Long Haul or Do Up House??

  • Well a good day yesterday, bought DS a coat on ebay and he put it on yesterday to go swimming, unzipped the pocket and found 'the Queen's head' it was a £10 note. Now normally i'd be completely honest and send it back, but given our circumstances... :o

Then i'd listed six cans of paint that had never been used, Farrow & Ball - ohhh it's all becoming clear now!! - and they've all sold, just over £60 :j

Now unfortunately i've been pricing heating oil today and it's dire, so over £300 for 500 litres and nearly £600 for 1000 ltrs, so i can't get any, but we really need it. Not enough dosh on the credit cards so i'm going to have to ebay something i don't want to, possibly the dslr camera, as although we use it, it is replaceable in the future and we have a compact one that is great. Will have a think but i'm terrified the oil runs out and the system gets clogged or something and as we've had snow again today the heating kicks in automatically

Right cup of tea and a think!!

  • Oh no - guess it really is about prioritising and being warm is top of the list!! Still, when we are all debt free we won't have to worry about such things!

  • You're right C, just have to keep working on that Debt Free Day!
Did a survey last night about Cadbury's Mini Egg deserts, guess what i've been thinking about ALL day. In the end went to Tesco and bought the 4 for £2 - i'll never get slim and solvant at this rate!!

MBNA bleeped up on moving the statement / payment date. They have promised to get it right next month and have said if i can't make the payment date they will waive the charge as it is their fault. Hoping i can manage as the pmt date is the same day as DH is paid, just lets hope their internet banking is working on the day!

  • Gosh i'm getting sad, three cc statements appeared today and i was quite excited to open them :D
All going down, not a lot, but down as no spends on them :j
Barclaycards for DH and i and the messed up mbna for me. The barclaycards are closed as they were going to increase the interest rates. The mbna is open but probably not for long as DH had the letter for his mbna and had to close his one, so i'm sure my nasty letter won't be far behind.

Will update sig - down a tiny bit at last :T

Various people coming to collect ebay paint tomorrow and camera has bids on it, not enough to get the oil but fingers crossed!

Your not sad, I cant wait for my statements now once upon a time it could take me days to get the courage to open them.
Lets hope the weather stays mild so you dont need to buy too much oil.

Been very brave today and cut not only DH's hair but both the boys too :D
We bought a remmington shaver thing ages ago at Costco and i've been doing DHs for a while, think it paid for itself halfway through his second haircut! But had never done older son's, he was great and sat really still. Younger son not so great but he's only 2, so he looks a bit odd now as he had a pudding bowl cut before! Now looks like a complete stranger :rotfl:
Still the next time i might use scissors on the top and not the shaver!!
Anyway at least £20 saved in theory :money:

Other than that s-l-o-w-l-y listing things on ebay and clearing up chewed bits of blanket from the pup, bless him!!
Disney's Pochahontus (not good spelling there) is on 5 later this afternoon so hopefully we can watch that with the children before they go to bed.
Off all next week as it's half term here :j so will get the chance to read some diaries i've been wanting to, Red your time has come

  • It's been a very short half term here C, it will be a long haul till Easter!
Well Pocahontus resulted in eldest DS crying at the end and DH getting all upset as they used the wrong flag at the beginning???? It was just a cartoon not Simon Sharma, aarrgghhh.

Little DS still looks like someone elses this morning, hope i pick up the right child from nursery later!
