Any ideas for this massive pile of sprouts?? There are only the two of us.
this recipe sounds nice for sprouts, it does say to use raw sprouts to roast but you could try it with cooked ones, but reduce the cooking time maybe?* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Not quite Xmas Dinner leftovers but any suggestions for things to use up pickled red cabbage that is soft (an M&S one, only opened today ) and cream crackers? Got a huge pack of crackers as they were only 59p, but I won't eat them all within a couple of weeks, before they go soft.

Frugalista, sprout soup (basically sprouts, potatoes, onion blended add bacon bits, crutons and more sprouts) or add the sprouts to fried diced onions and bacon- delicious side dish or topping for mash.
I've just made 4 portions of chunky turkey soup. Used the neck to make stock (and stripped the meat off- so tender!), then added onions, carrots, potato, blended down then added diced carrot and parsnip and some of the really fatty turkey bits noone in the house likes to eat. Really tasty!!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
stuffing ''burgers'' would work well for meat based stuffings, otherwise, veg stuffings are a great extra with bubble and squeak w/gravy.
I have worked back to front this year, being in the kitchen pre-preparing stuff for dh's time at home so I wasn't in the kitchen all the time, I've cooked and forzen quite a few lighter fresher meals for this week and have few leftovers. we had leftover lunch which dealt with most of it. we have some cold, beautiful rare roast beef left, which won't last brilliantly, but will get finished tomorrow, probably with ''swedish'' potatos.
personally I would buy a whole bird not a crown when buying ''bird'' for christmas, the bones make a stock perfect for left over veg to have a long side cold cuts or with a fresh home baked bread after a long winter walk.0 -
Ok, I've had a great day!
Stock made
2 x huge leftover pies made using up all the veggies & pigs in blankets and a fair amount of meat
4 x 250g bags of brown & white meat bagged and in the freezer to use up as and when
Huge tub of turkey & stuffing balls in fridge for sarnies this week
And now I'm left with 10 roast potatoes. Any ideas?Jan '12 GC; £74.66/£100£2 saver club member #1070 -
Both me and my mum were craving leftovers, but since we didn't have any (we ate at my grandmas) we couldn't resist the £50 turkey for £11 :j
It's in the oven now, so turkey and stuffing for teaThanks to everyone who posts competitions0 -
janiepops - I would quite happily eat your roast potatoes for you - I can't ever imagine having roast potatoes left over - but that's only because I'd eat all the leftover ones - any time any place any where! I just can't have them near me:rotfl::rotfl:
pp what about big flat mushrooms with stuffing?
some good tips on here - thanks everyone.Treat the Earth well,It was not given to you by your parents,It was loaned to you by your children.Masai proverb0 -
I'm veggie , and OH almost is, and we went out for an Indian Banquet yest for Xmas dinner:D:DIt was fab but they gave us tons, so we came home with a massive doggy bag which will do us for 2 meals:p:p:p
We've also got lots of bits in that will make up meals for the rest of this week:p:p"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
