  • Thanks Penny, it is a huge relief but so scarey and final too. I just hope we can get this DMP thing agreed with CAB and then i only have to think about one payment a month not over a dozen and then i should be a happier mummy!
Love all your holiday plans, i'll be living through you all for a while to come!

  • Morning,
    Well another day another dollar.
Sold an old rocking horse on ebay, got a lot less than i wanted but that's the risk you take, anyway the lady came and collected yesterday - and paid cash:j:j and had two of her children with her who were thrilled with him, so he's going to a good home!

Have moved money from RBS to the Co and so far so good, have left enough in RBS to cover the couple of dds that are due before payday and hopefully have transferred everything over to the co for after payday, i know i'll have missed something. Still don't know whether to move the loan or not and didn't get peace yesterday to phone the CAB, so think i'll leave it to be paid this month and then ask at the CAB on Tuesday.

Need to get more stuff on ebay and have a prowl round the house to see what can go! And i'll need to work out a percentage of profit that i can squirrel away to repay the in-laws that leaves an emergency fund for us. Might be brave and get a quote to fix the gutters, don't think DH is willing to DIY:mad:

  • Had a call from Opus this afternoon saying if i made a token payment as low as £1 they wouldn't charge me a default fee. So have paid a £1 through internet banking and we'll see, goes against the CAB advice but if nothing else it is a £1 off what i owe them.

Children need money for Red Nose at school on Friday and flipping pup's collar broke open when we went for our walk yesterday, right beside a trunk road , thankfully he came back as soon as i called him but my heart was in my mouth. We have a rope type lead too so not an urgent spend but will need to make sure i get something really strong to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Had another weak chocolate moment, still a bag of wotsits and a 4 pk of dairy milk for £1.83, i'm noting all this cash spend stuff now too so that i know we can survive on whatever budget CAB agree. Have to be realistic and sustainable for the term of the DMP, so choc a must:D.

  • Ohhh in big trouble here, Oxfam have run out of red noses, ahhhhhh. Hope dd isn't in tears tomorrow, too much of a drive to the nearest Sainsburys or TK Maxx, grrrr.

Have cancelled the DD for the santander loan, bit wobbly about that one, it's due next week, so will ask CAB about it on Tuesday and then either call them or pay it from the new a/c.

Spends today, £4.99 on new collar and £7.99 on new lead (fab training one that can be clipped up close for training or unclipped to 6 feet) also bought a pack of bones for him £7.99, that was a mistake, really going to have to look at prices and not just grab things that look nice, slapped wrist. Maybe need to leave purse at home too :D in the future as it just seems i'm leaving my brain behind at the moment!
Think i was still annoyed about the lack of red noses and i was too mean to buy the deeley bopper things at £2 each, would have been £6 for them all and that seemed too much, ummm.
And again bought choc, ohh dear this has GOT to stop.

That's all the confessions for today!

Oh and parent's night tonight at school, wish me luck or i'll be stopping on the way back for even more chocolate:D

  • Morning,
At last we have a lovely sunny, still very frosty, morning here - hurrah, don't mind the cold but get very fed up with rain!

Right have opened an egg saver for DD to save her pocket money in, agreed terms & conditions with her yesterday!! So as she's just turned 8 she'll get £8 per month, so for March she's happy to save £6 and have £2 cash, she can use this for the one day a week they get tuck shop at school.

Have also just applied to open a Tesco internet saver too, this will be for car related money, intention is to budget for mot / servicing - £60, insurance - £42, road tax - £35, breakdown cover - £20 and tyres - £20 to cover both cars. This comes to £177 a month which is my best guestimate for the moment. Given my car has a huge mileage the servicing may not be high enough and it would be ideal to able to have a savings pot to replace it but we'll have to see. If our £200 each per month budget for petrol and diesel is underspent:rotfl:then i could try and squirrel that away too.

DH as always is away to Lidl / Tesco with £80 cash, let's see if he can do it! Also need to head to Costco later for loo rolls, mince and tomato sauce - if anyone has cheap loo roll tips please share, i'd love to save that money, obviously without using anything too newspaper-like!

Co-op pin numbers have now arrived, so we're good to go! Two calls on the answer phone from Bank of Scotland and Halifax, so will call and explain what's going on. BoS have already hit the cc with a £12 default charge, so it will be interesting to see if egg and tesco bank do approve the savings a/c applications...

Right off to make these return calls:o

  • Morning,
Well more money spent on the dog  £10.99 for a Halti and £3 for a ball and launcher! Nearly lost my arms with him yesterday so have been surfing for solutions and the Halti looks like the best option, we'll see later :D
Anything that makes the walks as enjoyable as they should be and helps me burn off the chocolate is welcome.

Other than that there should be no more spends, although i'm watching ebay for a Buzz Lightyear for middle child, just grudge spending for a lump of plastic but he's been doing well and school and is settling in so deserves something that is just for him.

Swimming lessons for them later and some work to catch up on here before work tomorrow, this is the downside of doing some hours from home, you don't switch off:(

Payday for DH is 29th and 31st for me, so still over a week to go till we see if pays go into the right account, but PINS working so co-op is being used now.
Yesterday Dh came back from Lidl / Tesco with £13 change from his £80 budget, sadly we then went to Costco and that was £56 but loads of steak mince, loo rolls (the bain of my life), tomato sauce, pain au chocolate (Sunday breakfast treat for the children), potato scones and industrial quantities of handcream for me.

Sold two pairs of children's shoes on ebay and got £3 into Paypal from surveys.
Need to list some more stuff on ebay but i have to be in the right mood!
