-up £20 when buying the San Francisco in Orange stores?
I called the online sales team before buying my SF and they told me they have nothing to do with the stores and can't help.
The guy in my local Orange shop in Norwich was equally unhelpful, when i mentioned that it's only a £10 top up online, he told me that "It's Christmas, what do you expect".
So I was forced to pay for the £20 top-up if i wanted to get my phone in time for Christmas. Quite annoying as i could have ordered online through Quidco and made a saving.0
