Sorry to sound bigheaded, but got mine, charged it and all is well. Get a few high pitch sounds coming through it, was using a nokia headset before and will probably carry on using the nokia and keep this as a spare, all in all good for a tenner.
My advice to everyone that has non working ones is ask for replacements or take it up with consumer direct and/or trading standards, i certainly would if i had been one of the unfortunate people to have received a dud one. Good luck with getting a result0 -
Misterel wrote:Received mine today - only tested one so far but same problem as described above (seems to be charging, will pair while "Live" but dead as soon as disconnected from mains - ie useless for purpose).
My suspicion is that as they are old stock they have been hanging around somewhere long enough uncharged that their batteries have given up - "Please take to a Siemens Service centre to change the battery" says the manual.
They were sold as new and functional, not as iffy seconds (regardless of the whole "three for two" bobbins), so I'm dropping Benq Siemens' reseller (dataselect) a polite line... I'd bought two of them as Xmas presents - they'll look a bit iffy with the packaging open where I've had to check if they work.
I had the same thought about the batteries being dud from the sets been left for a while in a storeroom. It does state on the packaging that the battery is guaranteed for 6 months, so is it fair to expect us to accept if they suggest that the sets are taken to a service centre? After all the sets were DOA so they aren't fit for their intended purpose, plus it's not certain that the battery is the only fault.
Will just have to wait and see if they reply to the website contact.. I can't call them from work and I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks on Wednesday.0 -

I'm not saying we should take them back to a service centre - just raising that the manual asks that you do that (after the battery has died a natural death) rather than void the warranty by trying to change the battery yourself - we should all be entitled to a working replacement (not a repair) in any case (IIRC I used that very phrase "not fit for purpose" in my reply to dataselect).Wins so far this year: It's been a quiet year so far

I've just had a reply asking me to call their Returns Department on 0870 1261070 (mods - if you wish me to remove this number please let me know) - sadly "say No to 0870" have no alternatives listed for this number or for Dataselect.
Their returns people seem very efficient and polite.
I explained the problem, handed over the details of my order and I'm being emailed a returns label - they've offered either a full refund on the dud units or to despatch new replacements once they receive them - I'm very happy with the working one and Xmas is a way off yet so I'll gamble on them getting in some working stock...Wins so far this year: It's been a quiet year so far

Receive my headset on Friday. I purchased it from https://www.siemens-mobile.co.uk. I have the same problem as described. I gave them a call on 0870 126 1085. They were quite happy to send me a replacement without any fuss. However, They did want me to pay for the return postage. I flatly refused to this as I'm returning faulty goods. I got them to refund the postage.0

Just called them also - they seemed surprised! Tho offered to refund the postage costs without me asking. Very pleasant - they have emailed me a return notice for me to print off and send back recorded delivery with the unit. they'll then send another out.????
Hope the replacement works. What's the chances?0 -
Just been on the phone to them.. She said they did NOT refund postage, and kept going on about their T & C.. she said nobody else has had their postage refunded, and it would be fraud if they did return postage(???). Despite sales saying they DID deal with the returns postage.
She was happy to refund or replace, but would NOT pay for the postage.
Going by this I will ask for a full refund rather than a replacement.0
